@@pataleno Do you feel edgy making comments about Page that are not positive? How about you play 300+ shows in a year and show us how good you play live. There are many factors involved with playing perfect live. Sweat on the strings and neck just to name one. He was the one who played the solos in the studio so we all know he could play. Why be a dick? It’s not like you are saying anything new. Release your live concert footage of you playing something great and I might consider taking you even remotely seriously.

Every time I have seen him do this solo, there are differences. Some subtle, some major. And I know he liked to do that. But after seeing it done 100 different ways, can someone tell me how it is always perfect. I have never seen another guitar player do that. Most stay on script with very little changes to their major songs. This is an iconic solo, but it's always different and always awesome! I guess that is why he is Jimmy Page and everyone else, outside of Hendrix, is mortal!

I guess for a more consistent version you would go to TSRTS soundtrack. This solo was a bit long, but many sections show why he is in the top3 or top5 rock guitarists ever. Now Bonzo helped enormously, Jimmy was lost for a while without him. Still, remember Jimmy never plays it too safe. Even other great guitarists may rely on overtly scripted solos. And sometimes Jimmy can be sloppy, but sometimes he can almost shred. But, Bonzo was in many ways not just a drummer but also a rhythm guitar, and without Bonzo Jimmy didn’t sound nearly as big or ferocious.

I saw another solo live of Stairway To Heaven. And again ppls looks kinda dissapointed that it didnt sound exactly as studio version.
Only few guys dare to improvise on each live performance and reinvent itself as Jimmy does basically every fucking time. I would love to be there.
