We hate nickelback because they're uninspiring and they waste their talent for mediocre songs that haven't evolved for the last 20 years. Their first album showed ambition and then it became stale with each song. We don't need the internet to influence our criticism on what's actually inspiring, technically different and what's devoid of change or evolution.

I don't know why people hate on them so much. I'm about as metal as it gets, but I recognize talent across all genres and they are a very solid band. I can't say I seek out these guys to listen to, but I don't change the channel either. If nothing else, their songs are really catchy.

Hero from spiderman got me hooked as a kid. Silver side up and darkhorse got me threw middle and high school. At my dad's funeral I played Too bad, it summed up our relationship. I barely knew my father, could never bring myself to hate him lord knows he deserved it. My first concert was Nickelback, he took me when I was 6. One of the few good memories of him. The band will never see this but they've been a part of my life as long as I remember. They've done more for me emotionally than most of my family. Has always been and will always be my favorite band.
Please say that Sharon went drinking with these guys. They did say they wanted to have a beer with Sharon. I could see a friendship developing there.

I am crying rn. Nickelback is literally my favorite band. I was in the top 0.01% of listeners on Spotify 2 years ago and 0.05% of listeners last year. I sooooo excited they are releasing a new album, and tour?!?!?! I will spend however much it costs if they offer VIP. I don’t care if it’s a thousand dollars. I’ll go broke just to see and meet them. Nickelback always have a special place in my heart when I'm listening to their music
One of their concerts I went to someone threw a blowup doll on stage. Chad propped in on a speaker and after a couple of songs decided "This b*tch is creeping me out, let's light her up!" On proceeded to put it on a flame thrower built into the stage and had Pyro light it. Pretty funny, especially since it was my little sister's first concert and I got to take her.

My favorite interview of Chad Kroeger was a few years back where the interviewer brought up a quote from a different interview of the lead singer of Korn where he was saying something along the lines of: "we'd be popular AF if we did poppy songs too, but they're just too easy and not challenging enough" or something to that extent. So Chad being Chad was just like "If it's just that easy then just do it and stop complaining"

As a black teen in the 90s, trust and believe, none of my black friends were openly listening to Nickleback. This was "white boy" music, but I didn't care, I loved them, played them all the time. I never let anyone pigeon hole me into what I could or was "supposed to" listen to just because of my skin color. Just like food, you like what you like and if you're vibing with the music, then enjoy yourself plain and simple.
My favorite Nickelback song (besides Hero obviously) was a lesser known one. It came out around the same time as How you remind me. It's called "Too Bad"

I have done security for 30 years, and the only two bands I haven't worked at are Nickelback & Greenday that have come to my city. But I have been to every show you have done in our city. Not complaining it's much better being part of the audience, than being 15 feet from them, but you can't watch them, because the crowd's safety is more important. Keep making music, guys, and be happy as long as you can doing that.

I took my kid to a Nickelback, Bush, Seether and My Darkest Days in Portland Oregon over 10 years ago still Love their music
I don't think people really ever hated Nickelback. We all knew they were good and successful, it's just like the radio stations played their songs into the ground. I think people got so used to them that they just got to where they'd change the channel.... right about the "making your own music" had gone well past mix CDs and onto iPods. And it just.... kept being skippable. I think that's why everyone secretly loves them but is willing to joke about not liking them.

Saw them twice back in the day. So at their shows they'd do this thing called 'beer o'clock' where they would throw cups of beer into the audience. Getting pulled over after the show and trying to explain to a cop that you were not drinking, you were just at a Nickelback show is very not easy.

"How You Remind Me" brings SO MANY great memories. I was in 8th grade living in CT with my mom, little sister, and little brother. Every time I hear it, it's an instant trip down memory lane to a very special time in my life.
