I was at Southwick both days watching Star practice and I don’t know where you got your information from, but there is no way Anstie was 6 seconds faster.
My uncles cousin works for the wick and he told me Deegs was struggling really bad and anstie was on rails on that star 250. We will see come next Saturday

I’m an ICU nurse in an ICU that was deemed the “Covid ICU” during the peak of the epidemic. Our unit specializes in respiratory and pulmonary issues. I'm just saying I watched the Gypsy interviews and it proves that the AMA is more concerned with making money than promoting motorcycling, or racing, or developing the next generation of riders and racers, or anything other than filling their pockets. I'll agree with the TMZ comparison but the bigger picture is there's fewer people buying motorcycles than 10, 20 or 30 years ago and it's because of the AMA. It crashed and burned in the 80's because of pressure from California legislators to eliminate two strokes. Then it dug it's own grave by allowing the big factory teams to dominate motocross instead of leaving it to the privateers. Supercross was designed for the factory teams so the privateers could use motocross for rider development. These days you never see a guy who showed up with a bike and a couple of friends dominate a motocross race. If you don't have big time big name money then it's almost impossible to be competitive. The death of privateer racing is the death of the sport. Motocross should be left to the little guys, not the Deegans and other factory names. There was a time when the only 18 wheeler at motocross was RC's factory team which is why kids today refer to him as the goat. Goat my ass...

The average RUclips creator makes $18 per 1000 views of advertising, not likes and subscribers. Supercross was designed to eliminate factory teams from motocross so privateers could win races. Claiming a bike was stupid because privateers can't afford titanium connecting rods. These days claiming a bike in motocross is controversial. Back in the 80's if you paid twice the price for a stock bike with a pipe you were considered an idiot. These days everybody in motocross is using professionally built engines. Privateers can't afford 15K for an engine. Your assertion that races are more popular is completely correct. Motocross is now considered "outdoor" instead of privateer, which reduces the number of people willing to travel cross-country and pay an entry fee. Thank you for your responses.
I thought there was so much more Davey could’ve talked about on the Gypsy Tales podcast. One thing I really wanted him to ask was why not let privateers race 250 two strokes in the 250 class. Also I wanted his opinion on aging out of the lites class. The Glen Helen seems like a mess. The way Davey explained it seems like it’s all GH fault like they didn’t want to be part of the pro motocross tour. Doesn’t make sense
The manufacturers don't want two strokes because they want to "race on Sunday, sell on Monday". The AMA doesn't want privateers because the big names sell more tickets. They discovered this when they started letting RC beat the privateers back in the day. The AMA created "The Goat" to sell more tickets.
Nobody is pointing out the fact that 3 of the 5 guys that finished better than a rookie deegan at south wick last year aren’t racing this season(Cooper, Hampshire and Hammaker)? Deegan isn’t finishing out of the top 3 at southwick with this current class. Anstie, regardless of if he’s faster or not, wont have 30 minutes in him. Surprised you haven't brought up the hypocrisy of MXSports saying its unreasonable for their employees/event staff, riders/teams, or media having to pay to attend the event (when in contract negotiations with Facilities). But MXSports makes teams/riders pay MXSports (not the Facility) to race the event. Seems like only MXSports (and Davey Coombs) is allowed to double dip in the cookie jar.
Haiden had worse results at Unadilla, Buds Creek and Unadilla last season than he did at Southwick (which was his first season riding the track). And yes, Anstie is fast in sand, but he didn't beat Herlings at Lommel; Herlings didn't race Lommel the year Max went 1-1 in 2016.

When you want to learn every inch of the Track ( Southwick). You don't go Mach-Jesus, you ride at 80% and figure out where the shortcuts are, and get a flow. Deegan's laptimes make sense.
Do you think the riders and teams should go on a strike? It happens in every major sport, why not ours? So much money coming in yet so little coming out and then they wonder why teams start folding and why bigger sponsors don’t want to come in. Too many greedy people who forgot who the ones are that actually bring in that money and all it would take to negotiate better deals for everyone is for everyone to strike.

Just watched "The Deegan's" new video posted today. It features Brian Deegan riding Haiden's Factory 250 around Southwick. I don't know if the team reported the 6 second difference. Or someone who was there watching & was timing and got fooled or mistaken about the true identity of the rider at that time on the #38 (Purple plate & yellow number). 6 seconds seems like a big number. Time will tell.

Did we forget that Southwick is a bike killer? I remember back in the 2 stroke days pro circuit would lower the compression of the motor so I would live. Big deal Max was faster but his chances of motor and clutch failure are higher. Not to mention fuel mileage. I remember seveal guys running out of fuel in past years.

Deegan is a racer, not a practicer. He will be fine on race day. I doubt he was pushing it out there and was just trying to figure out a good bike setup for now. I doubt he will win Southwick, he’s just not great in the sand, but he should be fine come race time.
That’s about where I have him. I think he will definitely be better than last year but I don’t see him improving that drastically in the sand to battle with Vialle. Honestly not even really sure who else is good in the sand besides Vialle. Obviously max, but idk if I see max being up there at race pace his first race on a brand new bike. His starts have been hurting him and I could see him having that same issue trying to figure out this new bike and if he gets stuck with a bad start around 10th or worse, I don’t see him making too many moves. Haiden might end up getting the holeshot after those horrible starts last race and we all know when he’s up front he is tough to pass, so he might just be able to figure it out and keep on winning. He just needs to make sure he doesn’t override the track and try too hard to win and just make it thru this one twice and not give up many points. Theres atleast 3 or 4 tracks left that he will be tough to beat or gain many points at after, so as long as he doesn’t screw up bad at SW, he will be looking really good for the title. Top 3 for Haiden in both motos would all but ice the title for him.

Not sure why you think just because Brian took haidens bike out for a few fun laps means that Haiden didn’t ride at all. Haiden even posted clips of him training at Southwick a day or two ago, so he was definitely there riding. Now if anstie was 6 seconds faster, who knows. He may have been, anstie is good in the sand and Haiden has struggled and it’s also just practice so Haiden isn’t going to go all out, but max would just to show star what he can do.

I'm just saying I watched the Gypsy interviews and it proves that the AMA is more concerned with making money than promoting motorcycling, or racing, or developing the next generation of riders and racers, or anything other than filling their pockets. I'll agree with the TMZ comparison but the bigger picture is there's fewer people buying motorcycles than 10, 20 or 30 years ago and it's because of the AMA. It crashed and burned in the 80's because of pressure from California legislators to eliminate two strokes. Then it dug it's own grave by allowing the big factory teams to dominate motocross instead of leaving it to the privateers. Supercross was designed for the factory teams so the privateers could use motocross for rider development. These days you never see a guy who showed up with a bike and a couple of friends dominate a motocross race. If you don't have big time big name money then it's almost impossible to be competitive. The death of privateer racing is the death of the sport. Motocross should be left to the little guys, not the Deegans and other factory names. There was a time when the only 18 wheeler at motocross was RC's factory team which is why kids today refer to him as the goat. Goat my ass...

The average RUclips creator makes $18 per 1000 views of advertising, not likes and subscribers. Supercross was designed to eliminate factory teams from motocross so privateers could win races. Claiming a bike was stupid because privateers can't afford titanium connecting rods. These days claiming a bike in motocross is controversial. Back in the 80's if you paid twice the price for a stock bike with a pipe you were considered an idiot. These days everybody in motocross is using professionally built engines. Privateers can't afford 15K for an engine. Your assertion that races are more popular is completely correct. Motocross is now considered "outdoor" instead of privateer, which reduces the number of people willing to travel cross-country and pay an entry fee. Thank you for your responses.

I thought there was so much more Davey could’ve talked about on the Gypsy Tales podcast. One thing I really wanted him to ask was why not let privateers race 250 two strokes in the 250 class. Also I wanted his opinion on aging out of the lites class. The Glen Helen seems like a mess. The way Davey explained it seems like it’s all GH fault like they didn’t want to be part of the pro motocross tour. Doesn’t make sense
The manufacturers don't want two strokes because they want to "race on Sunday, sell on Monday". The AMA doesn't want privateers because the big names sell more tickets. They discovered this when they started letting RC beat the privateers back in the day. The AMA created "The Goat" to sell more tickets.

Nobody is pointing out the fact that 3 of the 5 guys that finished better than a rookie deegan at south wick last year aren’t racing this season(Cooper, Hampshire and Hammaker)? Deegan isn’t finishing out of the top 3 at southwick with this current class. Anstie, regardless of if he’s faster or not, wont have 30 minutes in him. Nobody in the 250s can match deegans stamina atm. I’m calling deegan for the win or at worst 2nd overall to Vialle 👍🏻

Surprised you haven't brought up the hypocrisy of MXSports saying its unreasonable for their employees/event staff, riders/teams, or media having to pay to attend the event (when in contract negotiations with Facilities). But MXSports makes teams/riders pay MXSports (not the Facility) to race the event. Seems like only MXSports (and Davey Coombs) is allowed to double dip in the cookie jar.

Haiden had worse results at Unadilla, Buds Creek and Unadilla last season than he did at Southwick (which was his first season riding the track). And yes, Anstie is fast in sand, but he didn't beat Herlings at Lommel; Herlings didn't race Lommel the year Max went 1-1 in 2016.
I dont know why everyone is worried about Max...even if he is fast he is not going to smoke Deegan and hes not even in the chase unless Haiden got hurt

D’you think Star Yamaha have signed Max thinking he won’t be competing for wins ? He’s arrived too late for championship contention, but he will win races & he is certainly able to beat (smoke!) Deegan.
Bare in mind Max is actually a MX rider first & foremost, not really a SX rider, hadn’t even gone near SX in probably 10 years, yet he managed to compete at SX at the front & win on that 2nd rate Firepower Honda, plus remember that bike cost him another win when it just stopped when he was leading comfortably.
So what d’you think he can do in MX, his real strength, on a top bike ?? You might be in for a surprise.

He’s only ever done a handful of AMA races & on inferior private machines. On the right bike he’ll win race.

I don't understand why WSX dosent have more rounds in Europe where most "world" events are held they have thise huge soccer (⚽ football) stadiums and MX is big there and have a few fly aways loke mxgp...if fim was smart they would try to out together a WSX season and then an outdoor MXGP SEASON for the riders like the US does with the wsx being a shorter season they could def pull it off and that would create huge competition for ama

When you want to learn every inch of the Track ( Southwick). You don't go Mach-Jesus, you ride at 80% and figure out where the shortcuts are, and get a flow. Deegan's laptimes make sense.
Do you think the riders and teams should go on a strike? It happens in every major sport, why not ours? So much money coming in yet so little coming out and then they wonder why teams start folding and why bigger sponsors don’t want to come in. Too many greedy people who forgot who the ones are that actually bring in that money and all it would take to negotiate better deals for everyone is for everyone to strike.
What’s with the laughing emoji? As much as I’d hate to see it just because we may have to miss quite a bit of racing, it needs to happen so the riders and teams quit getting taken advantage of.

Just my thoughts. I love this style of quick information disgusts, but you got to make sure your reporting factual or things won't grow. Such as; the social media rumor about Star renting the track, it was an open public practice (If I'm wrong there would be uproars if factory teams keep buying out track prior to national.) The Max being 6 seconds faster was another social media click bait. I think it's important to state that certain things are unconfirmed rumors. Sincerely, I mean the best and hope for the channel to grow.

Just watched "The Deegan's" new video posted today. It features Brian Deegan riding Haiden's Factory 250 around Southwick. I don't know if the team reported the 6 second difference. Or someone who was there watching & was timing and got fooled or mistaken about the true identity of the rider at that time on the #38 (Purple plate & yellow number). 6 seconds seems like a big number. Time will tell.
That is very possible, I was told by a bystander and Southwick local.
I would be shocked if Brian was only 6 seconds behind Max.

As far as Glen Helen, it’s business. If they can’t come to an agreement then no national. If every other track agrees to the same terms why can’t they? It’s all money. I guess MXS could give in to their demands and then have to do the same everywhere else. My biggest problem is $90 to see a race.
I just watched the footage of Max Anstie. He looked fast some areas but didn’t see him complete a full lap at 100% on the footage I saw.

Did we forget that Southwick is a bike killer? I remember back in the 2 stroke days pro circuit would lower the compression of the motor so I would live. Big deal Max was faster but his chances of motor and clutch failure are higher. Not to mention fuel mileage. I remember seveal guys running out of fuel in past years.
So same could happen to anyone then…..

Deegan is a racer, not a practicer. He will be fine on race day. I doubt he was pushing it out there and was just trying to figure out a good bike setup for now. I doubt he will win Southwick, he’s just not great in the sand, but he should be fine come race time.

That’s about where I have him. I think he will definitely be better than last year but I don’t see him improving that drastically in the sand to battle with Vialle.
Honestly not even really sure who else is good in the sand besides Vialle. Obviously max, but idk if I see max being up there at race pace his first race on a brand new bike. His starts have been hurting him and I could see him having that same issue trying to figure out this new bike and if he gets stuck with a bad start around 10th or worse, I don’t see him making too many moves.
Haiden might end up getting the holeshot after those horrible starts last race and we all know when he’s up front he is tough to pass, so he might just be able to figure it out and keep on winning. He just needs to make sure he doesn’t override the track and try too hard to win and just make it thru this one twice and not give up many points.
Theres atleast 3 or 4 tracks left that he will be tough to beat or gain many points at after, so as long as he doesn’t screw up bad at SW, he will be looking really good for the title. Top 3 for Haiden in both motos would all but ice the title for him.

Why do yall think its not possible for Anstie to run 6 seconds faster than "the Deegs". Danger boy was running 6 seconds faster at the end of last weekends race. Anstie is in shape, injury free and fast outdoors! So what it was a test. Testing settings and getting more comfortable. They wasn't there to see who was the fastest. It was to be prepared for the race. Social media, man is the death of the USA, everyone's opinion is the gospel. 😂

The fan turn out there is like 25,000, why don't they just ask for 10,000 tickets while they are at it. The #38 vid showed a flashy rider expending a lot of energy and not moving forward, Anstie is a sand veteran so a 6 second lap difference would not be surprising.

How do you know? Haiden was also there… just because Brian rode haidens bike a few laps doesn’t mean Haiden didn’t also. Not sure why you think just because Brian took haidens bike out for a few fun laps means that Haiden didn’t ride at all. Haiden even posted clips of him training at Southwick a day or two ago, so he was definitely there riding. Now if anstie was 6 seconds faster, who knows. He may have been, anstie is good in the sand and Haiden has struggled and it’s also just practice so Haiden isn’t going to go all out, but max would just to show star what he can do.
