At first, I used to think that this way of create distortion was bad, but recently after seeing a lot of videos talking about raspy voice, I think the guy in this video is putting his voice above, near to the nasal cavities, I tested this and it doesn't hurt me at all, obviously because I'm aware of using raspy voice, it's better to use it smartly and not all the time.
