There is a caveat (that recently came up on the forums, don’t think it was widely known before then) - if a commander of the infantry section is killed, they can no longer be selected. Additionally, infantry section of an APC squad cannot remove mines.
If you ask developers, a “bug” is only something that does not work as intended :) So under that definition, the former is not a bug - it was Andrey who explained why someone could not select infantry section, so that’s intended, even if not universally desired. The latter wasn’t acknowledged one way or the other.
@@arkadiy9321 Iirc it was something about chain of command puting the APC commander in charge of all the force. Even if it's not technically a bug, I hope they fix it.
By the way I am using “squad” and “section” somewhat loosely in this case (apologies if this is causing confusion). Strictly speaking Section > Squad, for example in ww2 US rifle company’s weapons platoon there is mortar section, which in turn consists of 3 60mm mortar squads. So not sure how to correctly refer to just APC and just troops of mounted infantry (maybe “team” is appropriate?)
how to react in an air raid....can i hide my arty? will smoke barrrage work against planes.....why dont my Units shoott at planes ...even when "firing planes" is on? can u tell me plz?
There isn't much you can do about air. Units on the ground are virtually ineffective against them, and it's best to hide. I recommend turning the fire at planes OFF so they don't reveal their positions. Sometimes you're just going to get wrecked.
