Love watching Il2. Brings back memories of all the time I spent on 1946. Always makes me want to reinstall. How easy it is to get setup for VR?
Depends on the set. On the quest 3, it's quite straightforward but the optimisation takes long. At least if you like me and you want to squeeze out all the resolution and performance

What servers do you recommend for pilots that know how to fly but arent so experienced with fighting? Ive played a lot of Task Force Dingo but im lookimg to branch out to a higher pop server.
I am not familiar with that server. Sure that your server is on great battles? I either case I just recommend to get going in MP. Only server I would stay away from is Tactical Air War. TAW punishes aircraft loss and loss of life severely. Combat Box, wings of liberty and finnish virtual pilots are three servers which are often filled and dont punish death. For dogfight practise join Berloga
@@SheriffsSimShack yeah, it's an "all aircraft" server in the Dogfights subsection. It's not surprising you haven't heard of it, it's max pop my entire time playing was about 5. Do the servers you mention restrict aircraft per Era theyre in, like only Kuban pack and similar aircraft when the map is there ect, or are they unrestricted?
Finnish progressively unlocks aircraft regardless of Eastern or western front and is ahistorical.
Combat Box has generally speaking the most historical planesets but features mainly late war western front fights. There are some rare wild unicorn missions which are also on a Eastern front map but with additional Eastern front planes. But again these are rare.
Cb also runs periodically "Apollo" which is dynamic campaign which unlocks planes precisely by their introduction date.
Wings focuses on Eastern front maps and planes with varying accuracy. But also some odd missions.
I personally play cb most of the time
when are you going to try DCS? You said in a video a couple of month ago that you will give it a go.
I tried to play but at the time VR was broken for weeks and for now it's off my mind. I also watched some gameplay and wasn't impressed really. But as soon as I have some time to kill I will check it out. Keys for some planes are bound.

I didn't know people are still playing on IL2. I reinstalled it awhile ago and there was 1 person on thats it. Must be just private servers etc...
No... there are thousands of players across the timezones. Maybe 200 - 300 in eu Primetime. You prolly had mods enabled or checked IL46...

@SheriffsSimShack he could have also checked the co-op servers rather than Dogfight ones. I knew when I first got started I was confused about which one to go into.

I doubt that "most" are there. But I believe that some are. 😉
What kind of planes do they have in DCS..? Lest us count: P51, Bf109K4, Spit, i16 (LOL), 190D9. Let me see... Thank you, I will stay in Il2 (50+ planes, maybe not so perfect modelled, but definitely better suited for gameplay for years 1941..1945) .
DCS’ WW2 scene is nonexistent , it’s a Cold War game at heart, Il-2 is superior for WWII
