“There have been times where I have failed, but there was never a time where I thought I would fail”
-Michael Jordan
You had to be around to understand this man’s greatness
AGREED. Watching 15-20 minute RUclips highlights won't cut it.
Aggressive Attitude Era kinda does if u know which vids to watch
I agree with y’all but this video will force someone to, I always love Jordan highlights but this is first this hit so different but i also have a lot more to watch I’m only 18
Truer words have never been spoken. You had to be there and fortunately I was. Thanks Mike.
I was around I taught him how to play
The difference between Jordan and everyone else is that Jordan literally made you feel like he had supernatural powers. No other athlete has ever given me this feeling
Not only that but for some reason the closest person on earth I see as being a “God” on earth is MJ. Have no idea why but i was thinking about it the other day like who the most famous most impactful person for me it’s Michael Jordan
@@isaacgloria9963That’s because he is a “god” in his field (basketball) due to how elite he was and IQ of the field. It’s the same for other like Einstein, Newton, Michael Jackson, LeBron James, Phelps, etc. All of these individuals (and more) are worthy of that title in their respective fields.
This is the best description I’ve ever read of how it was watching MJ play. For those of us lucky to have witnessed it, we know there is only one 23. The closest thing to MJ is not Kobe (although he was unreal), and it’s definitely not Lebron. Steph Curry has that magic when he plays too. When he plays I watch bc I miss watching the GOAT play, and he brings a little bit of that magic back
S tier glaze
Here’s Jordan for three! Yes!
Gave me goosebumps
I was listening to this one on the radio. It was so noisy and I didn't understand what was going on in the first half.
Crazy man 🔥
Crowd went crazy
Marv Albert calling MJ games back then was pure magic 🔥
Yeah Marv Albert said Jordan!!! Better than anybody else calling Jordan and The Bulls games in the 90's
Skip Bayless was talking about this game on undisputed so I thought I would check it out lol 😂
He mentioned it today too 😂
No doubt he's talking about LeChoke today, after the Lakers were just eliminated by Phoenix, while LeXhina pulled an "Isaiah Thomas", and went to the locker room with 5min left in the game.
@@marcavery5310 he is 😂😂😂😂
OMG LOL THATS SO FUNNY!
So I heard a story on the night before this game that the players and coaches of the Trailblazers said MJ can't make threes. Needless to say he heard what they said and the Goat delivered
That's when he took it personal.
I believe it was a reporter or the media in general who said leading up to the game that Clyde was a better 3 point shooter. So he made it a point to bomb away from deep, especially after Clyde would miss a 3 on the other end. People who weren't around don't understand the aura and competitive fire this guy had.
That’s all he needed.
@@logicaldude3611 Lots of guys have that or start out with that. What MJ had was that unbelievable ability to deliver on it. Nearly every time. And therefore continue to believe it himself. It's kind of hard to understand or describe... Don't think he could have done that for too many years. But during those 6 years, man, is he untouchable...
@@logicaldude3611yes, as you heard Marv say, a new 3 pt record. If the record was 15 threes, he would’ve broke that. That’s just his killer mentality everyone talks about.
This man is so vastly superior to anyone who has ever touched a basketball it’s actually disgusting
You’re forgetting Taj Gibson
@@theonlyalecazam2947 nate Robinson🤣🤣🤣🤣
Bron is close. But MJ is definitely better
@@MattHawkesPurdy Bron is not close he's not even the closest he's just hyped by the media and chased/recruited titles.
@@Rams8148 lol wrong
Marv Albert the GOAT at announcing games
I agree, I feel he enjoyed the game as much as the fans
This is one of the greatest NBA games ever played. It's artistry and beauty you can't find today.
This man was something else. GOAT.
I am nearly 58 years old. I watched Jordan's ENTIRE CAREER. But even watching highlights, (that I saw live when they happened), I just STILL SHAKE MY HEAD, IN DISBELIEF, AT HOW SUPERIOR & GREAT MIKE WAS!!! MICHAEL JORDAN IS, WAS, & ALWAYS WILL BE, THE G.O.A.T. of Basketball!!!! NO ONE ELSE IS EVEN REMOTELY CLOSE- including Magic, Lebron, Kobe, Bird, or Durant!!!!
True
True
Facts
LeBron is just as great if not greater than Jordan. His Cavs team can literally go from a deep playoff run or even finals appearance to missing the playoffs without him. LeBron’s era had 2 KD warriors rings and 1 Kyrie injured finals series that went to 6 games. I’m sure he would’ve had more rings if not for those reasons out of his control
Lebron is great. Just NOT MJ
Long live the Goat!!!
Clyde Drexler: " Jordan can't shoot the 3"
MJ: " Lemme drop these six 3's in the first half real quick"
Not only that, but was a new Finals' record. His record of 63pts against the Celtics in '86 is (to the best of my knowledge) STILL an NBA Playoffs scoring record. 🐐🐐
Those points he scored (122 total) was against the #1 defense (and eventual NBA Champions), and Dennis Johnson (DJ) was the best defensive guard in the league, who guarded MJ (along with Bird) most of that game. 🐐
@@marcavery5310 Yes, this is a conversation I regularly have with my younger brother. He somehow thinks Lebron is better. It's like arguing with a wall. It's hard to put Jordan's exploits into words. Particularly in situations where Chicago was down late and the odds of winning were slim to none. Then Jordan would enter that zone and just take over. I'm still mesmerized watching him do that 30yrs later. And I despised Jordan when he played because that meant my team wasn't going to be champions. I've never seen that invincibility factor in Lebron. Not once.
@@marcavery5310 jordan also set a playoff record and finals record for made shots in a row in game 2 of the 1991 finals when he made 13 (finished by 'Spectacular Move"). It was broken as a playoff record last year but remains a Finals Record.
MJ is the most complete package player in NBA history truly the GOAT! from rebounds steals blocks assists threes post-up games and perimeter shots great defender and a spectacular scorer, he got it all! he's to focus on the game he needn't boast or showboat he just reserves his strength creating more pts! and winning the game
its sad how the game has lost its enthusiasm.. the crowds were wild and excited .. the players were giving it all they had .. what a great time to be around when all this was going on.. i could watch these old games all day.. todays nba gets boring quick...
Because it was real competition
@@bobsingh5521 exactly
In the 90's when he improved his Mid range shot and the 3 pt shot there was nothing you could do to stop it.
"I can't accept failure, I can't accept not trying " - NBA GOAT
it's:'' i can accept failure but i cannot accept not trying''
@@djponto5461
I was looking for that answer 👍
This is poetry in motion. The greatest. Ever.
And this psycho killer did this to Clyde only because the media compared them!
Not only that - but he chose to take 3 pointers because the media said the only stat Clyde has over Jordan is 3 pointers that season. Jordan replied "I just choose not to take many".
Notice a few of the 3 pointers he took in this game came right after Clyde missed his own the other end, including an air ball.
Premeditated and psychological destruction. The choice to take 3 pointers in this game was intentional. The GOAT.
@@CuriusOdus11 A lot of people don't realize that. There's a reason he was bombing away from the get go. And the shrug was him saying, "I thought you guys said Clyde was a better 3 point shooter?" The guy was a mad man. He literally chose to go to this seldom used part of his arsenal in a FINALS game just to prove a point.
I still till this day don’t know how MJ did it he barely called for screens his entire career, completely destroyed his matchup night n and night out he legit could averaged 40 a game in today’s game if he could get the switch onto smaller players all game
@Lil Dagga, I believe Rodman, when he said that MJ would average 50 pts/gm in today's soft "no touch" NBA.
He didn't call for on-ball screens, but he used off-ball screens all the time. His off-ball game is criminally underrated and in the 90s it was second only to Reggie Miller.
@@back2back379 that's why mj can adapt to any type of offense he doesn't need to hog ball to drop 50 he just does it in flow of offense.
No help defense because of Illegal defense. Any player today who can ISO would love this field day in the 90'sm Stop it
This my personal favorite Jordan moment the shrug says it all. 🔥
And this is why Lebron will never surpass Jordan, 3 Championships straight in 3 years after his retirement and he came back dammnnn.
LeGOAT Jordan I’m sorry but he’s actually right, but Jordan and Bron played 2 different positions and Bron’s taller than Jordan so Bron’s gonna obviously get more rebounds and has a better advantage of scoring than Jordan but jordan getting 6 rings, and the last 3 being in a row; Bron’s never got that so.....
Forest Meme the fact that ur bringing Lebron’s up unprompted shows that ur threatened by him and know that he’s better then MJ
Ricky El Diablo Bron’s not better than MJ
@@JellyGODJet from me having watched jordan, kobe, clyde, dominique etc, jordan has literally the PERFECT LEGACY. but if you look at the two overall players (jordan and lebron) they’re both the greatest players at their position. to me lebron, kobe, and jordan are freaks of nature in their own plane compared to everybody else but lebron is the better OVERALL player. a 6’9 260 pound forward that can move like a guard, can guard 1-5 (when he gives the effort) and can playmake and handle like a point guard.
@@vincent8313 well said 🙌🏾
He took something personal 😅🤷🏽♂️🔥
They were saying Clyde was on the same level as Jordan and MJ took offense to that.
The thing the modern NBA fans need to understand is that Clyde Drexler was an absolutely phenomenal basketball player and Jordan made it his mission in that series to show the world that HE was the MVP and not Drexler. This is why every kid of my generation wanted to be "like Mike". The most hilarious thing is I once hit a shot in an elementary school game and I was wearing Jordans and I turned around to the stands and looked at my dad and done "the shrug". I was about 4 and a half feet and white as a ghost but who cared? LOL!
Jordan is shooting corner threes, fast break threes & threes when blazers drop coverage… looks like Mike stepped out of todays current NBA with all the shooting 🐐
Back when the league was balanced and stars didn't want to play with each other, just compete against each other
Tyrone L.D. Style this shit trash lls
MJ and Pippen..Hakeem and Clyde...Payton and Kemp...Malone, and Stockton...Shaq and penny...Stars most definitely played with each other back then.
RJPointer whatever man this shit trash and defense is atrocious
RJPointer yea cause they were all drafted by that one team dumbass
Being drafted doesn't change the fact that there were always superteams IDK why yall think that matters..a superteam is a superteam regardless.
35pts at a half bruh
And he subbed out of the game for 6 minutes in the second quarter... This IS STILL AN NBA RECORD FOR A FINALS GAME HALF. HE SCORED 35 IN 18 FUCKING MINUTES.
The greatest putback Dunk of all-time
Watching Mj highlights is so much fun to watch in the 90s 🏀🤟🏽😎
I’m here because skip and Shannon debate😂
In this game Jordan finished with 39 points 35 in the first half & had 11 assists shooting 59% & Chicago won by 33 points
R.I.P Cliff Robinson aka Uncle Cliffy..😥
“Jordan For Three!!!! Yes!”
The G.O.A.T !! I Own this game on DVD and it's sweet . Just A Brilliant game by MJ. A complete blowout by the Bulls .
Everyone before the game: Clyde is a better 3point shooter
MJ: sets a 3 point nba record
This is what being the goat is
And of all things, he chose to settle this slight against him in a FINALS game. He was bombing away to prove a point and I'm sure everybody got the message that you don't give this guy any more fuel than he already has.
I saw that game live in TV.....an we all new it before the game started , somthing special is in the „Air“ 😜
GREATEST OF ALL TIME 🐐
Mj with today rules(wizards)before his knee injury at 39-40yrs old was averaging 25 6 5 on like 49%
The shrug is at 3:01
MJ's shooting form is beautiful to watch.
Who else came here after hearing skip bayless say “look up Michael Jordan Shrug game”
Me lol😂
Back when the refs wouldn't make calls if someone breathed on you
Lil TAY #YungestFlexaUfDaCentery you might wanna look up what the "refs" were like back then. Especially to a certain superstar at the time. Ahem.
Lil TAY #YungestFlexaUfDaCentery u get a foul now for having bad breath.
Back when zone defense wasn't a thing
+lilyusi
Back when coaches complained all the time about refs not calling "illegal defense" much on teams clearly using a zone defense.
Well we are in the covid-19 era of basketball now
I remember on NBA 2K11 they had the jordan challenge where you could replay Michaels most legendary games. They had this game on there i tried to hit the 6 threes and i could only hit like 2. I used to get so pissed. 😂😂😂
Jordan actually guarded his position and didn't have Pippen do it 😂😂
hum maybe because its 1992 and mj is 20 something? don't think he's 33 here...
name one finals MJ played in were he had formidable competition at his position beside this finals ... I'll wait.
RJPointer facts
+RJPointer Magic Johnson. Gary Payton. John Stockton. I'll stop now.
RJPointer clyde drexler was decent...
GOD I miss hearing Marv Albert call games! I also just miss this era of NBA basketball. This was the tail end of the "Golden Era" for me. Form the late 70's through the early 2000's was easily the best timeframe for basketball. Simply unmatched.
Jordan just doing Jordan things 🤷🏽♂️
I remember this game specifically from the Air Time movie..still gives me goosebumps
I was at that game. Also game 6 with the 4th quarter comeback from 15 down. The old Chicago Stadium was a madhouse on Madison. Great venue
Understand that THIS WAS A FINALS RECORD! 6 in First half!
Think about that...he broke a 3pt record at the time! If he played today..his 3 ball would be crazy!
And then came the Dream Team month later. MJ was on top of the world.
Is anyone in there right mind....Trying to tell me that Lebron is better than M.J.??? At no point in Lebron's career....has he ever put on an offensive display like what we just saw in Finals game! I'm a Lebron fan...I really am...And Lebron is an All-time great! But let's never get confused....Michael Jordan is the GOAT!!!!!!!!
50-0!!! TBE not like this but remember against pistons
Boston in 2012 game 6
Even in Boston game 3 2010
Many more but not saying he better than MJ . Just saying he had performances like this where you like wow one man beat an entire team
the head and shoulder fake fade away jumpshot against clyde drexler is one of my favourite mj moves in this game.
And you fan boys say L3B6on is goat are you kidding
The GOAT.
MJ’s hangtime is outa this world
Facts his hangtime was something else
goat mj would easily dominat in today game
Look at this defense tho
@@xavierbradley2681 LOL ymca defrnse
Lmao he told Magic he was gonna destroy Clyde the night before over some cards 😂😂😂
He took offense to being compared to Clyde. He had to show everyone that Clyde ain't on his level at all.
Yep, playing cards, smoking cigars and drinking until 1 in the morning. Per Magic, "I gotta let u go Mike, just in case you forgot, you need some sleep, you gotta big game tomorrow" mj "what you leaving for? Don't worry about me, I'll be alright. You need to go make sure Clyde and those Trailblazer boys are getting some sleep!" ...Mike was so damnnn G!
So Mike goes hard until a little after 3am, drops 35 in the first half then shrugs at Magic as if to say, "i told you ill be alright."
I can't believe all the Clyde hate on here That man was a physical and athletic freak with a stellar hall-of-fame career. He was choosen as 1 of the 50 greatest players of all-time. In case you forgot, Clyde the 'Glide was a 6'7" guard with a 4.42 forty time and a legit 41 inch verticle. Just like back then, right now, today, there's only a hand full of guys in the league with that size and skill criteria. Hes played in 10 allstar games, an original dream teamer, won a championship, he wrapped it up after 16 seasons in which averaged roughly 21/6/6 (lebron 27/7/7 kobe 25/5/5). Show that man some love, he put in work!!!!
...and for the record, the year he led his team to face Mike in the finals, he was a strong MVP candidate coming off roughly a 25/7/7 , he was decent that season, HE WAS BALLING! ...but Mike was Mike.
No hating on Clyde. He's also a HOF'er.
I believe he also was the NBA MVP that year. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
That’s why MJ is the GOAT!
Favorite MJ moment ever
One of the best moments in NBA history. "Here is Jordan for 3"
3:00
He was letting everyone know he was going to win 6 championships by getting 6 straight three pointers. He truly is the🐐 G.O.A.T 🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆
Michael was sending a message to drexlar and ever body else that thought.. they was on the same leval.. as him he was the killer of all killers.. RQQ..RQQ to my fraternity brother!♎
Share, the GOAT.
Man! 🔥🔥🔥
He was in fire in this game! 😮😁💅
The GOAT!!!!
Watching for a rewind since MJ is on the 2K23 cover.😁😁😁
in this game the blazers tried to use the same strategy the spurs used against lebron in 2013, letting him shoot, the diff is that mj made 6 threes in the first half and lebron was clamped up averaging 25 ppg on 44% shooting.
MJ 🐐✔️...
Lebron shoots 20% outside 3 ft lol
I wish it was 1992 again and have todays brains I would be a different person
Lol we all would bro
WWE INTROS AND STAGES shit 90s were cool though
Facts
Michael Jordan going off with Marv Albert as the commentator. A timeless masterpiece.
At 1:28 Robinson had excellent and correct instincts but Michael was just TOOO GOOOD
It should be LeBron vs Kobe debate because MJ on a different level than both of them 😃
yep! Chuck and magic have both said arguing and debates are good for ratings, the fans want it, so the producers want it, but there's only 1 mike, so let's argue about who the 2nd best player of all-time is, at least thats a real debate, a real argument.
Its just ridiculous how great he was. Man there wont ever be another jordan
S*** the look on Clyde's face when he's sitting at that time out he was beat he knew it
They said he couldn’t shoot & then he did it. Prove them wrong🤷🏾♂️
MJ Pure Greatness 🔥🔥🔥🐐
Jordan dropped 35 points in 18 mins in the FIRST HALF.
Lol I thought mj couldn't pass tho*sarcasm.
Ill never forget watching this game as a 12-13 year old kid. It was the first time that i can remember hearing about how a player can enter the zone and catch fire. MJ was head and shoulders above everyone else cause Clyde Drexler was a great player but wasnt in MJ's league,no one was.
Clyde drexler was great but he was no match for Jordan. Jordan made everyone else look average. Even my favorite player magic Johnson was no match
Just think: MJ shrugging off of 6 three pointers lol Curry and allay out here hitting 13-14 threes. In games. Crazy how the NBA has changed
Thanks!
I wish MJ and Wilt faced each other in the NBA.
For just one game, MJ was a Splash God.
Setting up Jordan wide open for another THREE!
It's Michael Jordan on one side and everyone else on the other side!!
This all happened because somebody said Drexler was a better 3 point shooter. That's all it took, just one perceived slight against him, and he goes out bombing from downtown in the first half of Game 1. His competitiveness was off the charts.
I don't know what eluding means but if I had to base off the move Jordan did when the commentator said it. I think it means , "to get away from".
2:01
Jordan:HEY SCOTTIE I M CATCHING FIRE...PLAYTIME IS OVER.
All young hoopers should watch this
Look at at his shot selection and no misses.
Who's here after Clifford Robinson's death?
"Jordan for three! Yessss!"
he could have easily scored 65-70 points that night if he wanted to. he couldnt miss.
Here’s Jordan for three!! Yes!!!
0:21 KD did the same move 👀
And Kyrie Irving & Trae Young too
What a moment
Can you say on fire 🔥 🔥
The GOAT! Makes it look so easy. Kobe copied the moves but not the instincts and intuition to execute the moves. ANd MJ was jsut more athletic and stronger than Kobe.Kobe had to operate farther from the basket because he wasnt as quick and explosive. THat's why he's inefficient volume scorer.
this is Peak Jordan
Perfectos movimientos perfectos ensestes, era mo asesino preferido de las duelas
I love that he did this after being told his stats and Drexler's that season were similar other than in 3 pointers. Jordan replied "It's because I choose not to take as many 3 pointers."
So he went into this game basically looking to prove he not only did everything better than Clyde, but especially the one stat they had Clyde ahead on. Imagine being so good you can decide what style of game to adopt because you know whatever you choose, you'll destroy them anyway. Not only that, but 2-3 of those 3 pointers he decided to take right after Clyde had missed one the other end. Absolutely incredible. The GOAT debate is such a waste of breath.
Clyde at 3:45 says it all.
Cliff Robinson's body language said it all after MJ's shrug.
