- Today's video is about my sisterlocks wash routine. Although I really don't feel like it, I can't walk around all unkempt I suppose. Braiding and banding were necessary, because I braided the night before wash day, and I needed the braids to stay in-tact overnight

For Mature/Maturing locs
Re-tie update: I asked my stylist what she was spraying in my hair. It's a leave-in conditioner, which is says is okay because of the maturity of my locks (over 2 1/2 years now). Here it is:
Pravana Nevo Intense Therapy Leave-in Treatment amzn.to/3ONJPmx
Cheaper if you buy 2 amzn.to/3amaKqO
For your install day(s), I recommend multiple ways of keeping yourself entertained. I love audiobooks, so I would highly recommend audible. Here's a trial for audible premium plus (which includes one credit per month for an audiobook of your choice from the entire Audible catalog). Give it a shot for free and let me know what you think!

I use a hooded dryer on wash day too. It’s definitely useful!
Hi Rachel! Good to know it’s not just me! Thanks for watching!
@@CristaStylista I thought I was the only too lol. Cheers to a dry head 🤣
Hello I’m 4 months into my sister locs and so happy I ran across your page. Hope to learn some tips from you. New subscriber 👋🏽
Welcome Erica! Thanks for watching!
Hooded dryer makes sense to me. If I had one, I'd use it. Seeing as I don't own a hooded dryer, I just use a handheld dryer with a diffuser.
Thank you for this video. I just learned that I've been washing my hair wrong for a year🙄
Thanks for watching! I hope you’re loving your journey!
Beautiful braid out and hair. Love your sister locs
Thank you so much Song James!
All hail the Gorgeous queen 👸🏽😍
I’ve had my Sisterlocks for just a few months. This video is helpful because I’ve questioned if I was braiding, banding, and washing my hair correctly. Thank you for doing this video!
Hi Chinwendu! I'm so glad you found it helpful!
Loved this video and your work day outfit, cute cute cute 🥰. I don’t have a hair routine. I know my hair is dry like Texas lol this was a great video have an amazing day Tfs
Hi Robin! Thank you for watching! For years, my hair routine was: go to the shop, sit in the chair, pay the stylist, go home!
Hey Crista! Too funny! Enjoyed the video. I am approaching 9 months loc'd. Micros. I use Suave Clarifying shampoo mixed with a tiny bit of Dr Bronners Almond Castille soap (love the smell 🤩). I put the shampoos in a nozzled bottle with warm water prior to applying. I do not condition my hair for the same reasons as you. I braided and banded for every wash except my last as I thought I was ready to wash loose. And my last wash was great. So I no longer braid and band. I use oil and water to moisturize. Coconut oil and almond oil mix are my favorites. Very simple. Very easy. Very GREAT. I air dry my hair... it dries quickly. Then I pop my locs. Good to Go!😍😍😍
Hi! Thanks so much for sharing products and routine, I'm always open to learn!
Just subscribed I’m new here and I enjoyed your videos and locs I’m 2 yrs in and love my locs
Welcome! Thank you so much for watching and subscribing!
Hello, I sometimes use my hooded dryer if I'm in a rush or if it's late & I don't want to go to sleep with a wet head!
Hi, thanks for watching Twylals! I just don’t think I can let go of my hooded dryer!
Thanks for sharing your detailed wash steps. Love your hair and the fullness. I'm 6-months in.
I think you said you get a reti every 6 weeks. How often do you wash?
Thank you hey G! That’s right, I get a reti every 6 weeks and wash approximately every two weeks, including a wash day 1-2 days before my reti if needed.
Hello, I use the Carols Daughter Wash Day Delight shampoo as well. I also use the conditioner, but sparingly. Think my next wash I will omit the conditioner to see how my hair feels and if the roughness allows me more coverage in the crown area. I’ve been locked 3 years and 5 months, and always looking for tips for my hair. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching! Please share the results after your next washday-I'd love to know. Like you, I'm always looking for new haircare tips!
Almost a year and a half in and I’ve never had to use a dryer as my hair texture is thin so it generally dries after about 45 minutes to an hour of air drying while braided and banded. Then I take the braids out for a out 5-10 minutes to completely air dry and rebraid them closer to the root. I generally leave it in braids or bonnet until I actually need to do something (outside of my home) until the next morning.
Hi Tiffany and thanks for your detailed response! I may have to try this on a Saturday morning to see how long it takes my hair to dry. When it get's a bit longer (or I get a bit more skilled), I may opt for a braid style that I can wear out and about until my hair fully air dries.
@@CristaStylista go for it! I got these locks specifically to not have to do the things I would have to do as a loose natural. No dryers, product, major styling etc.
P.S. I absolutely love your locks
I love your hair, who was your consult?
