I am the woman that you were trying to help. When I saw the man, I thought that he was your friend as he was just standing there for a while. The strange thing to me is that there weren’t people too close to your site so he had to come some distance to complain. Most people would not bother as it is expected to hear pups in the RV community. It’s like asking the wind not to blow… In my opinion, you weren’t rude. You were quite calm actually. In regards to my rig’s issue, it was the solenoid that wasn’t properly connected. Thank you for trying to help!
Thank you for commenting:) I felt like I had been kind of jerkish and wrestled with it for a while - I know I was frustrated that I couldn't figure out your issue and I'm glad you got it sorted. Thank you again for your words :)
dogs do dog things cats do cat things people unless its a karen. do people things. so be ware that you can't ask a dog to be a people and cant ask a cat to be a dog. its life deal with it. my uncle hated the smell of pigs. my other uncle had pigs. so he bitched at the other uncle that had the pigs. that uncle said if you want to smell roses go to the city this aint the city. so with that in mind if you don't want to listen to a dog bark go where this is no dogs.
You handled this guy perfectly! You did not over react! He was critical of you and Lefty. He actually was attempting dominance over you! I afraid I would not have been as polite as you! Mark Twain said “the more I know about people, the more I like my dog!” Your situation is a prime example!!!
Hi David, In short, it rarely happens that Lefty goes on singing for 8 minutes so, let it go. A wise ass would have said He used to mee yow, and I just taught him to Bark. Good Boy!
I appreciate your honest account of what happened. Many people would not acknowledge any responsibility for the situation and place blame entirely on the other party. This shows you are a fair person who is strong enough to share this with all of us.
@@TheCampulanceManI think you're too accomodating to people who have too short a fuse and think they can bully (no pun intended) someone just because they start off nasty. Lefty is being a *DOG.* Dogs sometimes *BARK.* It went on for a few *MINUTES,* not through the night! Just because they're camping doesn't mean they own the rights to the airspace. Had they been the tiniest bit tolerant, they'd have realized that Lefty was just exercizing his vocal cords for a few, measly minutes. Those people acted as if their golden meditation was interrupted, or their sleep was disturbed. Geez! It was even *DURING DAYLIGHT HOURS!* You were too nice. Being from The Island, I would have let 'em have more than they bargained for. Being nice to assholes has diminishing returns!
We had someone poison our dog at our home quite a few years ago. Had been to a wedding/dance. Came home let dog out.Within a few minutes dog went into convelsions and died. Horrible death. And terrible someone would do that. Thank you for the video. Blessings to you.
I know this was several months ago but it's okay to get angry. Be kind to yourself. At least you know how you would react most of the time. Love your content and Lefty, much respect to you David
I have a van and would love to travel and live in it. With that being said..you sir live my dream except for the camping among humans. LOL. I always enjoy your stories keep livin my dream.
Buy a humane muzzle for use when you're in those situations with your dog. Dogs can be easily taught not to bark due to separation anxiety. I've successfully trained dozens of dogs to not bark without suppressing their ability to protect.
Wish you could help me my husband let's our dog do anything not good I can tell when he around me I give him structure it's better for the dog but have a hard time stopping him from barking outside I think that's totally rude I stop it ASAP
*"...lost A LOT OF dogs?!"* Jesus! What kind of neighbors did your grandparents have??? If they were *MY* neighbors, the kind they *WOULD HAVE* been is called, *"MYSTERIOUSLY MISSING!!"* 😤
You are a genuine man of integrity and character. You are also human and allowed to not be at what you consider your best. I know for me there are days after my shift at the hospital when I go home to my mother-in-law (I'm her elder caregiver) that I am not at my best either and have to reign it in - and sometimes apologize. Sometimes we are short wen frustrated and/or tired and stressed. Give yourself some grace and keep bein your awesome self, Dave! :D Hugs to Lefty
All Lefty was saying was, “Daddy I want to come and be with you…..please!” Because he adores you so much! And by barking and making his cute grumbling sounds is the only way he can communicate his needs to you. Hopefully, this situation does not happen to you very often!! Lefty the Lover Pup! Keep on being who you are!! 🤗👍
I can sympathize with the dog problem. I had one that barked at everything, and finally cure her by getting up every time she barked and when nothing was a threat, I would kind a snort and totally ignore her -no eye contact or touch for awhile or till she laid back down. What a difference. Also after I turned 65 it became clear I needed protection and bought some POM pepper spray which you can carry quite discretely. Like the channel you have, and did not follow to many till I sold a vw bus to "Kombi life". Now finding out so much , thanks
You handled that much better than I would. We just found out that Dually has a cancerous mass in his mouth so I am super protective of him. We are waiting to hear how much his surgery will be. I know the difficulty of trying to rise above.
It happens, better to keep calm and collected gives you control of the situation, lose control and get mad will just give the other parties control over you. Your videos are nice to watch. Wishing you and lefty all the best.
Hi. I've been on both sides of barking issues. Not easy. You are very good with Lefty. He has separation issues. You had work to do. Others may issues, too, incl ones you don't know about. Tricky situations. I had a dog that barked when meighbor "D's" son came home at midnight and when others came by. "D" sprayed my dog with a hose and tried feeding him peanut butter. I learned "D's" wife had MS, headaches, etc, so D slept in his son's room, right by our dog run. "Puppy" had health issues, too. He was finally dx correctly - A liver shunt that caused him vision, balance and urinary issues. He'd bark at what he could not see. We moved away Dx was made. Puppy was sadly permanently relieved of his difficulties. Had a home. New neighbors across the street. I suffered pain & poor sleep from accident injuries. Their dog barked all night outdoors. Exhausted, one night I yealed out "Please!" The neighbor started bringing her dog in at night. Problem solved. We're still good friends. Now, we own a home w/land. Good neighbors bought, cleared and built their homestead across from us. One of their 3 dogs is a barker. He used to keep us (especially my beloved) awake at night as he roamed the woods and our yard. One of the 3 disappeared, so the barker is more timid and quiet at night, but he still barks at any noise we make at our house during the day while they are away. He knows us. In presence of our neighbors he'll come up to us wagging and begging to be petted. Without them, he barks. It's tiring to be barked at for daily living. We do our best to live respectfully with others. It helps to stay aware how we (and our issues) may impact others, and that others may have life issues, too. May you and Lefty enjoy many years of peace and happiness together, and with your travel neighbors.
Congrats to Mario Gonzalez for winning. I was going to enter. Byt I've already got a similar booster pack and a Jumper box also, so I didn't want to take away the chance for other people to win one.
You're actually very patient! Everyone can't be satisfied all the time, but the worst ones are those who try to get in other peoples business and expect the world to revolve around their fingers. Its much easier for them to simply find a quieter place than to argue and expect that you or anyone else will bend to their will. Arguing, even if actually proving a point, can be the most counter-productive thing ever. I personally find that people will not do as I wish unless there's a great enough incentive.
One of the best things you can teach your dog is silence. To bark when strangers are at your door, not bark all day at nothing. That is the worst thing for everyone, and it is very aggravating. Not to be ignorant but all day barking is a nuisance. Also, after your dog does his biz, pick it up. Nothing like ruining the view of others by seeing that. That comment is not for you, but there are a lot of ignorant people that just leave it and walk away.
Pappy Boyington on Black Sheep called his dog Meatball. I haven't seen the one where it's "Scraps"... or whatever.. I like your little guy- he's a character!! :)
Pets & children are a touchy situation for alot of people...this may not have been your shining hour with your responses to the other campers, but....the fact that you redeemed yourself with questioning yourself speaks volume... in today's world, people just dont seem to care about the rights of others.....just because we accept something as okay or normal in our lives, doesnt mean others have to....that being said, you seem to understand the difference, and that is what counts....learning and reacting to situations in a way that is a win win for both people.....its great you stayed calm, and didnt act like a jerk, by heating up the situation, but instead took a step back after the fact, and realized that others may have a point too....good job.....stay well and stay blessed...
I love dogs. I've had dogs. What you have is a dog that needs specific training on barking. And probably pack dominance as well. Ues, you might save his life. Been there, done that. Had a very large dog that liked to chase TRUCKS. It took less than ten minutes to painlessly stop that for good. Making both of us much happier.
WOW!!!! It's not like your dog has been barking all over the place and making a nuisance out of himself why people have to be miserable is sad very very sad, I'm glad that you were able to get through it and bless you & Lefty with protection against evil, Amen...
I must comment, I left my home approximately 10 days ago to go to Quartzsite Arizona to have solar installed in my van. I’m only doing to be gone approximately 12 days I can’t go full-time till the summer. After a 2000 mile trip down there across miles and miles of horrible roads humming engines of surmise coming through Rest areas, and even waking up to a dream of being surrounded by armed police officers and I looked outside and sure enough armed police officers all around the rest area. Yes I got away as quickly as I could. Long story sure I finally arrive to Dawn rock. With high expectations of quiet peaceful night sleep and a peaceful afternoon sitting outside in the sun letting the breeze go through my hair. But nope, I woke up to someone approximately a Half a mile parked away from me playing their music so loud that it drove me nuts I move somewhere else and how to deal with a dog barking. Two Things Dr. me nuts faster than anything someone’s loud noise and someone’s dog barking. Especially when I’m in search of peace and quiet.
Hi there , I want to let you know I love your dog and I love you as a person you're such a kind honest man but I will be totally frank with you about barking dogs. Owners get used to hearing their dogs bark and they subconsciously block it out but others around you hear that constant bark even if it was for 10 minutes straight it's not right for us to hear that. Also remember when you were interviewing another guy with a ambulance and you were a ways off that dog barked the whole interview like 20 or 30 minutes and I remember thinking to myself that dog has to learn not to bark I understand dogs bark here and there trust me I understand but it's like I work in a restaurant and when his mother and father comes in when their kids and the kids are crying and screaming and being disrespectful all they do is smile say isn't he cute. And everybody else around them are looking at them like if your child crying constantly take them out of the restaurant or go to the restroom and calm your child down before you return. I mean customers are going out to relax and enjoy their meal and when we hear the constant screaming and yelling at kids around us it's very disrespectful. And basically the same with dogs there's a time to bark for just a couple of minutes but as you know your dog barks constantly when you're not around because you're loving dogs wants to see you. I'm kindly thinking of maybe you should get a simple book on the basic commands to teach your dog. I'm sure it won't take long because your dog is very smart and to teach him only one thing like when you say no bark left he stops barking. It's just being consistent that's all just like with children you got to be consistent. But in the end you won't have any more barking issues. Anyway I don't mean to hurt your feelings I'm just being perfectly honest because I know dogs will be dogs and children will be children but there has to be respect of others around you that's all I'm saying. Sorry for this long message.
I agree. Its selfish not to control your dog properly. I have camped with dogs for years but I keep them under control and that means noise levels too.
If he could tell the dog quite and the dog would stop barking, don’t you think he’ll use the skill. Barking is such a big deal even when we’re with the dog correcting him. People say they are not going to put up with this. Training takes time they’re not born this way. Being put in a situation where they bark and teaching them to stop is very changing. So when progress is made say 50% it’s not good enough. Even if it is someone else will complain. So until we have this 100% under control we’re going to have trouble. Remember this when you are with the dog making the corrections people have low tolerance. It’s even worse when the dog is unsupervised.
Noise ordinances, in the city, are up until about 10pm. It seems he was out in the daytime, in nature. So, there wouldn't be a noise ordinance at that time. (I'm sure campsites have noise ordinances that start at 9 or 10pm as well). A crying child is quite different than a barking dog.
Ya you are right you can't trust no one, besides your dog was doing something normal and if they have a problem they can leave. Your dog is beautiful. Older people get a little crazy when they get older and yes you can't trust them either.
I've been dreaming of being a part time RVer, but now I am having second thoughts about taking a dog with me. Thanks for sharing your videos, I've been learning a lot from you. Enjoy life!!
There are cruel people out there, some have a hate for your breed of dog they are the kindest, loving dog there is they stereo type them. You have done an excellent job at training your dog he is so well behaved, respectful. I don't think you would have any problem training him. I would try if I were you. The reason I say this is because it like you said you fear someone who is angry may slip him something that could harm him. The saying is it takes all kinds to make a world, that's so true. I love walking so I enjoyed the walk. Thanks for sharing.
Watching this old video. It’s funny. I grew up next to Ferd the ever barking dog. He’d bark all day, everyday. My room overlooked his yard. After a while I stopped hearing the barks. It’s the same now. It fades into background noise. My neighbor once apologized for their barking dog. I had never noticed. To the plus it keeps me in good with the neighbors 😄 Bark on Lefty.
Guess we all have our days when we let it all hang out. Life goes on and people are gonna have issues w/others. I wouldn't let it bother you. You were just trying to do a good deed and things went awry. Better days ahead. Lefty is a good boy and can't help that he misses you when you leave him.
Don’t beat yourself up. I do the same thing when I have words with others. Think about and worry over it for days. Just try to remember, None of us are perfect and life happens. You seem to be a kind person. If Lefty were a constant barker, it would be different but that isn’t the situation. 👍
You might want to order a pair of "Lock Laces" for your sneakers. They are just elastic enough to allow you to pull sneakers on and off without ever lacing them again. And they keep as tight a fit as you want. I've wearing them three years, even on hiking boots. One of life's truly ingenius little pleasures. They got the tensioning and all perfect.
You 2 take care and enjoy the outdoors and the freedom & the sunshine & the wind & the rain haha. You're doing exactly what you want to be doing and what I want to be doing but I'm watching your videos so that I can learn as a female I can't go out there half witted I have to know what I'm doing to be safe. Then I will be in trouble too because my cocker spaniels very vocal when people come around me LOL
I don’t trust people who dislike dogs, or animals in general. Nothing gets me more upset than that. My neighbor across the cul-de-sac is a hateful woman and has injured and killed animals. No one in the area even acknowledges or speaks to her. Lefty is a good boy. Don’t fret. Just keep an eye out and an ear, too. Best of luck. Love your walks and talks! ~Nana in Tennessee
One of the things I like about you is that you are thoughtful and considerate. Just the fact that you are looking at your own behavior here speaks well of you. Good for you for realizing you could have reacted differently. I think you did ok with the guy, but not a good idea with the woman, or anyone in the future, to try to blame your dogs barking on others by waving them off in a different direction. I really do not like to hear barking dogs either, and have trained my own to not bark more than once or twice, just to alert me to someone coming. If he went on for even one minute I would be there to find out what is wrong and take care of it. I have had people ask to camp with me that I have said no to just because they have dogs that bark often. It really drives me nuts and puts me on edge. Hoping you can look at the other points of view and maybe train Lefty or keep him close enough that with a body language command from you he will stop. People who yell at their dogs for barking are as bad as the dogs barking. Basically they are barking too. My best to you and Lefty.
Me too. My dogs bark I'm on them in the first round of barks going sh sh shhh.. Hey. Hey. Sh. Sh! Stop. Stop. My anxiety about annoying others won't allow me to tune them out.
Excellent content, this is one of the reasons why I have a 4×4 rig where I can be a little further out and yet be someone close.. more space not to be bothered.
Id definitely keep him inside if you leave. Because you never know. People can be cruel. Love your campsite, looks relaxing, an you dog is just super funny.
If he is barking every morning or routinely, I would be pretty annoyed. But if not chronic, you have to go with the flow. My dog has one of those big artificial shin bone chews. When I need him to be “preoccupied “, I fill it with peanut butter and there is always the spot in the middle that he can barely reach with his tongue. This keeps him busy for a fair amount of time. 😀 and 8 minutes of barking can seem like an eternity.
Hi! I always enjoy your videos. Here's a suggestion to avoid SPAMS! When announcing the winner remind them that there's will not be a charge for shipping and handling. God bless!
Two Part Comment. Part 1 - great videos, i am using your experiences to plan my own trip, I enjoy watching! Part 2 - The dog is your dog, and your responsibility. Other people myself included would not want to listen to barking all the time. Be polite, and train your dog. The incessant barking can drive some of us nuts LOL Anyways good work and thanks
I just had to tell you I made your Progreso/hamburger soup and I was surprised at how good it is. Now I just have to find Coach Meat sauce, I did find it on the NYDeli site you mentioned, and try that hot mess garbage plate. It just looks so inviting. All my years visiting my relatives on Long Island, I never encountered this dish. Thanks. Keep the Fleet Feasts coming😀
Hi David , you have such good heart, I see myself in you....,You know I think it must be human nature, humans being territorial, sort of like, this is my patch !!!!, and really ten mins of barking...please!!!! that is nothing, if would be different say if it was say at night going on for a few hours, but really !!! You seem like a really good dad to lefty, and here you are helping someone, we need more of that in this world so be kind to you, do take care and hugs to lefty.......
i wouldn't worry about the old guy, or about lefty's barking its not like lefty barks non stop or anything. What matters is you tried to help someone who needed a hand and I'm sure she appreciated it!
Even wben you try to stay away from people they will come into your space to cause trouble! So many rude , entitled, complainers everywhere! You were much nicer than I would have been!
When I first moved into my house, my neighbor had a hunting dog that she kept tied up all day (right next to my hedges) and it would howl/yelp ALL day. The poor dog was out there from morning till late night. I felt bad for the dog. Finally someone else in the neighborhood called it in. Unfortunately, several months later the dog accidentally hung itself on the nearby swing set. She did some other nasty things too but that poor dog was the worst.
Barking dogs are so annoying and so many owners totally ignore them. We have a dog and love dogs but when owners are irresponsible and are not considerate of others, unfortunately, the animal becomes the target. It's not the animal's fault. It falls on the owner's laziness. You couldn't take moment to correct your animal? It falls on you. Your dog was disrupting the area. Acknowledge it and attend to it.
Hey, it happens. My Siberian huskies, may they R.I.P., were amazing dogs. One was stolen (he was gorgeous!) and the other lived to age fourteen. Most of the time they were quiet unless someone came onto the property. However, if I walked away from the house and down the street... they would bark. It seemed to have something to do with their being able to see me as I walked away. If I got in the car and drove off... they were fine. Seems Lefty's trigger is very similar. If he can't see you, he barks. Yeah, the neighbors may have been justified in being a bit irritated with Lefty... but it does seem like they overreacted a bit. Glad it worked out in the end.
I am having a rough day. I purchased an ambulance on an auction. The sellers were kind and honest when I picked up the rig(they were a volunteer fire department in Ohio). I am now stuck in Arkansas after my rig broke down and had to get towed. I know that my direction is going in the right direction, with ambulance conversion living. It is just a bit deflating when I (we) hit a rough patch. Sorry, just needed to vent. I enjoy your videos and when this rough spot passes. I will be starting the upgrade soon. 2003 Ford E-450.
@@TheCampulanceMan they are still figuring it out. Have you had any issues with the engine starting, running for several seconds and then sounding like it is starving for fuel and shutting off. I changed the fuel filter and still the same issue. I gave up after that. Waiting to hear the financial damage. The rig is in great shape, with only 62000 miles.
@@TheCampulanceMan the gas pedal also goes all the way to the floor when pushed and there is no throttle response as well. The gas pedal still springs back just no throttle response. I am stumped. I have never seen this in any gasoline engine I have worked on. The engine sounds strong and wants to run, but sounds like it is starving. The shop is running for codes and diagnostic checks. The tow truck driver said that the gas pedal/throttle response was a on board computer defense mechanism, to prevent damage to the engine when it detects an issue. Not sure if that is true.
@@lemaitrethemonk The diesel needs 2 things to run - Fuel and Air. Have you pulled the air filters and fuel filter to check them? If it was running well, and then suddenly it wasn't, that should be solvable. There should be some engine codes if its running that poorly that should give them some direction. Does it have fresh fuel? Is it a FORD diesel? If it's a 7.3 it could also need fresh oil change to improve the injector performance. Let me know how it's going and I hope it gets sorted quickly...
You were also just being a protective dad to Lefty. But I do understand about making people mad. I had a dog poisoned by neighbors. It still worries me but since then I'm always outside when my dog is out.
I've had the pleasure of living next door to noisy dogs for fifteen years. It gets old fast. I can't blame anyone for not having a moment of tolerance for it.
Yeah, if your dog starts barking, barking, barking, barking!! You should do the right thing and STOP WHAT YOU ARE DOING ...and attend to your dog. It's not everybody else's responsibility to just grin and bear it because you think it's no big deal.
Me NEITHER== but he could have asked NICELY-- "is someting wrong with the dog? Maybe he nees... " or whateer and offered KINDNESS not been pitching a hissy fit.-- people that pitch hissy fits on me- DON"T pitch one ever again.. at least not around me.
@@davidwayne9982 Maybe the person freaking out has reached the limit of tolerance for all the rude people out there who let their dogs bark constantly .... there is simply no reason to expect people camping out for a little peace and quite to put up with the ever increasing number of rude and completely careless people that keep getting their fur babies and never teaching them to not bark ... this guy here just admitted he's a horrible dog owner who is comfortable with the idea that as soon as he moves a few feet away from his dog it goes ballistic and starts barking ...nobody wants to hear that garbage and there is zero valid excuses for letting your dog do that.

Get it? no one wants to have someones dogs bark when you're in a situation were you are close to others ...then this inconsiderate piece of garbage proved he was in the wrong by calling a woman who just wants him to act like a big boy and keep his dog quiet a "KAREN" ...everyone including him knows that the internet Term KAREN connotes a person acting crazy for no good reason ..,. so how do you explain that ? This guy refuses to see other peoples rights and feelings and decided to discount that woman's righteous anger about him being inconsiderate to her and others by calling her a KAREN . ...so he sunk his whole argument by pulling that infantile garbage ...
My dog pit, boxer mix. Great dog. Getting older 6 and he has separation anxiety. Same thing. However I think he needs an award for loudest bark ever. Do you ever get police called while shopping?? People can literally hear my rig running. Air or heater on. They say they thought he needed something or thought he was q out food or water. Crazy. But I have tried every thing. And he may sit quite for a bit. But every time he gives in. Best wishes
Our dogs are better than most people we meet.. My Girl Freya gives a big bark out to lefty.. Blessings to you and yours coming at you from the mountains of Southern Oregon
David, I have a lot of respect for you. You are one of the few people/channels I subscribe to, mostly because it's obvious you are a good person at the core, with a good heart. To me that's everything! I also appreciate all the people that are supporting you with Lefty barking, but have to, at least in part, disagree with them. Regardless of whether they have two or four legs, we are all kind of biased when it comes to our kids. A bark here and there, or briefly barking doing their job being a watchdog is what dogs do, and that's ok. But disrupting other people's peace, or nap, or whatever, with nonstop barking for even 8 minutes really isn't being respectful to others. Doesn't matter if an individual looks like a desert rat or not. It's kind of like how it bothers you people don't respect others and don't pick up their dogs' poo. The only difference is it's noise poo, instead of actual poo:) I've had to work on my own beloved Ellie Dog for excessive barking at times, so I get it. Luckily for me, and much to her credit, she is very trainable, and listens to commands very well. The way you described the incidence(s) in the video, I think you understand what I'm saying. Again, I have tons of respect for you because I feel you are a very good person with a big heart, so please don't take what I said wrong.
K G 150% CORRECT!! Nonsense Barking is what its called - not Doggos fault - lack of training on owners part. SO many people have no Respect for others.. Thats why I'm setting here watching you tube RVers instead of putting truck to trailer and travel. I have always had 🐕 🐕 but when some comes to my property - the dogs will stop barking once I go out the door because they have been taught - its OK now I'm aware someone is here & you can "Now" go lie down. GOOD 🐕...
I always try to remind myself to take a deep breathe before I have a high speed fly apart but I can go from zero to get off my ass in a New York half second. Diplomacy can be fleeting when dealing with with a**holes. Don't mess with my dog, man lol. I just thought about checking on my mom down there by you. I think she's tenting it right now at Quartzsite waiting on a transmission repair. I better call and find out how she's getting along. Stay safe out there...
I understand both problems. First, I've got 50% hearing loss, but hear dogs bark 100+%, without the normal background. A dog that bark for a good reason is no problem for me, because I will go out and have a look. If there is someone walking or some other movement, no problem, accept and take note. Fortunately, everybody in the street where I live have the same attitude, and act on their dogs "talking/calling the boss". Incessant barking is a problem for many, but some dogs are more of a problem to teach than others. Then that anger you described..... Got to keep control on that one. I named it as "soul anger". It happens when you concentrate on something and something/someone else keeps on interfering, and you just want them to shut up or go away and they will not. The moment you let go of "control" it just snowball, and it is as if you cannot stop yourself. It is a horrible state and it can catch you unexpected. Not to say you will get physical, it is just a "bad moment" that may make you say or act outside of character. Get yourself a trigger phrase like " Hold and collect", before you say something and you feel that "rise of heat". It does happen a lot with people who had PTSD or just are under pressure. As long as you know about it, you can recognise and hit the brakes before it may escalates into something like you feeling shame about how you have acted, or worse, but we are all human.
I never use a long lease with my dogs here in AZ I live in Phoenix we have rattlesnakes live under bushes never see them until it's too late. While this time of winter likely hibernating might not see one, but in a few weeks we will warm up some they start coming out looking for food. Might be difficult to find 24 hour emergency veterinary care in a remote area of the state.
Some people will pay you an honest compliment and others use it as a ploy to gain advantage, I can't quite figure out which the older man is. Don't feel bad for sending that lady on a goose chase. She'll be back complaining about something else another day.
Dogs are like kids. Parents/dog owners think everyone should love their kids/dogs and think their idiosyncrasies/annoyances are just fine. Often it's not fine. Nowadays , confrontations with anyone-- is NEVER a good thing. You don't know who you may be dealing with--criminals, deranged psychos, druggies; thus you are correct in being cognizant of what a crazy person can and will do to Lefty for revenge. A dog is a WONDERFUL companion. I have had Rottweilers, Dobermans, and a sweetheart Cane Corso so I know a bit about big scary dogs with bad reputations and the reactions they generate. Pit Bulls as a breed kill/maim more people and animals than all other breeds--- combined. Some folks are afraid of them and scared people can be very dangerous. You and Lefty have fun and stay safe.
That's funny, I love the fact you sent her on her way looking for the barking dog 🐕 that stopped barking. You handled things good, It's not like you let him go on for hours. Lefty has a huge following 🤣 and we love him.
David, the fact you felt guilty about how you handled those situations, show what amazing character you have. I wish I was even HALF as patient and polite as you are. You handled both situations with plenty of class (and a tiny bit of sass) lol
@@pjf7943 I actually agree with you, a barking dog, especially at night, is sounding an alarm for a reason. "Only" 5 minutes of barking can wake up a relaxing neighbor and walk the distance to find out "why". Keep him in the house next Time. Jes sayin
Amen, i agree with Mia 100%. David is such a nice guy. Me being me and from Baltimore all my life I probably would have immediately said "man fuck you, take your dumb ass back over where you came from, and when you get there, you can fuck off".
Woh! What a nice community you guys have. Helping each other out.
dogs do dog things cats do cat things people unless its a karen. do people things. so be ware that you can't ask a dog to be a people and cant ask a cat to be a dog. its life deal with it. my uncle hated the smell of pigs. my other uncle had pigs. so he bitched at the other uncle that had the pigs. that uncle said if you want to smell roses go to the city this aint the city. so with that in mind if you don't want to listen to a dog bark go where this is no dogs.
@@bobham919 😂 perfect!!! I think I would have liked your uncle...who had the pigs😂❣️😂
Same thing as with older people who get easily annoyed in the presence of children. If you hate kids then don't eat at Chuck e cheese!
I’m a dog guy. I have 3. That said if you have multiple people complaining about your dog barking maybe you need to consider that it’s a problem. JMO
Some people just have to complain to get some drama in their sad lives.
Your hesitation around 6:38 made me laugh. No, I will never grow up.
!!!
People be hating. Keep up the good work. May the good Lord watch over you and your family and friends. Peace and Love 😊
You handled this guy perfectly! You did not over react! He was critical of you and Lefty. He actually was attempting dominance over you! I afraid I would not have been as polite as you! Mark Twain said “the more I know about people, the more I like my dog!” Your situation is a prime example!!!
@@pjf7943 Someone needs to handle you for barking.... GROW UP!!
Yea Bill it kinda bothered me for some days...
Geez! It was even *DURING DAYLIGHT HOURS!*
You were too nice.
Oh God that's a nightmare... I can't imagine
LOL, Lefty is GORGEOUS!!! 🐾🦴💞
I know this was several months ago but it's okay to get angry. Be kind to yourself. At least you know how you would react most of the time. Love your content and Lefty, much respect to you David
Thank you Stacy
thanks for explaining the spam/they were target me/ you have a wonderful dog-friend/an try to help a camper too/thanks much
I have a van and would love to travel and live in it.
No good deed goes unpunished!!! My grandparents lost a lot of dogs that was fed meat with glass in it from neighbors, keep him safe people are asses
Omg!! That's so fckd up!!!! I don't know how people can do harm to any animal. I could never hurt an animal, even if it was annoying.
*"...lost A LOT OF dogs?!"*
Jesus!
Thank you Christine :)
All Lefty was saying was, “Daddy I want to come and be with you…..please!”
Because he adores you so much!
Oh I hope Dually gets well Dana :)))
@@TheCampulanceMan thanks David! Surgery is on the 22nd.
It happens, better to keep calm and collected gives you control of the situation, lose control and get mad will just give the other parties control over you. Your videos are nice to watch. Wishing you and lefty all the best.
Thank you Paul
I love your channel and adore lefty
Thanks Wayne :)
Congrats to Mario Gonzalez for winning. I was going to enter. Byt I've already got a similar booster pack and a Jumper box also, so I didn't want to take away the chance for other people to win one.
Thanks Sal for that - I know a bunch of folks pass on the giveaways for that reason :)
My Mack is my security system. I want him to bark.
Hi awesome to see yu and Lefty i would do like yu tell them campers to go on because yu and Lefty was there before they was
You're actually very patient!
We all have an off day every once in awhile. Congrats Mario!
Happy trails!
Pappy Boyington on Black Sheep called his dog Meatball. I haven't seen the one where it's "Scraps"... or whatever.. I like your little guy- he's a character!! :)
It was the comedy move Airplane with Leslie Neilson.
@@TheCampulanceMan I missed that one.
I have names I always use for little yippee barking dogs, Chaz and Spaz. They seem to always show up in pairs. 😀
Congrats Mario. Thank you Campulance Man for the opportunity
Howdy from Ireland. I have only just started following you and Lefty. Looking forward to keeping tabs on ya. Safe travels. Mick.

LOL I always say maybe he just saved you from being robbed or assaulted.. he doesn't bark for nothing.
Yeah! Common sense!
Sounds like everyone had a bad day tomorrow a new day God Bless
Ya you are right you can't trust no one, besides your dog was doing something normal and if they have a problem they can leave. Your dog is beautiful. Older people get a little crazy when they get older and yes you can't trust them either.
I've been dreaming of being a part time RVer, but now I am having second thoughts about taking a dog with me. Thanks for sharing your videos, I've been learning a lot from you. Enjoy life!!
Thank you for being with us :)
That GooLoo is well worth having. Mine sat in the trunk for 2 years before I needed it and it was still 100%
That's great retention!! I love these things after a couple months of use :)
When his barks start to bother me, they've probably been going on for waaay to long already :)
Good job! I think that's funny how you handled that! This just popped up on my feed. I'll subscribe now!
Thank you for joining us :)
We beat ourselves up more than other sometimes :/
The videos are my tea time break, thank you for the videos😁
You might want to order a pair of "Lock Laces" for your sneakers. They are just elastic enough to allow you to pull sneakers on and off without ever lacing them again. And they keep as tight a fit as you want. I've wearing them three years, even on hiking boots. One of life's truly ingenius little pleasures. They got the tensioning and all perfect.
I'm looking at them :)) thank you.
"Looks like a Grateful Dead concert" LOL
Right ;)
Lefty, I love him! "Grateful Dead concert" hahahahaha
As for the “Karen” you made her day! What fun for a “Karen” tiggered to get into everyone’s face about a phantom barking dog! Hilarious!!
She did!!! I couldn't believe what she did...
We all have stressful days and sometimes we just aren't our normal calm self but don't beat yourself up over it because no one can be perfect.
We all camp in the desert for the solitude. Don’t abuse the privilege, control your animal please.
Excellent content, this is one of the reasons why I have a 4×4 rig where I can be a little further out and yet be someone close.. more space not to be bothered.
Thanks David. Safe travels.
God bless!
Hi David. You’re appreciated too!
Two Part Comment.
Part 1 - great videos, i am using your experiences to plan my own trip, I enjoy watching!
Part 2 - The dog is your dog, and your responsibility. Other people myself included would not want to listen to barking all the time. Be polite, and train your dog. The incessant barking can drive some of us nuts LOL
Anyways good work and thanks
Stay safe and keep practicing freedom brother.
I just had to tell you I made your Progreso/hamburger soup and I was surprised at how good it is. I guess we better tell all the coyotes to stop howling at night . And don't forget to tell the night owls to shut up too.
i wouldn't worry about the old guy, or about lefty's barking its not like lefty barks non stop or anything. What matters is you tried to help someone who needed a hand and I'm sure she appreciated it!

Nice channel, thank you!
That's what he does, if he sees me he gets animated. If I drive away... silence :)
Sounds more like that guy was having a bad day. Love you & Lefty!!
That's rough - do you have a diagnosis of what is wrong?

People can literally hear my rig running. Air or heater on. They say they thought he needed something or thought he was q out food or water. Crazy. But I have tried every thing. And he may sit quite for a bit. But every time he gives in. Best wishes
Lefty sits patiently when we go shopping. Doesn't make a sound :)) he has honked the horn a couple times though!
Don’t sweat it, you did great.
Hi David & Lefty👋😊 No comment on the PMS'g neighbors 😳 Oops, did I just say that?😉 Congratulations to the winner, winner chicken dinner Mario! 🏆
Mario - so far he's MIA....
Our dogs are better than most people we meet.. My Girl Freya gives a big bark out to lefty.. Blessings to you and yours coming at you from the mountains of Southern Oregon
Freya... woof!
Congratulations, Mario!
Thanks. I appreciate you David.... And of course, Lefty dog:)
No. Hes an asshole. That's why he has so many issues with people
K G
150% CORRECT!!
Thanks Pam :)
Before I watch the video or even read any comment I have an image of David's, version of losing it is very calm, polite and kind.
Funny :)))
@@TheCampulanceMan but I was right!
Nobody, but nobody, puts our sweet Lefty in a corner.
He's just doing Lefty things!
I see Lefty dirty dancing right now 🤣🤣🤣🤣😍❤️
lmaooooooo@ mayor of the camp area. TFF.. you handled the "entitled mayor" just fine!!
You have a problem, you are too polite!!!
Congratulations Mario!!
OMG...to make a short story long!
Thanks Mia I appreciate that :)
@@pjf7943 I actually agree with you, a barking dog, especially at night, is sounding an alarm for a reason. "Only" 5 minutes of barking can wake up a relaxing neighbor and walk the distance to find out "why".
Keep him in the house next Time. Jes sayin
Simp.
Amen, i agree with Mia 100%. David is such a nice guy. Me being me and from Baltimore all my life I probably would have immediately said "man fuck you, take your dumb ass back over where you came from, and when you get there, you can fuck off".
