Smough's Journey: Hamburger Quest
Excuse me sir, this is a Christian channel, we don't believe in burgers.
Dante actually saw Smough at the third circle but he's punished by eating his thicc ass
*Manburger
@VollBanane derjeniche not KFC but KFH Kentucky fried humans
3 mins in and I'm already thinking Mitch should be writing books
yeah just finished make a book like the guy did for bloodborne (red grave? I can't remember)
meme taco Agreed should do audio versions too give me something to listen to at work. Awesome work anyways.
I agree
If you make this an entire series, I'll be forever in your debt. I could listen to stories like this all day
same. absolutely.
This raises the bar by a mile for dark souls content creators. Seriously man, I can tell you put an enormous amount of work into this! Please do more of this! :D
Will do!
Have you seen Hawkshaw's video on the Chaos Flame and the Witch of Izalith? He makes a pretty convincing case for the Witch's corruption being voluntary, and gradual, rather than violent and instant, as you describe here. It's a good listen, and it might make you reconsider some of the lore from the first (and best) game.
P.S. Lovely video, mate. Nice change of pace from your regular fare; I'm looking forward to seeing what comes next.
Hawkshaw's great! I hope he makes more stuff soon. Thanks :)
Personally it gives a nice in depth look into the single characters. I say give it a try.
Adan Slusher I like stuff like that. the dialogue between the smough&Ornstein of ages past was incredibly intriguing.
Praise be to the once Queen of Anor Londo, Mistress Velka.
BANNED
**p e r m a b a n n e d**
Sounds like someone has a lack of faith in the mistress.
'''Tis best if thy keep control of thine disbelief, for preaching such open disagreement, the mistress might not looteth fondly on such actions.
10/10 want another one
Fucking fantastic!
you have such a capturing voice; it is no match to daddyvidiya's - i have to be honest - but ur voice hypnothises the spectator into remaining attentive to the story. Im happy to have such capable soulstubers without interfering too much in their individual terrains of doing. in short; love u and pls continue the tale, im dying to hear its continuation 🖤🖤🖤🖤😍
Lagrima wow, thank you so much!
Mitch L well ur welcome, we have to thank you for keeping the meek flame that is the Souls series alive for this long
That was fucking AMAZING
The vivid imagery and attention to lore was spot on
I would consider becoming a patreon if this keeps up :)
I'll keep pumping 'em out! There's a lot of potential here. Thanks!
This video is, in my humble opinion, a very welcome change from the usual "lore-hunting" or "lore-dumping" kinds of videos. Not that I dislike those kinds of videos (or else I wouldn't be subscribed to your channel). However, I felt like it was getting a bit stale. This format is refreshing. I may be biased, for I already do a similar thing (both in my head and on paper and not just with Dark Souls) and I find that this "appeals to my sensibilities", for lack of better words. Also, you have a very engaging and elegant way with words. Can't say I am surprised, because your other scripts are very good as well... But, like I said before, this was refreshing. Forget the lore-hunting, this type of personal, interpretative, story-driven videos is just what Dark Souls need and what fits the series' plots as a whole. I did enjoy this very much and I do hope you consider doing more videos in this format in the forseeable future. I'd appreciate it and, by the looks of the comment section, I would not be alone. Thanks, once again, for the great content. Cheers all the way from Portugal, Mitch!
EDIT: Also, could you consider discussing Salt and Sanctuary in the future?
Thank you Portugal! I really appreciate the feedback! I'll make sure to pick up Salt and Sanctuary soon, don't currently own it.
omg I love this! it's like crack I just played through the drug heap while listening. please do more!
I hope you make one for Bloodborne or Demon Souls Excellent work.
Thank god another Mitch video.
When Ornstein was asked to see the princess... I have read enough fanfics to know where this is going. *unzips*
Dissapoints... *zips back up*
Great vid!
I'd like to see one on Arty and Cirian. Give me your thoughts on this though. Arty and Cirian have no accolades for dragon slaying like Ornstien and Gough do. But you do hear about how many humans they've killed. Do you think they became Knights of Gwyn from their actions in the Occult Rebellion, not from the Age of Ancients? Also there's talk about how Cirian had to put in twice the work to get the ornate mask she wears.
I look forward to your more character focused videos. This was great!
if this were a book i would definetly buy It, looking forward to second part
That was fucking awesome. Keep doing videos like these. You should be writing books on Dark Souls characters. Can't wait for Artorias'
ahhh the cliffhanger at the end, really good video i'm gonna be waiting for the next part...
Quickest click of my life
That was amazing, youre so talented!
Please please please continue producing this content. No one else is doing this style of narrative. Even if it's wrong; you've painted a solid picture, and entertained.
as a suggestion, could you do one of these for rise of pontiff sulyvahn from the perspective of vordt, reminiscing on his service as he and the dancer journey to lothric damned to beasthood?
this was amazing, can't wait for the next post too continue the story
You _wrote_ all of this? Holy shit a thousand kudos to you m8.
Dude. This is fucking amazing. Great work!
Very well made, only about halfway in as I write this but I'm enjoying everything so far and I doubt that'll change before the end.
Sometimes I find it hard to understand why you don't get more attention then you do though, your videos are so much higher quality then mostly any other lore-based DS youtuber.
Edit; Finished it just about 10 minutes ago, and I would love for you to continue this, it's exactly what I've been looking for lately, something to listen to while drinking tea and laying back on the couch. Haven't had much luck getting into any books and such lately, but this was very enjoyable.
Thanks! Honestly I'm surprised I get any attention at all. I'll be sure to continue this in the future.
Great video!
I want more!
It would be awesome if you did this for other characters like Velstadt or Leroy or Artorias.
This is too good. You should consider writing books, mate.
I love this! The way you approached is unique. I'm tired of someone reading the same item descriptions. This gives a different perspective to the characters. I could listen to your tales all day. :D
Prepare for more!
You could make a book series or novel of this. Love to hear tales like these.
but this is not collaborated by the game itself... it's just ur own story based on characters we all know and love...
I was expecting something else
Trip Vic literally within seconds of the video starting, I state that it's just my interpretation.
Badass. Love hearing all the community's knowledge on Ornstein in a first person perspective.
This one was pretty exposition heavy. The next one will have more action, hopefully!
this was incredible masterful thank you for this wonderful work of art. very well layed out I closed my eyes and could vividly see everything described I would love to see more thanks for your time
That was the best Dark Souls story I have ever heard.
Great video. Thank you.
w8 that red wasn't a plume but his hair?
where did you find this info? Does Dark Souls have a book I don't know about
item descriptions and headcannon
man!!! this is awesome!!! you'll have a new follower if You make more videos like this
Absolutely the best lore
LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS!
This was way better than I had anticipated after 2 minutes. At the end, I was totally immersed in the story you told. The references were all accurate to the lore and everything flowed well. Well done, I'm impressed!
Wait...is this like fanfiction but...good?
Where am i? Still on planet earth?
Can't be...
dude.......this is fucking AMAZING. 🔥🍻. I really need part 2......like now. for me, I visualized every scene, in more detail than I thought I was capable of. please, carry on Mitch. keep em coming. 🔥🍻
That was awesome. I think you should do more of these story type vids. It's a great listen while doing other things.
I'm drawing a blank here guys could anyone help. I can't seem to figure out who Seren is. I'm not good with names. on another note this is what I've been looking for on dark souls for a very long time. since the story is all to your own perspective than I always been surprised that no one has literally wrote stories connecting the dots in dark souls. not like a documentary but literally just writing a short story/novel on one giving them a whole life and adventure. Like what this does with the little clues dark souls gives the writer to use.
MORE!!!!!!!
more please
I really liked this ! Well written and enjoyable, hope you keep making these style of videos. Do you plan to make his entire journey?
Good shit yo
For a moment i felt like traveling back into past times of Anor Londo and be witness of a legendary tale. I literally was able see and feel it when i listened to you telling this great story.
Would be nice to see more like this, maybe about Artorias and Sif
Dude. Your story is good and all, but Fillianore was not taken away to the Ringed City. She was gifted. The pact between Gwyn and the Pygmies was clearly not a forced contract. You're ridiculously over-exaggerating the reality. You're ignoring a *Glaring Fact.*
Here's what the Item description of the Ringed City Envoy Banner states.
*"The small banner used by envoys of Great Lord Gwyn in the days of yore.*
*Face the ringed cliff and hold the banner high to summon facilitators of transport.*
*For the pygmies, who took the dark soul, the Great Lord* "gifted" *the Ringed City, an isolated place at world's end, and his beloved youngest daughter, promising her that he would come for her when the day came."*
Sorry for my rudeness, but the way you interpreted the Pact was fucking ridiculous and ignorant of glaring facts of the lore. The description of the item states it *loud and clear.* Gwyn *gifted* the pygmies the Ringed City and his Daughter. There is literally *nothing* mentioning any forced contracts. You are looking at this wrong. And don't get me started on how you did the same thing with Gael, saying that he got under the influence of Power Hunger when he clearly was *Not.* It only happened after he consumed the Pygmies. Because he still remembered his goal, even after the corruption. And that's a fact. Because he retold his goal. Even if with twists and struggles of realizing it to its finest.
This was not what I was expecting when it popped up in my subscription box. It was pretty good, and that made it so much better.
Ruins of Farossa? What has that to do with Dark Souls 1 Universe / where should they lie?
well done mate; more tales!
Will do!
This is fucking amazing. I really appreciate the amount of liberties you're not taking with the thoughts and dialogue of the characters. Everything feels believable, or at least, it doesn't feel like you yourself are talking through the characters. Also, props to you for doing descriptive imagery right, and not just adding boring detail for the sake of detail.
This was amazing!!! Not was it well written, but it also presented great characterization. I love that your interpretation of Ornstein's character is the same I've always had. I always believed him to be an honorable, respected individual who was very close to Gwyn himself. I also like that this is very consistent with the lore.
I'm definitely waiting for the next part, and hope that you really make stories for other characters. Very entertaining way to present the lore and flesh out the story of Dark Souls
Absolutely awesome! Petition for FromSoft to publish your headcanons as semi-canon light novels?
that was cool but no mention of artorias
Maybe he'll make an appearance later ;)
It's really good, but I thought this was supposed to be an ornsteiejadjnd cosplay. good work fam!
Can't wait for more of this Mitch!
I liked this. I would include some visuals in the future though; item pictures, or maybe some illustrative game play.
I thought you were reading this from somewhere but the comments lead me to believe you did this yourself. Bravo either way, but if this was an original piece of work than the Dark Souls community is in your debt
Seriously... Strike a deal with Fromsoft and start a novel series!!!
A absolutely fine job! This is something that I don't usually find on RUclips but it's better than any short story I've read...
kinda wished they had a darksouls set during the good days. Before everything feel apart, just so I could see it all. Or maybe during the war with the dragons.
This is marvelous. I love how you put it in a story mode. It help me get a better feeling for the character. PLease make more . I would love all the lore but together like this. One question does anyone know why the name less king sided with the dragons?
You sir should be writing books, tons of em'. If Fromsoft ever publish a novel or something about Dark Souls, it better be like this.
This is ducking tremendous, please do more, a lot more👍❤️🤜✊️🤘
Great job man. I bet if you had someone help as an editor to tighten up focus or whatever else they can do then you could create some really amazing work. Keep it up.
This was amazing!
Massively excited for the next :)
I love your content, but your mix of correctly pronouncing words that most get wrong alongside constant mispronunciation of common words is hilarious
O.
do more of this if you enjoy it mate, it's brilliant to finally have someone simply recount stuff in a story format, without endless mentions of 'it's my opinion, tell me what you think' because that shit gets boring!
Can you write a book please? I’d be interested in purchasing it xD man i loved the vid, I need more!
That was amazing I was totally enraptured by it I need more damnit
Mispronounced almost every name, but aside from that it was pretty damn excellent and in thrilled to hear how it'll continiue
loved this and i would not mind if this became a more frequent thing uploading pov novellas from prominent characters in dark souls that is
2 minutes in and I was really interested I absolutely loved this...make more please :)
that was actually pretty good, i hope his encounter with Nameless King pays off
This was really good, while visually it isn't much your writing is marvelous, hope to see lots more of these.
Ornstein was a ginger? But he definitely had a soul, I got this cool spear from it.
keep it going mate, let's see a Velka or witch of izalith next if you can price together enough.
This was very enjoyable and I would love to see more!
( in retrospect to hear more)
Why should I wear headphones for this?
is actually very impressive to have so many comments on a video like this. Good quality video too.
that was amazing to listen to. Made driving in traffic tolerable.
Although I see some stuff that could be changed to make the text more refined, this was a fine tale, so much so that I am eager to listen to the other two parts.
I have watched and listened to all your souls videos and this is the best by far it's amazing
I want a souls game that takes us to the direct epicenter of the collapse of the age of fire. That would be great!
Awesome... but I'll need to listen to this once more, whit the google translator to guide me this time lol
4 minutes and I already love this, thank u Mitch!!
Listening to this while I kill Ornstein (and Smough)
I hope you continue this tale and write more in the future. 10/10
This was fucking amazing, I need more.
I knew there was a reason i subscribed. Your writing is inspirational to me as a writer.
this was fantastic! would love hear the rest of his arduous journey
