I have one of these and I had Grindshoes back in the 1990s and I must say that the Epic's are real shoes. Yo can walk in them exactly as in normal sneakers, you don't feel a difference, whereas the "old" grindshoes always had a kinda stiff sole and were not very comforable. I think you guys made some great decisions when designing these. Only have grinded mine on a p-rail so far and as you expect absolutely 0 % damage to the grindplate so far.
Really great styles with vibrant color schemes and easily the lightest pair of grind shoes I've ever worn. Way lighter than anything Soap or Heelys ever released.
@@Waddlejpg he means the soap shoes that had two plates - ones that crossed the shoe from the toe to the heel - they were cool af. I hope epic brings these back too, would love to see how they would redesign it etc - plus then people can get much more creative with it
Love what you've done, and will be heading to the website to purchase a pair asap. Ever since '04 when I found out Sonic's soap shoes were real, and that I too could grind down banisters, I knew I had to get a pair of these. Now finally the dream can come true! Any chance of more colours in the future? Red, white and yellow maybe? 😉
I just bought these for my daughter. I'm super excited. I'm reminiscing about the old days with Soaps, half lit off Jameson, and ready to start taring down the aluminum swing set and making grind rails. She's only seen the videos and is only half as excited. But that's only because she isn't old enough to drink Jameson yet. I can't wait to teach her and guide her into a Grindshoe Guru. When she becomes great and the trend takes off in Volusia County FL, you owe me some Jameson. Gott segne!!!
OMG I'm so stocked right now! I've been looking at Soap shoes on ebay for the last couple years and the prices ppl are charging for a used pair of wornout Soaps is absolutely ridiculous. But you guys have answered my prayers! I'm ordering a pair right now. Thank you so much for making these shoes!
Yes, very good. I've worn these shoes almost everyday since I got them over a year ago and they look practically brand new, haven't worn out at all and still my favorite pair of shoes
Thank you for making these. Changed my life. No joke. I get out everyday and practice. Even got some balance balls and made some rails to train. Thank you and i hope your company keeps bringing new styles. I just ordered my 3rd pair and plan to get as many as i can
Spending 3 months in New York back in 1999 I ran all over town trying to find some Soap Shoes in my size, US 12, but no luck - since then it's only been a "what if" ... UNTIL NOW! And, as luck would have it, I currently buy quad skate gear for my shop from Powerslide in Europe, so these are definitely going on the list for my next stock update purchase :D Well done and congrats on a successful launch :)
@@EpicGrindshoes Placing an order with Thorsten tomorrow :) Swinging between the 45 and 46, from the mm measurements and 6-7mm increments in sizing it looks like these have been sized by EU sizing as a primary yes? while the US sizing is approximations since only some of those are half-sizes? How is the toe box height on the Stompers, are they closer to classic Vans, or taller, like the more beafy DC Skate Shoes - usually I have US 11.5, so the 45's might be too tight if the toe box is too low since they are only 3mm longer than my foot length, 286mm.
Absolutely cannot wait. I bought two pairs. The black hi top and the light blue regular one. Definitely looking forward to backsliding on anything I walk past again. Benches and ledges oh my.
If you guys can find a way to replace the grind plate in the middle like soap shoes back in the day these would be fire...only reason I never brought a pair was because of that
Thank you for such an excellent product. I am thinking about getting another pair to make three pairs of sneakers I own in the future! :) P.S: Will there be more colors/styles (e.g having the Epic Raven as a hightop like the Stomper)?
I know it's been a minute since this video but I'm a surfer w/ flat wide feet. How is the toe box? I'm thinking of going 1/2 size up for room in toe box, thought? Thanks.
I was excited to find out about you guy's & this excellent product. Looking forward to getting a pair, was curious about the patent. Did you guy's acquire that from heelys parent company?
One big question from me. do you see yourself partnering with heely’s at anytime in the future? Or just doing a collaboration with them to make a unique shoe.
For anyone that is a 44 EU / 285cm/mm / 10.5 you will fit the shoe in the sizing that they list. I really went all in and bought em knowing that that size says 282mm/cm and I am clearly a 285mm/cm so that is not all true to size.

im so glad the soap patents expired, now anyone can make their own iteration on the idea. i cant wait to see what comes in the future
