The software I use just came out with an updated multilingual model that REALLY does well with Spanish, especially that "official" sounding Latin American/USA Spanish accent
Thanks 🙂 I sampled a bunch of station announcements from the Bart which is the local system here in the SF Bay Area and I trained a few AI voices on a mix of different station announcement voices from there and for some reason the AI made them sound a little more....I don't know how to describe it except....boomer? Which was perfect for this city.
@@MrKasenom nah it's literally a sample of what is essentially really primitive text to speech software used by BART plugged into Elevenlabs which thinks it's an actual human voice and gives it human like qualities. Which is what makes it sound so....weird hehe
Haha you know when I built this city I had no idea what kinda transit they had besides a light rail. Then when I went I realized that's ALL they had. A lot of the build is based on real world places but much of it, like the metro system, is totally fictional. But I made West Valley very much while looking at a Google Earth image of it 😅
oh ok so I learned that if you wake up and get a notification from Diana and then click to watch it immediately and that video happens to be a first person ride video that you are just going to be setup to have a great day. Another banger of a video but you never miss. Thank you so much for all the time and effort you put into all of the content across all the platforms . Your videos seriously are such a highlight of my day!
Tbh should would be super to make a river that runs the whole length of the train that you run the entire cities waste into. It would be an art piece that everyone contributes too and with the added functionality its a win win for all
I kinda liked the honest mention there that it’s not just highway projects from the 50s that divide neighborhoods. Transit, albeit a smaller footprint, can too if not done properly. I think a lot of people fail to realize that. Thus transit development must be properly targeted and well thought out…which unfortunately takes time and money. Can’t just throw a rail line in wherever you want just cuz you want HSR or Commuter/Suburban Rail…just like people would be absolutely enraged if the highway ridiculousness of the 50s came back and started ripping through cities again.
Yep, I've done a few videos about this concept. It happened here in Oakland with West Oakland Bart which essentially forced the closure of an entire street lined with black-owned businesses including a bunch of blues and jazz clubs which were a huge part of the cultural landscape of the neighborhood and turned the area into essentially a food and entertainment desert and paradoxically made it more like the sad suburbs of the outskirts of cities than a transit oriented neighborhood and it's only "recovered"(gentrified) in the past 5-10 years. Same thing is happening in central California because of HSR, entire neighborhoods being leveled to place the tracks, almost all low income or working class. They sure as hell weren't gonna put HSR tracks in rich ppls backyards, and the stations aren't even going to serve the people who are effected by the construction. Basically any transit construction that isn't on street or underground is going to cause displacement unless they're building it on a green field which is incredibly rare.
@@CitiesByDiana exactly. If people are gonna be critical, they can’t ignore the full picture. I’ve always believed in balance. Both forms of transportation are needed…highways and transit. However there is a right way and a wrong way to do both. So I enjoyed that little detail you threw in there, because that plus everything you just wrote is so true.
This is great, I love it ^-^ The first person ride itself is really beautiful, there's a LOT of detail in the city 💛 I also really really like the overhead views of the entire city, it's like looking at an actual map, which i find always exciting :D And the announcements are awesome! They are exactly the right mix between realistic, immersive, dystopian, but still amusing ^-^ And they were specifically talking about church-approved *undergarments*, so if you show up with no pants, maybe that's a grey area, eh? 🤔🧐 😹 Thank you so much for the video, really appreciate it ^-^ ALL the best :)
All that money that could have been spent on freeway lanes. I appreciate Saltaire promoting proper undergarments, but, man, it it sadly losing the war on cars. 😞
@1:49 pedestrian jumps on the track 😮😂 Edit: Beautiful city but just a heads up…some of your captions are just too short and the screen moves too fast between frames for you to read everything
Yes, the phone number to Saltaire PD is a real phone number....I DARE you to call it. 😈

I love the bilingual announcements! The attention to detail with your vids is second to none!❤
Haha thanks it's google translate but I know just enough Spanish that I'm (pretty sure but not 100% certain) it's (mostly) correct 😂
As a Spanish speaker, the announcements just caught me out off gaurd, specially for the fact that they sound so clear and natural
The software I use just came out with an updated multilingual model that REALLY does well with Spanish, especially that "official" sounding Latin American/USA Spanish accent
The announcements and lore behind your city are hilarious love how it's not all sunshine and rainbows
I prefer to make my cities a tiny bit dystopian for funzies 😆
Holy shit i never thought i'd be sucked into the lore of a "fake" town via transit line
The MTA announcements just make everything so immersive 🥰
Thanks 🙂

Very nice, can’t imagine how nice your CS2 cities will be
It's been fun seeing SLC add all it's new transit over the last couple decades. But absolutely a metro system would always be better 😁

Ah the info flashing on the screen at the end...just like a real life!
😆
I hope someone makes a Salt Lake Valley map for CS2 when it gets released
found this little link in my discord channel so I figured I'd give it a watch or two.. or three or keep it on repeat...............
The level of detail and interest in this video actually made me say wtf outloud. Diana Insanely talented.
The american mind couldn't comprehend this

I'm so glad you liked it. It was a lot of fun to make. I plan on doing more of these as Saltaire has a VERY robust tram network hehe
@@CitiesByDiana Looking forward to them! ^-^

Thank you 😊

Very SLC-ish with old BART-ish trains
That's the vibe I'm going for
you love rachmaninoff. tbf it goes hard
Yes I do, I've been really into this whole era of music in general, it makes good background music for CS videos for some reason
The Train announcements sound pretty dystopian to be honest.
That's exactly what I was going for.
Amazing video quality! Good job
I’m surprised there’s a line
chilling
The lady jumping in front of the train at 1:50 😮😢
I didn't realize it until people pointed it out 😭
Diana the tracks need so much Node Controller work 🙈. Beautiful video. Nice editing job.
Sorry I don't know that much about train tracks 😕

just as the last of the legacy BART trains get taken out of service it seems youve adopted them and put them back to work
Yup 😆
where can i find a mod to add bart trains?
Steam Workshop just search for bart

I am Lane Man's disgust. Rip out those rails and add more Freedom Lanes!
