viktor going so far at the end of arcane raise so many questions about... well... the actual gods and god-like being in runeterra, like ryze, aurelion sol and the aspects.
i have never seen a show get as overtly philosophical as viktor in s2
who knows, maybe they didnt thought about it and just to tell an amazing story they wouldnt use the "calamity avoider" character like bard or ryze u3u
I kinda don't like how they decided to make Viktor piltover's "Ascended" / MalzaTron 2.0, or at least not all in 1 episode. But whatever, hopefully stories or other materials are released to fill in the gaps that were made.

All that was needed for both Piltover and Zaun to know peace was for Vi to die.

In fact, Vi's death was only the reason why hextech never existed in that world. The rest was caused by Heimer, who knew what the future would be like if he left Zaun in misery, and by Silco and Vander. In that universe, Silco did not create the shimmer and got thousands of Zaunites addicted to it.

Ambessa is super integral to season two and also a well written character (obvs not as well as Silco). Pretty sure her involvement is also going to kick off where they land in the next series which I'm sure is going to take place in noxus if the three-eyed raven is any indication. Also what does her being a twink lover have anything to do with anything?
@@Cilka_Sganarell There is no s3 for Piltover/Zaun, because they will explore other regions, more champions. There will be new shows, most likely Noxus/Ionia is next.

Ekko carried the ending, he's the GOAT, but the whole three acts could be avoided if Jayce let Vicktor see in his head and show him the future, but his murder lover boner is too strong for him and want to try out his new hammer, also Silco needs to be playable in the future, lol
From Jayce's perspective Viktor is on his way to ending the world and both can't be trusted amd needs to be destroyed as fast as possible, obviously it was really bad timing and in the end he was able to reason with him but with the information given to him he acted rationally
Though Jayce really couldn't have known it any better because imagine travelling to a future where everything is dead nobody is around. And then the future Version of your partner gives you a f*cking obersized hammer and sents you back, where you find a person who clearly isn't really alive anymore and you learn the reason is your partner, having constantly visions of the Monsters you fought and then you see your friend just flying in the air. I mean ofc you decide to kill him because you don’t know what he might do if he wakes up to end it fast. Jayce had no instructions whatsoever on how to deal with the threat.

2:09 100% I think people saying the season sucked is completely absurd. I'm like first compared to what? arcane? It's stupid to try to compare it to anything else. Are we saying that it's art isn't the best? it's worldbuilding still isn't the best? The dialogue still isn't the best? It's animation still isn't the best? On top of that s2 has some of the best scenes of the entire series. The Sevica's new arm scene, Caitlin's ascension scene, The Warwick prison scene, Warwicks embrace, Isha's goodbye scene, all of episode seven, best of the show. Ekko and Jinx's last dance. The Jumping right into battle, That war, just wow. Their entrance, Mel and Caitlin vs Ambesa. Just the repeated emotional destruction this show puts you through. Specifically this season. I agree with the problems, I was pissed at Vi at the end just like the critics, and I wanted to spend more time on certain scenes. That doesn't at all take away what they have accomplished here. What I don't agree with, is that it takes it below anything that can be considered a masterpiece. I loved it.
I personally think just episodes 8 and 9 sucked. And even then, episode 8 wasn't nearly as bad as episode 9. I loved the first 7 episodes, I was wholly and utterly invested in them. The music was better than season 1, I liked how they developed Jinx and made her likable again, and all of the scenes that you mentioned before episode 8 were amazing! Well, except for the dance, but that's because I didn't like the music for that one. Personal taste, you can't account for it all the time. But the ending pulled me right out of it all, whereas in season 1, the last act was pulling me even deeper into the story. And it's not like episode 9 is so bad it's unsalvageable; if they had been able to expand episode 7 into its own act, explore more of the alternate universe and more of Viktor's evolving moral code, and then had an entire act to focus on the Noxian war, then MAYBE I would find it better. But it just frustrated me at every turn with how rushed it felt to me, especially when the rest of the show didn't feel that way despite being similarly content-dense.
I think I agree with you.
I think there where some holes. LikebCaits emotional and ideological development as a dictator. We dont see any of that. We pretty much jump from her "crowning" to her parting ways with Ambessa and helping Vi.
And I am actually really angry with how they killed Isha, her death is not even commented on afterwards. I think in that way the writers treated her with the same cruelty the world around her (ecept Jinx) does.
They basicly fridged her and thats just not cool.
I think if they had taken more time telling the story and letting us see the characters as intimately as in S1 the story and the humanity of the characters would have greatly benefited.
But despite all of that.
The only piece of cinema Arcane S2 is surpassed by is Arcane S1.
And nothing else comes even close.

I much more prefer S1 and S2 A1, it was more pieced together, without so much information. the time skip in the middle of S2 was a bad idea, Immo it would be much better if they made S2 around Caitlyn more and more taking over piltover, with her wicked desire to hunt down Jinx, as well as Jinx herself getting closer to Isha and deciding to hide instead of running so Isha is safe with her. we could even see Jayce going more and more insane in another universe, while haimer and Ekko experiment more with what's left of unstablelazed hex cores, to recreate the anomaly, getting more attached to the world around them making that leap much harder for them to take, and S3 would be the same as if time skip happened, with additional 3 episodes, maybe after the hole tragedy, or to load off some of the things that happened in A2 and 3 so it's easier to understand the whole plot
@karixonos2352 That's a very good point, actually! I forgot about the dissonance of the time skip because of episode 6 and act 3, but starting act 2 was really rough. I felt like they recovered pretty well by the end, but you're absolutely right, an extra act to account for that time skip would have been way better!

Jinx's sit-downs still the best
Well Ambessa is the instigator of many events. Without her the memorial wouldn’t even have been disrupted meaning Caitlyn probably wouldn’t have flipped. Without Ambessa they wouldn’t have won over Singed, wouldn’t have been able to find Warwick and Victors “sanctuary” meaning Cait and Vi wouldn’t have reunited in the way they did. Ambessa is an important part of the puzzle, although I do agree the time of the black rose plot could’ve been used so much better
Viktor's line about the end of pursuit really sticks with me.

i dont think it was necessarily vis death that made silco n vander reconcile n save zaun- by that day of vis death silco was already with some massive crimeboss, full of resentment, and investing in singeds work, it is possible vis death couldve been a catalyst to make amends with vander but unlikely and especially unlikely to change his mind about any of the plans he has in place or resentment he might feel plus, the point of time ekko came into was 7 years later from vis death, i dont think zaun could become that prosperious from where it was 7 years ago- it rlly does all seem like what happened was silco found that letter, they made amends way earlier on and silco never became a crimeboss nor invested in singed- so shimmer is never made, we never see any shimmer in that universe- and they work to raise up zaun together and if by the time of vis death is all because they went to try a job to make money cause its still rough out in zaun- i think more likely because of vis death that not only did they excile jayce and destroy his hextech work, did they then hear from not only vander but silco too to convince the council of the desperations theyve gone to to survive that even children will try ot take that survival into their own hands and put themselves in danger-- liiiike i think it seems more likely it was the leter- especially because too by the time of vis deaths shimmer was basically finished and made by nightfall, so even if silco didnt wanna work with singed anymore he still couldve gone on his own and purposely or accidently sent shimmer or smthn out into zaun- which we obviously see nothing of in the good universe
i think were just seeing the ultimately good but still one tragic universe because riot will not let vi and jinx/powder be sister together they just have to show us all the parallel universes where they just cant find happiness

more like Isha is the powder that should've been. you notice parallels like when isha threw the mouser in epi 2 and it exploded whereas in epi one powder's mouser didn't. or she unitifies all of the people around her but powder is the dividing force in the trio(mylo, claggor, and vi). and the most important, when isha overloads an hextech weapon to help she ended up saving the people she cared about alive and powder's weapon killed everyone.

True also I’m pretty sure In one of the last 3 episodes (I looked for the exact scene but I couldn’t find it) it showed viktor opening his eyes and seeing jayce’s dead body from episode 7. So maybe he didn’t even really see viktor in season 2 episode 6 but rather just jayce’s body. I think that also may partially explain why he didn’t dodge or try to defend himself. It’s so hard for me to explain the scene without having a timestamp and the episode but basically I don’t think jayce was in the right headspace to talk, and viktor didn’t understand what was going on anyway.

I noticed that Vi gets way sloppier when she gets too much "power".
My friend she faced Sevika with shimmer and metalical arm and won, and still with the atlas gauntlets almost lose, she shouldnt be a match for her, but still barely won.

4:54 Mel and the black rose is likely going to be the storyline of the next show they make, given how riot said there’s other storylines to explore in the universe. They also at some point show a raven with 3 eyes which is supposed to be some sort of black rose villain in the game (someone please correct me if I’m wrong or feel free to add to what I said, I don’t play league but I like reading what lore connects to the show) but yeah in my opinion the black rose is definitely a part of something bigger so I’d personally assume it might be the next plotline
I do know that the three eyed raven belongs to Swain. One of the leaders of Noxus. I know he's associated with Leblanc but I don't think he's part of black rose. Noxus is a very domineering empire so I wouldn't be surprised if the next show took place somewhere else and Swaine/Noxus was just a recurring theme and looming threat.
