You hit the nail on the head.... I wore soaps(and later Salomon grind shoes) everywhere as my daily driver shoes. They afford you the ability to mess around and grind stuff you never would be allowed to. For instance if you’re at Walt Disney World there’s no way you’re not gonna get basically arrested for skating in the park but if you pimp in there with your grind shoes you’ll be able to do all kinds of stuff without really attracting much attention. It’s the difference between getting a stern warning not to do “that“ again versus getting ejected from the place you are for having in-line skates on.

Just like the soaps way back when they are cool when you are just out and about and see something you want to grind and obviously don't have your skates. Otherwise you might as well just simply skate. Also the main problem with grind shoes has always been the fact that you cannot roll away or roll up for that matter which sucks bad.
Depending on what you are grinding you can have a smooth walk away. If you hit something bigger tho that impact kinda has to settle. I just stick the landing and walk away

"soul bite" 😂👍👍. Such a great video Ben, really really enjoyed it. It through me of at first because the sounds I typically relate to grinding at a skate park were absent. That being said, it was really satisfying, they have a completely different sound while sliding and the pitter patter of the souls was actually really pleasant, especially with just the birds as background noise. Really creative with the tricks, really fun to watch, and...I DID NOT KNOW YOU COULD STILL BACKFLIP! love you great job Ben!
