So great to get to see these! I wonder if I would have seen them when they first aired...? I would have been 8, but I may have snuck out of bed into the living room to find the TV on and my mom asleep in her chair. My dad and sisters would've been asleep so I would have been able to watch the TV without getting myself in trouble. My parents would send us to bed if they had company or something important to discuss, so I began to get a little FOMO, which made me want to stay up later. It would have definitely been a school night, because it was a Tuesday, and these clips were taken from during the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. I probably would have been ramping up my excitement over the upcoming halloween trick-or-treat opportunity to score some candy. I would have probably had a Casper the friendly ghost or maybe Sylvester the cat halloween costume. I can remember the box they came in. They would have had a cheap plastic mask, which I would have hated because I would have sweated in it. Sometimes I think it might be nice to be able to go back to that world for maybe just a brief moment, but I guess this is about as close as I'll get. It also is of note to me that as I look at these commercials, I see bits and pieces of things that I remember. Like I remember that bit in the Wonder bread commercial where the girl is magically growing up right before our eyes, doubtlessly because of eating Wonder bread! I also remember Henry Fonda in the GAF flooring commercial and Betty White for Spray 'n Wash, although I never would have gotten anywhere near the laundry machine and I was never tasked with scrubbing the kitchen floor, thankfully! I remember the Philco TV commercial where the guy was cutting the box and I also remember the Chase & Sanborn commercial with the football players. Not that any of those things were particularly meaningful milestones but they do, in an odd way, bring you back to a very different world that existed 50 years ago. Thank you for posting!

I figured I might make a note about _Play Misty for Me,_ which I saw on Amazon Prime Video last year, and for which a partial TV spot appears here. This, Clint Eastwood's directorial debut, was quite a good film. Genuinely suspenseful and, at times, frightening, and pulled off well by an actor then in a transitional phase from a spaghetti western hero to an urban action star.
I was 3 years old at that time. Commercials were much different then.
Back then, Pillsbury's Poppin' Fresh was a stop motion puppet, now he's a CGI character.
Also, when Spam was reasonably edible. 😅
