Arcane Viktor isn't game Viktor at all in S2. The reason he gets the third arm in S2 in the first place is because game/main line canon Viktor has one, so making the VU End-of-Arcane Viktor is literally backwards. Just. I want the transhumanist who helps Zaunites by replacing their injured or deformed limbs with tech because that's true of both Viktors, the path to that in the show is only barred by the Hexcore getting roped into the Void shenanigans, which works fine in the show but. Just. Ugh, I'm just disappointed by a vast multitude of unnecessarily convoluted decisions here.

Why couldn't they just let it be its own thing? Marvel does just fine keeping their comic universes and MCU seperate. Why couldnt arcane just have its own seperate canon they sell skins and do events for?? They already have multiple universes and timelines anyway. Sigh.
9:40 during the climax on top of the piltover tower he did cover it with a storm and even in the alternate future jayce landed that storm was still there and he had to get past it to reach his alt self's corpse
Still, such a minor thing he did considering the emphasis in other of his actions that make the statement "a growing storm, just like in arcane" baffling when the main point of the characters was the puppeteering/mind control with a small laser reference for the fans of the game
As you noted with his ultimate, Viktor's gameplay just doesn't accomplish the fantasy of Viktor in Arcane. To me, he almost steps into the realm of "seer/harbinger of mind-breaking knowledge" but his gameplay is still just I shoot beams at people and create fields that slow and shoot lightning. If anything, they should have just made a separate champion for this Viktor, and called him something else if they wanted to represent him in League.

“That’s not what he does in arcane” Despite what seems to be a common consensus, I absolutely love the end of Arcane season 2 That being said, I absolutely hate that it’s canon. Riot as a company had demonstrated they don’t or can’t care about managing their lore, and this shows exactly why. Old Viktor had been retconned by Arcane taking precedence. So okay, cool you give him his show design. But then they can’t even commit to that, nowhere does Viktor use fields of blue energy and there’s no theming of him as an “all consuming storm”, like, they don’t even have it in the colours of the anomaly. Canonising Arcane has been two toned, desperate, and it’s gonna go the way of old lore reboots where half the characters get left in the dust
i can’t agree with a take more than this. personally, despite criticisms i hold of the finale, i thought it was great - not perfect, but still gut wrenching, powerful, and narratively satisfying. i haven’t been so satisfied with a show probably since fmab (and i could write an essay on how roy’s ending irt Having Eyes was cheap garbage. criticism is a love language!!) but… they literally introduce the multiverse into the show and don’t go “and the in game characters are from their own separate universe!!!” like it’s so EASY it’s such a GIMME. arcane took pre-existing characters and adjusted them to tell the narrative of a specific story, a story that just straight up doesn’t work for a fighting game with hundreds of characters.

It would be so cool to see Mel as a parry support. She would have weak attacks but could deflect damage directed towards her allies. Like a Fiora mage tank, maybe?
Exactly, League Viktor could conjure a singularity using the tech he designed. This visual update has nothing in common with what it's replacing, it's removing the mad scientist engineer from the game and putting in another pure mage who shares too many similarities with Karthus, Malzahar and Syndra visually. All other champions received only Arcane skins, Viktor should also have received it only as a skin, and no visual rework...
Man… I’m kinda sad that we’re losing the “machine man” from League in favor of a last-minute discount Ultron. I’m also a bit worried that the skins just don’t feel related to his current concept at all… Creator Viktor especially just looks odd.
So happy to hear that I am not alone with my disappointment in the direction of Mel's character. Feels like quite a downgrade, and she added so much more to the story without her mage powerup.

Riot in a Nutshell 1) gives Legends of Runeterra full reign to make lore stuff 2) LoR gives context to what exactly happened during the Darkin war and even who started it. (Xolaani kicked the war into full effect by using her blood magic to turn their whole army into supersolider thralls) 3) LoL announces that they are releasing a new Darkin next... everyone assumes it's Xolaani, as it would be perfect... and it's Naafiri... 4) Riot confused by the mixed reaction, checks on LoR. finds them writing Lore that is overshadowing LoL, takes the team apart. 4.5) Janna redesign releases in LoR because they already had it made by then 5) Riot "Focuses" on their Lore, doing basically nothing. fixing exactly 1 champ, Skarner. no Shaco, No Orianna, No Corki, No Janna, No Rumble, No Blitzcrank, No Brand, No Cass, No Kassadin, No Malzahar, No Sona and No Zilean. 6) Fire some of their staff, twice. best part is... we know they had good writers. the way the told a story via flavor text in LoR was great. but the main branch Riot got involved and it all went away. they can talk about Lore and Writing all they want, but i know if Main Branch Riot has their hands in it. it's going to be halfassed by design... i was excited for us to Get "Glorious Evolution", i was even ok with this Bio-mechanical stuff. expecting it to lean more mechanical later... but nope...
These bloody petals are making me think Bard might be the single best champion next season. A champion who gets experience for roaming, now now able to give exp to their entire team any time they roam? Sounds broken. We'll see when the numbers are finalized if it'll be an issue.
I feel you at the end there. I've stopped playing the game, and yet I keep taking in league content and watching gameplay and arcane and reading the stories. Heck, I'm even writing symphonic music based on characters and locations. I just like the idea of the game more than the actual game itself.
Huge fan of Viktor in season 2 and i feel he for the most part still captures the character i liked in lol lore. However i have 2 issues, 1 his design really doesn't show off enough mechnical aspects that are supposed to be there, he has gears and metal already in the show just do more and make it stand out amongst all that shimmery purple. Also his gameplay in game is nothing at all like his Arcane version like they were scared or change so they have the worst of both worlds where his character just doesn't work rn.
i never realised that GP "dying" was a bug I was a GP main when they reworked him and i thought it was sick as hell that he was gone until the full rework hit
I don't like that they kept the old kit in most parts tbh I wished they just went with something more elegant and reshaped a lot of his abilities. The Ultimate being the massive storm to my understanding is the storm victor creates as he elevates the Anomaly above the hex gate - creating the chaos storm. so I understand that, but its weirdly phrased
Cant wait to see TB takes on the arcane review, id also love to see a reaction to Necrits interview video with the co producer of Arcane, there are some interesting things discussed there abt the future of the Lore with this whole Arcane being canon now
I fully sympathize with the Victor fans that are upset, and I think the re-design should be left as a skin, but also... guys, Victor's not dead at the end of Arcane 🤣. He's gonna get to the metal robot guy stage eventually, they just aren't there yet with the media. (And in that Necrit interview it basically confirms Heimerdinger is still kicking too). It's not de-cannonized, the media just has not gotten to that phase yet. Again, I absolutely think it should have been its own skin but we also don't have to panic.
I mean, to be fair, since season 1 I was wondering if a potential season 3 wouldn't take place in Noxus... Oh man, I remember when a guy got angry while playing a Normal game in Wild Rift. Against A.I. set to easy, of all things.
while predatory, I do think battle passes arent that great of an evil? It's less about neurodivergent tendencies and more about just susceptibility to addiction/gambling (which scope would extend beyond just league). there are definitely greater personal problem to address if any individual feel constantly compelled to spend on the battle pass (ie. self destructive spending habits. mental disorders, ocd, etc. eating disorders. actual gambling problems. drug addiction, etc.) personally managed to finish faker's battle pass (supposedly one of the best value ones to release in forever) and just like every pass before and after, never felt compelled to throw any cash at riot for it. and I'm not against giving riot money either. if they release some really compelling skins for my mains, maybe I pick 1 per year at max and buy it. the bigger, base problem then is just people with bad self-control having access to league, considering there exists children players, etc. but then the issue of limiting screentime (to 1 hour per day, cough cough) isn't a responsibility that needs to or should fall on riot
I like Arcane Viktor but he shouldn't be the same as League Viktor. I'll miss the robot guy. Even if they kept flipflopping between completely evil and antihero who is trying to better humanity.
I don’t like Viktor’s new design for the game cause his character design in arcane is just “the mage” he’s supposed to be the archetypal mage, the perfect manifestation of the arcane. Skyen mentions this but yeah, because he’s just “the mage”, new Viktor intrudes upon the character archetypes of many other mages ingame like Syndra, Ryze, Hwei, and Xerath. His design works for the show but not for the game where mages are supposed to be more diverse.
I feel ya, I love the game, but the community is just so easy to rage, to get mad at people, to say some very not nice things. I dunno if it's because of Arcane or that time of the year, but I've been running into a lot of tilted players that will throw a tantrum, purposefully die or straight up quit. But I still love it. I've been playing custom games versus bots a lot. To make it a bit more fair (since I am a human) I only add 2 bots on my side vs 5 bots on enemy side. It's really fun and you can absolutely lose if you're not careful. If you wanna play the game without the toxicity, that's the way. Now praying they add more champs as options for the bots and more complexity to them. Great video as well.
TB, you're getting burnt out, seriously, it's affecting your quality. Legit please watch the Necrit video, it's an _interview_ it's not about "vibes." It should assuage some concerns.

I am going to be honest, I was already having a hard time as a Lore invested player with the end of Arcane, and listening to you be so negative didn't help. Any way I hope all you have a nice day
Attakhan is actually a very powerful game finishing follower from LoR, with a really cool design, which does not translate here... in other words, they ruined it... again, and did so taking from a game they left on life support.
I really disagree with that take about arcane season 2 catering to lol. The Noxus Stuff was already set up in season 1 as soon as Ambessa became relevant, and Mel got integrated into Noxus via the black rose, not just because of becoming a champion. Its also the narrative of her still using the powers to fight like a Noxian to return to Noxus. That entire rant was really random and is not really Supported by anything except Headcanon. And "I just watched it its not what he does in arcane" is so wrong. His Plan, if it succeeds, literally causes a huge Storm over Piltover, so yes, that is what he does. The laser was already his E since he was playable
Can't wait to see Mel as a champion, I hope they mirror the iconic scene from Arcane in which she dual-wields machine guns.

Me hearing "Maybe there is something here worth reacting to", and then looking the video's runtime.
I’m very sad about Viktor he’s now just malzahar in a body suit :/
It would’ve been a very cool legendary
VGU champs need a Traditional skin, im REALLY gonna wish the mechanical Viktor cause battle cast doesnt look robotic at all
Riot in a Nutshell
1) gives Legends of Runeterra full reign to make lore stuff
2) LoR gives context to what exactly happened during the Darkin war and even who started it. (Xolaani kicked the war into full effect by using her blood magic to turn their whole army into supersolider thralls)
3) LoL announces that they are releasing a new Darkin next... everyone assumes it's Xolaani, as it would be perfect... and it's Naafiri...
4) Riot confused by the mixed reaction, checks on LoR. finds them writing Lore that is overshadowing LoL, takes the team apart.
4.5) Janna redesign releases in LoR because they already had it made by then
5) Riot "Focuses" on their Lore, doing basically nothing. fixing exactly 1 champ, Skarner. no Shaco, No Orianna, No Corki, No Janna, No Rumble, No Blitzcrank, No Brand, No Cass, No Kassadin, No Malzahar, No Sona and No Zilean.
6) Fire some of their staff, twice.
best part is... we know they had good writers. the way the told a story via flavor text in LoR was great. but the main branch Riot got involved and it all went away.
they can talk about Lore and Writing all they want, but i know if Main Branch Riot has their hands in it. it's going to be halfassed by design... i was excited for us to Get "Glorious Evolution", i was even ok with this Bio-mechanical stuff. expecting it to lean more mechanical later... but nope...
Today I learnt the term FOMO: Fear Of Missing Out.
These bloody petals are making me think Bard might be the single best champion next season. A champion who gets experience for roaming, now now able to give exp to their entire team any time they roam? Sounds broken. We'll see when the numbers are finalized if it'll be an issue.
I'm 10 minutes in and this feels like a (reasonable) frustration vent video
I feel you at the end there. I've stopped playing the game, and yet I keep taking in league content and watching gameplay and arcane and reading the stories. Heck, I'm even writing symphonic music based on characters and locations. I just like the idea of the game more than the actual game itself.
I could listen to skyen yap about anything INCLUDING a game he doesn’t play (ranked) ((league of legends))
10:15 close enough welcome back pre-rework yorick
0:58 You sound so tired 😭
Huge fan of Viktor in season 2 and i feel he for the most part still captures the character i liked in lol lore. However i have 2 issues, 1 his design really doesn't show off enough mechnical aspects that are supposed to be there, he has gears and metal already in the show just do more and make it stand out amongst all that shimmery purple. Also his gameplay in game is nothing at all like his Arcane version like they were scared or change so they have the worst of both worlds where his character just doesn't work rn.
I love seeing you vent over Riot decisions to kill the current lore, we all feel that way, Skyen.
i never realised that GP "dying" was a bug
I was a GP main when they reworked him and i thought it was sick as hell that he was gone until the full rework hit
Honestly you should see Jayce as leaning towards the tech side of Hextech and Viktor as leaning towards the magic side of Hextech now.
Again, I absolutely think it should have been its own skin but we also don't have to panic.
am i delusional or is atakhan derived from a turkic name? if so thats really cool :)
I mean, to be fair, since season 1 I was wondering if a potential season 3 wouldn't take place in Noxus...
Oh man, I remember when a guy got angry while playing a Normal game in Wild Rift. Against A.I. set to easy, of all things.
37:57 We want to simplify, but all of these elements have a ton of moving parts to them...
while predatory, I do think battle passes arent that great of an evil? It's less about neurodivergent tendencies and more about just susceptibility to addiction/gambling (which scope would extend beyond just league). there are definitely greater personal problem to address if any individual feel constantly compelled to spend on the battle pass (ie. self destructive spending habits. mental disorders, ocd, etc. eating disorders. actual gambling problems. drug addiction, etc.)
personally managed to finish faker's battle pass (supposedly one of the best value ones to release in forever) and just like every pass before and after, never felt compelled to throw any cash at riot for it. and I'm not against giving riot money either. if they release some really compelling skins for my mains, maybe I pick 1 per year at max and buy it. the bigger, base problem then is just people with bad self-control having access to league, considering there exists children players, etc. but then the issue of limiting screentime (to 1 hour per day, cough cough) isn't a responsibility that needs to or should fall on riot
Damn i really wanted a gameplay rework of Viktor too
It would be sad if LoR get shuttered next year, while Atakhan shows up in League.
Normals are already competitive light sadly, ultra swift play v2.19 is finally our salvation on 2036
I like Arcane Viktor but he shouldn't be the same as League Viktor.
Great video as well.
i honestly don't even look at the paymium rewards.
damn so the shyvana update will not be coming at least until the demacia season then
I just love how every viktor mains hate the new viktor, but arcane fans love it...
i'll miss viktor :c
So um... We got Xerath 2 i guess?
TB, you're getting burnt out, seriously, it's affecting your quality. Legit please watch the Necrit video, it's an _interview_ it's not about "vibes."
It should assuage some concerns.
I am going to say this as kindly as I can: you are not the steward of my mental state, I do not take advice from strangers on the internet, and I will watch whatever I want when I feel like watching it. Kindly mind your own business, _stranger._
@@3BSkyen this comment isn't advice about your mental state per se, it's just stating the impression that your demeanor in the video left to this viewer. This seems like a very personal response from you to what's more or less an impersonal recommendation to watch another piece of content
Hey there just wanted to say your content has been great and sadly arcane analysis very onpoint 😭, but dont forget to take care of yourself. You sound very drained in the vid
Love and hugs
Atakhan is an LoR card
An hour of content? Quite generous of you to leave me the other 23 for myself today and tonight! oh and, I agree with some of the other comments, take a break from league if you need to, it certainly sounds like you could use one anyway.
is there any way to be apart of the discord?? :)
Sounds wierd but you might need someone to bounce ideas off of.
I don't know why you think I don't have that.
@3BSkyen In real time brother.
I am going to be honest, I was already having a hard time as a Lore invested player with the end of Arcane, and listening to you be so negative didn't help. Any way I hope all you have a nice day
Shyvanna rework not coming in 2025 btw... The riot special
Where did they say that?
I am very pro-capitalist
i love the cynicism, keep it up
Attakhan is actually a very powerful game finishing follower from LoR, with a really cool design, which does not translate here... in other words, they ruined it... again, and did so taking from a game they left on life support.
HELLLOOOOOO
Very strong opinions, I can respect it. Begrudgingly.
The laser was already his E since he was playable
damn 51 seconds ago
Hard disagree on hextech part, the exist of hextech system really benefit most of the f2p player and low spender . I spent like
"who cares about gambling addicts"
The sh** people will just say with a straight face, sometimes. Fix your heart.
