      @@theseeker403,
      Alvin’s link to his channel from ATE is till there.
      I still strongly speculate and believe there was a falling out with Inga. But I could be mistaken. He might have left for Babish because he wanted a change. Maybe one day, it will come out, or be truly clarified, not a PR cover up.
      So far, I feel suspicious, because of what happened at Bon Appetite with the original talent leaving. The fact that there is no, I left Buzzfeed or Tasty or Ate video, is odd, too.
      Just he hasn’t shown up in any capacity for four months. And no videos at his channel for six.
      Also, how they make sure never to mention Alvin, at all.

    • @Lucy-qp4wm
      @Lucy-qp4wm Год назад +3

      I think he has a bigger exposure in babish, and is earning a percent of the videos profits. That's what Babish said on an interview. So I guess it makes for financial sense to do more Babish work. And hey, it looks like he is enjoying himself, so why not? 😊

    I totally get that having everyone explain the food and also allowing everyone to try the food is complicated, but what about a picnic special where the foods you bring are supposed to be packed/to go? You'd probably have to film it and then make it again for the picnic, but I think having a little ATE potluck picnic sounds fun 😊

    Chamomile chicken is definitely a thing!
    Roister (by Chef Grant of Alinea) in Chicago has a whole chicken that’s brined in chamomile tea then served 3 ways: grilled, fried, salad (+ a gravy made with the scraps? If I’m remembering correctly)

    Lotus root is delicious! As someone who also grew up with lotus root soup as well, I always enjoyed them in the soup but I didn’t realize it could be cooked in other ways since we rarely ate out. But as my family’s financial situation improved, and we ate out more, I found so many more ways to enjoy it. And it’s delicious in all its incarnations.

    There's actually a classic Chinese chicken dish where they use green tea to smoke whole chicken with aromatics and salt resulting in juicy chicken with a subtle sweet/fragrant aroma.
    I also had a savory green tea snack/streetfood in Japan, senbei (rice cracker) which they probably made with matcha powder mixed into the rice dough and after grilling it on a hotplate finished with a sweeter-than-average soy glaze. That's the most amazing snack I've ever eaten: simple in ingredients, but surprisingly complex in flavors due to the role reversal in sweet-savory, the grill taste and chewy-crispy textures.

    What would you grow in your garden was a great question! I live in a small apartment that only gets sun in the morning on the deck so I bought an aero garden for herbs. It was so successful I was eating pesto pizza every night for dinner. I changed it up to try and grow tomatoes and within weeks the tomato had overgrown the pod. I replanted it twice because it was so huge! I now have my aero garden growing parsley which I love and am harvesting cherry tomatoes off my deck. If you have limited space and sun it was my solution. Tomatoes and herbs. That’s all you need!

    Savory with chamomile? I've previously run a cold soup starter where chamomile tea was the base.
    Grilled honeydew, white wine, and lemongrass.
    You could just as easily have thrown it in a sorbet machine though, and used it accordingly.
    Perhaps as an oyster mignonette, if you added a thin slice of pickled celery or fresno chile.
