Man, Most Unfair Game Criticism is such a fun question, and I wanted to stand and applaud Dan's answer, because it would have been mine too. Even among people who seem to really like TLOU2, so many of them qualify their appreciation with "I know the story's not as good as the first one," and it drives me loony. The story isn't only good, and it's not only better than the original, but I think it's genuinely the greatest piece of storytelling in the entire games medium. It utilizes game mechanics, player/character assumed empathy, and player/character friction to tell its story in a way that wouldn't be possible in other mediums, and it's working on a thematic and emotional level that very few games even dream of attempting. Just a masterclass in challenging storytelling that a lot of gamers and modern audiences don't know how to handle.
Also, I have to applaud Valve for giving GTA V refunds. I've been dealing with a similar but even worse situation on Meta's PC VR store this week. I bought the Batman Arkham VR game years ago, but since then it was updated in a way that broke their motion controller support, so they straight up delisted it AND took down the server authentication system. So even though it's a single player game, if you own it on the Meta store and try to play it, it won't launch. I feel like that should be an unquestioned refund, but they're fighting me on it because I've owned it for more than 14 days. So seeing Valve be so pro-consumer on this (even at the expense of Rockstar) makes me far more likely to purchase games on their platform than Meta, and dampens my interest in a Quest 3.

Great points on the Valve story. It is very pro-consumer. I just wonder who’s paying the bill?
Also, great points on TLOU2! I just assume anyone who still doesn’t like that game hasn’t played it yet.

Witcher 3 is one of my all time favorites but I agree with your friend, Matt L. The anatomy on practically every female characters is uh generous and there are a ton of gender tropes. The books the game is based on were written in the 1980's which probably has something to do with it. It's one of the few games that I've liked enough to acquire all achievements, so I've played it quite a bit and that aspect was always the one smudge the game had on it imo

I feel like the game is SO good that I was just overlooking that aspect of the game. It’s an unmissable experience!

I might agree if Geralt wasn't also viewed as a piece of meat throughout the game. I felt the sexism was equal opportunity!

Did I just say Forever Winter was a free to play game? WTF. My brain was OFF at the beginning of this episode.

Ha ha. I thought you said it was like $26 or something I didn’t watch cause I lived it but I’m pretty sure you mentioned how much you paid for it. You said it was early access. No?

It's okay. I compared the new Zelda game to Link's Awakening when I meant A Link to the Past

@@matthewjmauldingit kind of does look like Links Awakening remake though. The over world map especially! That’s what I thought you meant!
