I remember everyone losing their minds when Janikowski made a 61 and then a 63 yarder, now we got Aubrey with a 66, a 65, and almost making a slip 64 yarder. Looking at the graph of average distance of all NFL field goals each year, 70 is almost guaranteed to happen at some point and other factors could push it even farther.
Dallas always goes through this odd phase where the team itself is horrid, but our kicker is lights out. Or the team is lights out, and our Kicker can’t hit the side of a barn. Only few times do both actually line up.

it's quite difficult to hit kicks on turf with the addition of all the ground rubber. it slides out from under your plant foot and you are slip and sliding on 1 foot as you kick, everytime. the ground rubber crumbles and has soft spot collapses all over the place. it's the reason why players keep getting so many more knee injuries on turf.
