    The " grand treachery" thing probably refers to you killing her. The same way Yuria's Ashes refer to her death and how Cornyx's ashes refers to his.
    "Having three founders of the Black Church ensured Yuria’s legacy would survive. Her two sisters could carry the torch, making certain their lord claims the flame, for the sake of all Hollows."
    "Cornyx was tired and defeated until he discovered one final pupil, like so many pyromancers before him"
    Basically their ashes is being written in "real time".

    I think the shape of the Eygon helmet is the head of a Gargula, just like its hammer that looks like a roof with four girdles, as we know the gargoyles symbolize that the demon never sleeps and that he keeps constant vigilance of the people of that place, The same thing that Eygon does, keeps constant vigilance of the maiden.

    upon a closer look at the ring, helmet, and hammer, it looks like they all have the appearance of a bat either in or on them which makes sense because the the goddess and her chime.

    What you said made me think now, about Lautrec and Anastacia, I know she's from Astora, but what if Lautrec came and brought her to Lordran? And forced her to become a fire keeper? And cut off her tongue so she would not say anything or curse them? Listening to Eygon, he and Lautrec look like two sides of the same coin, both serve the two goddesses of Carim, both are knights, while Eygon honors his words and hates betrayal, Lautrec cares little for honor, much less for betrayal, and both are more or less "linked" to a fire keeper, but what made me think about it was Lautrec's last dialogue "That Keeper has served me well, but ... enough with her ... Keh heh heh heh ..."

    I think the line "I've long dealt in dark, it is my calling" has less to do with Carim and it's connections with dark sorcery, and more to do with being a firekeeper

  • @Xanatos712
    @Xanatos712 7 лет назад +4

    Irina's "grand treachery" may have something to do with the Firekeeper Eyes you find in the darkened Firelink shrine - they appear in the same location Irina usually sits in and giving them to the Firekeeper lets you perform the "grand betrayal" as Ludleth puts it. Perhaps in a previous cycle, Irina did indeed become a Firekeeper who could see into the age of dark?

      Hey is there anyway i can pledge some money to you to make an Ebook or online lore series of bloodborne and dark souls. I know you have already been doing that and its amazing but what i/we want is your added story within, i truly feel as though Bloodborne and Dark souls 3 are incomplete. Yes it's a way of making us imagine the blanks but its pure laziness especially with Bloodborne. Me and 4 other mates have money to throw away we live in Queensland, Australia. Plenty of money here. let me know please ill pay before the product is finished. Just want you to complete the story for me.

    • @SH19922x

      +steven h It just has to be extremely plausible to the story but you create the blanks and add some stuff.
      Edit your old videos and add stuff on top because your videos are crazy good. And ill buy the custom videos if possible. But either way it's all brilliant. Extra $1000 au for Master Wilhem and the old blood content. With your created input.

    Watching this video, I thought of something. I've never seen it mentioned before.
    Patches is from Carim.
    He's got the same pale skin and sharp features that mark men like Oswald and Lautrec, and he ruthlessly distrusts clerics, calling them greedy and corrupt. And the clerics we hear most about being corrupt, or doing questionable things concerning human sacrifice, are from Carim.

  • @MisotheScot
    @MisotheScot 7 лет назад +18

    could londor and carim be one in the same? Im asking because of three things.
    1.Oswalds occupation as velka, this would mean nothing, but I believe velka is a heavy influence in the sable church of londor, as both oswald and yuria sell the miracle vow of silence. And velka was against the gods, so itd make sense that londor would also worship her as they too are against the gods and their age of fire.
    2. the existence of the frostbite ring, the one we get from elfriede. this ring will have had to been made more recently, as frost was not something people used in either dark souls one or 2, meaning that elfriede will have had to have gotten this ring from its origins, meaning that wherever she came from, londor, had to be near carim in some way.
    3. and this is what got me thinking, is the last line of the usurp the fire ending, when yuria speaks "Make londor WHOLE again" its an odd detail and a very specific choice of words. This implies the whole of londor has been either split up or londor broke off from a bigger land, like perhaps carim? the velka refferences, the fact that both velka and caitha are both dipped into dark magic, and that oswald who favours velka and is refered to as "oswald of carim" implies that londor is a broke off point of carim.
    Im going to tell a story, this is merely speculation, but lets see if it makes sense to you.
    Dark souls one, the land of new londo as been turned dark by the abyss, its many residents either dead or gone , and dark wraiths roam. Dark stalker kaathe, the primordial serpent, must leave new londo and find somewhere new to begin. so kaathe takes the survivers of new londo, all attuned to their use of the dark hand and power of the abyss, to the distant land of carim. While in carim, kaathe remains in hiding, and the old residents of new londo now reside in carim. while hear, they learn of velka and her views against the gods. time passes with their worship of both velka and thay of kaathe grows stronger, until 3 sisters build.a new church during dark souls 2, the sable church of londor, and split some of carim into londor. the church a hybrid worship of the abyss and velka, and kaathe influencing them in the shadows. roll dark souls 3

      I like your well backed theory myself but the only thing I feel is off is that Oswald probably was not a follower of the sable church because in my thoughts, the sable church was newly erected after the time of the 1st and 2nd dark souls era (dark souls 1&2) however I could be wrong because Velkas daughters (I'm fairly certain the three sisters of the sable church are Velkas daughters) *COULD BE* seen as the shadowy silhouettes in the rare ring of sacrifice. The sable church is a prominent establishment and somewhat powerful religion, I just feel like it would have been mentioned during Oswald's time if it existed back then.

    • @MisotheScot
      @MisotheScot 4 года назад

      @@torrablackwell5701 I know, I did say the sable Church was founded around the time of dark souls 2 to dark souls 3. Oswald is very much a priest of velka rather than the sable Church.

    The one thing that has always bugged me with DS2 lore is that everything that happened during DS or even before that is forgotten and then curiously remembered in later cycles. The bite rings for example, in DS2 nobody knows they were crafted by sir Arstor but in DS3 which happens to be a later cycle the item description is there for all to see.

    There's something interesting about Irina, I figured in watching your video. It seems like she is tied with Caitha. Firstly because the relation between a maiden and her knight is supposed to reflect the relation between Morne and Caitha. But the most important thing, Caitha is believed to be either a goddess or a demoness, and is thus very ambivalent, much like Irina can lean toward Light or Dark.
    I'm really not sure Caitha clergy is opposed of the linking of the fire, there's nothing to corroborate it. In fact, the Dark aspect of Caitha seems to be hidden by Morne (as her chime is a secret kept amongst clerics). But even though, it's not because she have an affinity toward the Dark, she embrace it and want the end of the fire (considering she ever exists, of course).
    Also, there's someone I totally overlooked, it's the Archbishop of Carim. I first thought he was Morne but Morne is an Apostle so I wonder who he could be as he is never named. Could he be Lloyd? I don't think so, he's probably a new character in the story.

    I think it likely that there's a connection between the feared "malleable stone" of the bite rings and the stony material of Morne's armor. The knights of carim are heavily tied to the church, and clerics dabble freely in the use of malleable stone. Food for thought.

So, to kickstart this new adventure full of ridiculous deaths, a friend and I created our characters in advance and started to toy a bit with their backstories. Y'know, to get an idea of who our characters used to be before and do some fun roleplay between us as we chat or play together. I would love to knowif there is any connection because orginally it was a miracle of Shulva.
    I really miss the way you presented your video from the Mound-Makers one but I can understand how long it takes to dish out such amazing finds. keep up the wondrous work! (P.S. eagerly waiting on the Old Hunters take you will do... i only need the patience!)

I know next to nothing about it but imagine a Kingdom drowned by Caitha's tears. That would be cool.
      In what way do you feel that the Mound Maker's video is different to this one? Was it because this one was more revolving around text while the Mount Makers was based around action? Thanks for your feedback! (More Bloodborne stuff in the future)

    So about the bite rings and the purging stones, I think its safe to say Arstor made the purging stones, but where it talks about him commissioning someone to make the rings I think it's just talking about the metal bit. After all, if you find a rock you REALLY like you can commission someone to set it into a ring for you, and I think he made the stones to be set into the rings. This wasn't theories or anything just an observation about the "commission" bit.

    the bit about linking the fire being something the carim religion would be against seems wrong to me. If we consider the description of caitha's charm it sounds as though the hex and dark aspects of the religion were only known about by the tippest of the top auhtorities, and kept a secret from the masses. It's a bit similiar to how the way of white was telling humans that linking the fire would cure the darksign while simultaneously 'prudicing' the undead themselves.

    what if Lautrec's maiden was the firelink guardian and DaS3 was trying to retcon Lautrec's plot in DaS?

    • @TwistedMecha
      @TwistedMecha 7 лет назад

      This is what I was beginning to think.
      What if Lautrec had a similar roll of looking after Anastacia, but instead of supporting her decision, Lautrec tried to kill her. Maybe that was why he was imprisoned and his returning to Firelink was finishing what he had started.

    I know I'm about 2 years out of fashion for commenting on this video, but I am really enjoying your videos!
    Probably past time for caring much about this thought, but you (and many others) seem to take it as anything connected to the Dark must against the Age of Fire and therefore the Way of White. And when you operate under this assumption there are a lot of seeming contradictions in lore. Lots of confusing motives.
    But, there is a lot of evidence to suggest there are Dark-attributed actors who are consistently working to prolong the Age of Fire and forestall the Age of Dark.
    The best example of such an actor I can think of is Alsanna the Silent Oracle from the final DS2 DLC. She is a daughter, a fragment of Manus, yet inspired by her king she uses her power to contain the Old Chaos within Eleum Loyce. She is fully committed to her king's ideals.
    Granted their deal is about containing whatever the Old Chaos is; not necessarily prolonging the Age of Fire. But, I think there are a lot of parallels. The Old Chaos is some spreading destructive force similar to the Abyss. The king used his mighty soul to build Eleum Loyce and then sacrificed himself to save the world from the Old Chaos, just as Gwyn sacrificed himself to prolong the Age of Fire to keep the Age of Dark at bay.
    Personally, I think the Way of White was founded by such a Dark-attributed actor who was committed to Gwyn's vision of preserving the Age of Fire.
    But, the main point is just because someone is Dark doesn't necessitate they're anti-Fire. Overcoming your nature for the greater good type shit.

    Playing through DS1 again and the tear stone rings claim to be from Catarina. So are Catarina and Carim are the same place? And why is the city still going by both names since both Seigmeyer and Morne both still exist in the same realm? How freaking old is Seigmeyer?

    • @TarvynSero
      @TarvynSero 7 лет назад

      hm, i think only the Blue Tearstone Ring claims to be from Catarina.
      I don't think Catarina and Carim are the same. Check the character creation, there are different character/face examples for both locations. :)

    an alternate definition of anathama can mean "a curse from the pope", it's literal definition is something people generally dislike.
    The meaning of archdeacon is that of a high priest in modern Christian terminology.
    the definition of Pontiff is literally Pope.
    Sulyvahn's at it again boys.

    Poor understanding of European titles. Earl = Count (Earl would have been used in say, the UK, equivalent to a Count on the continent). Sir does not imply knighthood, it could be the honorary prefix of the Earl. Earl was not replace by duke, duke is simply a higher ranking title - although earl is pretty high up there. So this guy was probably a powerful figure in Carim with a significant domain.

    What if...Carim and Catarina are the same region but in different timelines/dimensions hence sharing the same goddess but whose purpose has changed from mourning for those close to death to mourn for those who have lost loved ones?
    That could explain the reason for the same looking ring, but in different color and effect.
