I don't like adaptive auto rifles in #destiny2 and now I'm in love. I am SO excited to grab an Adept roll of The Summoner. I'll be looking for both Zen moment and Heal Clip rolls because they are both SO GOOD.

I should have ULTRA UNDERLINED to play in a 3 stack. Loot will rain from Bungie I’m telling you. That’s how the two players that were with me got their loot so fast. Use fireteam finder, Bungie app, whatever you can. It’s worth it if you just want the loot.
For people who use passage of persistence, will they be able to farm adept drops without resetting? My clanmates mostly play PVE but they all really want the summoner

Can confirm Onslaught is flinching the fuck out of people. Got a heal clip onslaught my first drop last week and started winning 1v2s and 1v3s I had NO business even engaging in.
I swear there were a few actual 1v2s (like both players engaging) where I’d kill one and the moment I switched to the second, I entirely stopped taking damage

Which mag perk do you have on it? Are you getting extra flinch from high cal, or is it just onslaught by itself?
These two perks combine is insane. They are cases I absolutely dead if using anything else,but now after reloading I'm back!
I love my heal clip onslaught summoner 💯 1v2 and 1v3 are insane with this auto.
I am COMPLETELY obsessed with Zen Moment on autos right now since it makes me feel like recoil direction doesn't matter.
Gonna be chasing that max range adept roll with Zen Moment and Onslaught, but almost anything in the 4th column looks good haha
Ive been on that train for over a year with my gnawing Hunger, Zen Moment rampage and max Range. Nobody believed me how extremely OP Zen Moment on 600s is. IT Just cant miss

For me, I've had a ton of consistent success with Perpetual Motion/Target Lock combo (Range masterwork) running on healing grenade solar Hunter, and it feels solid. Would love to perhaps grab a heal clip version but for now I'm content with this one!

Spot on review. I have had about 40 Summoners and for PvP I like HC, Zen and Onslaught. Hunting for a Range Masterwork and barrel to accompany it. For PVE, Heal clip and Onslaught is like a healing mini machine gun, too much fun to pass up.
Got the adept Heal Clip/Onslaught roll this weekend. It is absolutely comical how strong it is.
I love my adept summoner I got from witch queen: small bore, ricochet rounds, overflow, rampage/elemental capacitor, stability masterwork and adept range.
Overflow got gutted after the special weapon change. But hopefully it could prick upon warming special ammo from all sources in the future.
yeah I had some good old ones too but Overflow got hit SO hard in PvP

I'm not good in pvp, but I decided to suffer through 10 levels for that subsistence/killing tally Incisor roll this weekend. I also got two Summoners to drop and they BOTH had heal clip/onslaught. I just tried it in pve and I'm absolutely blown away - after my absolutely disastrous time getting Messenger back in season 13, papa Saint blessed me beyond words.
VERY important regarding the passage of persistence:
You have to win your first two matches, or your card will become flawed and you won’t get any adepts once you get to 7 wins. I’ve also heard it’s still flawing them regardless at times after 5 wins. Not sure if it’s a bug or what, but I’m restarting my card today to try again.

@@Legoleflash It literally took me all day to get back to 7 wins (damn, fools in there were sweaty AF today!), but my adept drop was zen moment with a target lock/kill clip option 😁
Mine bugged after 5, it has a red X in the flawless box. No Adept drop at 7 wins

Yeah it was really rough that first night. I feel like it's gotten easier as the weekend went on, but it was much more difficult than even I expect. Very strange for all the options available and how hot the weapon is.
Got that heal clip kill clip/target lock and man Im loving it in trials. Dont know how effective zen moment feels but heal clip feels good for me.
Got my absolute perfect adept god roll last night (heal clip, onslaught, range mw, extended barrel, ricochet). It simply feels incredible.
I also got an adept roll with heal clip and a choice between onslaught and kill clip (full bore, ricochet, stability mw). In being able to try out both perks on exactly the same roll, I really feel like kill clip might be the better perk for trials. Tough to say for sure, cause I’ve only been able to play Cauldron, but it feels pretty difficult to take advantage of onslaught in threes…

Got a healclip/onslaught last week, and it's the best onslaught weapon in PVE, hands down. The health let's you focus on keeping onslaught active.
the number of bullets the rifle comes with pairs so well with Onslaught. Haven't heard anyone else talk about that yet but it is so vital to the perk and how good it works here
I got The Summoner to drop with Zen Moment and OnSlaught with Range masterwork. Once it was masterworked and Adapt Range was added it was up to 80.

haven't put down golden tricorn since I started using Unforgiven, Optative, and Out of Bounds with demo

Im on the opposite end of the spectrum- i've settled on heal clip/kill clip in PVP, and heal clip/onslaught in PVE (although i only really play trials and comp, so that affects my choices).
The only exception is my Zen Moment/Golden Tricorn roll that I use on my Athrys hunter, because knife go brrrr

Subsistence + Rampage is also a timeless combo for this.
As a PvE player I really enjoy overflow/incandescant. I know subsistance would prolly be better, but it’s been a phenomenal weapon for me since I got this. It’s like calys but i can shoot from much farther.
I prefer Abyss for my HC/Incan roll personally, Cursed Thrall is icing on the cake and the extra range is useful in PVE. But Summoner with Onslaught is stupid fun all the time and will be my PVE roll for less stressful content

I had to play 70+ games of trials this weekend to finally get my heal clip-Onslaught roll. Farmed wins all weekend and right before i was done for the night- the weapon dropped! My go to PVE weapon now as well

The very first Adept Summoner I got rolled Heal Clip + Incan/Onslaught with Smallbore and Flared Magwell. The only real problem is that it had a Handling masterwork which, while normally just fine, is a bit wasted on a weapon archetype that already has good base Handling.
That said, I was glad I got both of my PvP and PvE Summoners on the same weapon drop. Running solo in Trials is super-frustrating and I'm glad that Persistence exists now so I can at least "brute force" an Adept drop.

I got overflow+onslaught, I just wish overflow was useable in current pvp because it would have been really good proccing onslaught with double the mag.
got a normal version of subsistance/tap the trigger , perpetum/targetlock and finally a heal-clip/kill clip version. barrel and mag is on the sbsistance best, sadly. But anyway, really great gun, love it :)

Dont forget you can stack wormhusk and heal clip if you dodge and reload it procs heal clip basically gets all your health back
oh for sure, our devour which is what I was doing in a lot of these clips (or the health on orb pickup mod)

I have an old Summoner and it doesn’t have Zed moment, has 55 range, moving target and Rangefinder and the little red Dot 🔴 when u aim never moves out of target! Summoner has always have hidden buffs in aim and recoil.

second adept got heal clip+incandescent/onslaught and i'm so so so happy
couldn't ask for better and finding out this can get enhanced in final shape is just perfect
edit: want to add to the love for the persistence ticket. i don't have to worry about needing to go flawless for the wonderful (adept) tag. i've already got a memento sitting in my pocket, and honestly the latest trials armour looks better when it's not glowing. so now i can chill and get some of the nicest gear in the game. it's so nice

BTW, if you can't or won't farm The Summoner for whatever reason, or you just need more range, take a look at Abyss Defiant from Crota. Same Heal Clip vs Zen Moment choice in column 3, with Sword Logic, Kill Clip, or Swashbuckler in column 4, craftable/enhanceable, very marginally worse TTK. Heal Clip/Swashbuckler is the way IMO, powered melee kill gets you 46.9% extra damage which four taps anyone for 0.5s TTK and throws out a Cursed Thrall explosion for adding insult to injury.
Athrys throwing knife build is the obvious choice (Cammycakes runs this sometimes), or Peregrine Greaves or Consecration builds on Sunbreaker, or Karnstein for a crazy snap build. You can also get melee kills decently reliably on certain other subclasses like Shadebinder, but you'd need a source of radiant to hit to 0.5s.

I will keep being an advocate for Rain of Fire Boots on Warlock. Looking at Zen Moment, Onslaught. Cause I can keep the gun loaded with Icarus Dash, and keep the Radiant buff with Empyrean after you get the Fusion Rifle Kill. This is such a strong weapon, excited to eventually get the roll.
PVE Overflow and Onslaught/Golden Tricorn.
Oh that is VERY strong with Rain of Fire, and yeah, Rain of Fire is crazy good with pretty much everything 😅
My old adept is GT/compulsive reloader. Not very much good and it was still feels liked a machine gun.

I really like Heal Clip Onslaught. I'm hoping for a Zen Moment Onslaught or a Zen / Golden Tricorn to try out.
When we are able to enhance these perks, both heal and kill clip get +0.5 to their timers (heal clip before reloading, kill clip after). Zen Moment adds +5 stability, nice but could be better.
Which now that I say it means enhanced heal and kill clip don’t synergize at all
Yeah that’s a bummer, we’ll see what onslaught does. It can’t be enhanced anywhere else yet!

Just got an adept summoner with corkscrew, flared magwell, heal clip, with either kill clip or onslaught with a stability masterwork. Played a few rumble games and loving it so far. Preferring onslaught more to kill clip right now but could change.

@@Legoleflashwish i had ricochet rounds and a range masterwork but this just means i get to play more trials. Side note, I typically run main ingredient for my special weapon and noticed that i start off the game with 1 shot instead of 2. Is that a bug or a glitch? I thought all special weapons started off with 2 shots.
Really wanted to reiterate that summoner will be enhancable along with everything else that realeased this patch when final shape drops.
This means longer duration damage perks, more scorch incandescent, higher stability zen moment, stronger heal clip!!!

Yesterday I had my first onslaught x3 in PvP in a 1v3 .... The second and third guy didn't stand a chance. In combination with zen moment they couldn't do anything 😅
RR/HC/Incandescent is a PvE masterpiece, I could say imo its the best Solar Auto for PvE so far, this thing melts ads and its even crazier with Caliban Hands build

The number one issue with autos especially on 600s is being flinched off target hence why handcannons hard countered autos in the past

so i didn’t leave empty handed it was actually a lot of fun I used Rufus fury on my arc warlock for the flawless with blueberry’s

I got a Elemental and Onslaught that with the reloads (solar) melts majors and champs, it is a PVE monster. I was hoping for a Heal clip Onslaught but no dice.

I have a MAX Range (Full Bore/Ricochet/Range MW/Adept Range Mod) Heal Clip and Kill Clip roll. It's ridiculous. Need to re-engage? No problem. Chains kills, fantastic at duels, reprised Summoner is a demon

That’s so weird I’ve only got 1 Summoner so far and it’s the exact same one as 3:14 like same exact perks/mag/barrel/mw o.O
Perks that lower the optimal TTK aren't always better. Onslaught may lower it after some work, but it's not very forgiving like Target Lock (which also pushes your range out).
Yeah that’s exactly why I say it didn’t make a difference for ME, but you’re body shot average (or range as you suggested) might be different than me, but in practice in the real games, the other perks paid off WAY more
Waiting on your double cascade point/discord 450 ARs with Horror Story and Prosecutor. Unless I was thinking about another creator. That would go perfectly with the Mask of Bakris with the Stasis/Arc damage boost.
Prosecutor and The Prophet go pretty good together with this too!

My only problem with this gun is it being trials exclusive. I’m not a big PvP person, and although that new trials passage will help some, trials will still be quite the hiccup for me. Other than that nice video
