As always an amazing video! I love your story telling, 'love' how you highlight the deplacement of unhoused people that is often happens when an area is gentrified.
This was cool to see! I used to work for a fireworks company and as a last hurrah, the owners of the Gateway Mall had us do a fireworks show from the roof of the building. It was so freaky climbing through floors of abandoned space while carrying pounds of explosives lol. A fun possible idea might be building your take on the Rio Grande Plan - it's a project proposed by a couple of civil engineers to revitalize the basically unused train station while bolstering passenger rain
Presenting the video in person? With expressive body language? Amazing! It may feel like a gimmick, but really adds to the presentation. Mixed use is an interesting development (pun intended) for an American suburb, a positive one. And pedestrian streets are always welcome. Ah, another camp eviction. A recurring theme. And good public transit now? What? Did the Mormons finally put Lane Man in an asylum? Great! Is Saltaire beginning an "Build Back Better" arc? A final arc before C:S2? Here's hope for a happy ending, or at least a bombastic finale!
Until watching your videos, I honestly had no idea what Procedural Objects was all about! I'm still not sure I need to get that deep into customization, but now I get it!
I do like that you kept the old Mall in the background though, usually these kinds of things they'll just get rid of the mall which makes me sad. Like me lifestyle centers don't replace malls, they just build onto them, for one thing, I always liked the Aesthetics of the 80s Mall, just my childhood calling but there's just something fun about it, these lifestyle centers look really nice, and upscale but they don't have a fun look to them. Personally I'm an outlet mall girl, some of my favorite malls of ever have been outlet.
How do you raise your props? Mine seem to always stay on the ground! haha btw I hope it's ok to say: you are SO beautiful! Wow! Cool that you showed us the person behind the friendly voice 🙂
I am new to this captivating cinematic universe. The only character I am familiar with is Lane Man. Is there a primer or a comprehensive list of all the characters and cities within this universe?
No primer yet hahah I think we may have to do one, but for the birth of Lane Man as a normal guy, Episode 42, but you've gotta watch Episode 41 to get context behind the beginning of 42 😊 Cascadia Bay eps 2 and 4 give a tiny bit of context around the characters in Saltaire EP 41. Otherwise it hasn't fully developed yet, it's still a work in progress 😊
@@CitiesByDiana I just watched the episodes. Wow! I'm blown away. There's so much depth in the narrative; it's beautiful. I'm curious, do you write the stories and design the cities all by yourself? I liked the friendship between Kayleigh and Jake. It felt genuine and supportive. I started laughing as soon as I heard Lane Man's voice. I don't know why, but I just find everything about him so hilarious 😆. Kinda unrelated, but are you familiar with Andres Duany? I created a public playlist on my account titled "Andres Duany_Suburban Sprawl." It's a very old, two-part lecture where he discusses issues related to car-centric city planning and the lack of walkable spaces. I thought you might find it interesting. If you enjoy the lecture, look up Seaside, FL. Duany planned the city based on his vision of walkability. Obviously, Lane Man can't find out about this city because he'd absolutely lose his mind 😅.
@@ALSAHAFI13 hahah thanks so much I'm glad you liked it. Yep everything was written by me and all the cities were built by me with the exception of some of the real world cities in the Lane Man stuff, which are usually premade saves I found on Steam but expanded on or modified by me, although some of them were built by me, usually with some road layout or a few buildings already included in the map. But the main series cities (Saltaire, Cascadia Bay, etc) are all made and designed by me from scratch and the Cascadia Bay map itself wsd made by me using a height map of Astoria Oregon as a guide. Gonna have to look up this Andres person though, seems intriguing 😆
@@CitiesByDiana The skill and commitment are incredible I must say. Are you an urban planner? It seems like you have an extensive knowledge of urban planning, which makes me wonder if this is more than just a hobby for you.
Hello, I've recently started playing and I'm struggling. Is it normal for, at some points, your entire city to die pretty much at the same time lol. My citizens all seem to be dying at once and despite having crematorium and graves everywhere my hearses can't keep up clearing them
Yes that's called a death wave and happens when you expand too quickly cos everyone moves in at the same time and dies of old age at the same time....it's a pain in the ass with vanilla CS, there's some mods like I believe it's called Lifecycle Rebalanced if I remember correctly that can fix that.
@@CitiesByDiananope, it's cool, I WILL be able to make it, cos I thought we were going out for a meal tomorrow, but we couldn't find any decent places so we are ordering Domino's instead
You have NO IDEA how happy it made me to see Saltaire again. The foundation this channel was built upon. 😍

Yup! Hoping to salvage some of what was lost to the destructive power of game updates and asset loss 😭

Yeah I thought it was nice to keep it instead, it's really what should be done.
There’s this mall in the city that I live in that was packed until a few years ago when they closed 57/65 of the tenants
RETURN OF SALTAIRE!

Netherlands.......
Yeah right. Those fellas really remembered how Lane Man™ plowed a stroad and a monster lane count viaduct in Amsterdam....
They took their revenge by removing these parking lots
Amazing video looking forward to new episodes.
this is so cool, you made up a background story.
The drivers be Finn’s mad with this one
Ur one of my cities skyline ytubers
Nice video! And funny enough the community college I go to used to be a mall.
(I remember said mall… it was kinda mid ngl)
Holding out for justice for the homeless people. Somehow.
The story of Saltaire is a yearlong saga of ups and downs, and once it wraps up, hopefully justice will be served
diana you are so prettyy
Wow. I love this idea
A zombie mall cop would be dope in the thumbo lol
