Shokunin - The Varis Japan Story

- In 2011 I was introduced to Varis and their unique way of making aerodynamic parts. Unlike many modern companies, they take a simpler more traditional approach that requires a high level of craftsmanship and patience. In an age were we want instant gratification, it was nice to see a group of craftsmen that believe in quality over outright speed. It’s taken me about 5 years to get everything I needed and figure out exactly how to bring this small piece together, so it feels great to finally be able to share it.

This was beautiful! So well done. Excellent job. Thoroughly enjoyed it! Read the behind the scenes on the Speed Academy blog which really gives a greater appreciation of what went into making it.
Thank you for putting this video together and sharing it with the world. It's stories of companies like this that are truely inspirational.
I own the Arising II full kit for the 370Z. When I first received it I spent a lot of time being amazed by the quality of the work. Yes, they are more expensive...and it is worth every penny.
Brian Myers agree it’s so worth it! That’s one of the reasons I really wanted to make this film. I wanted people to see all the work that goes into these authentic parts and why we should all support companies like Varis and stay away from knockoff parts.
Really excellent video, I found by accident by becoming interested in the word Shokunin. Great work, I would love to see more of the craftsmen and their techniques.
Awesome video so glad I found it!! Great storytelling integrated with information and background of Varis along with perfect music 💯💯💯
I hope you can film something more like this. I'd like to hear the genuine stories behind corporations. and most importantly, yours is short and easy to understand! thanks very much for the video.
honestly criminal that this doesn't have more views
Still criminal
Wow. Great impact for only a 4 minute video! Definitely leaves you wanting more especially after seeing that 370!
Came straight from the eater omakase series. Good to know that passion remains the same no matter what the medium is
The attention to detail is bar none.

I only wish this was longer!
I know, I hear ya! I wish I could have been able to elaborate more on a few topics that we kinda just glossed over, but doing so would have delayed this so much I had to make a decision and go forward knowing that I still had enough to finish it.
Great Video!
Thanks!!!
Perfect.
