    Some people choose one or the other when it comes to the Squat and Leg Press. But for the programs I create, I like to include both and change the foot position on the leg press to help target lagging areas in the quads.
    When it comes to elevating your training, you don't need to go too crazy with innovative exercises. Just slightly modify the ones you are already doing.
    Just like a close-grip curl places more emphasis on the outer biceps, the same can be said for putting your feet closer together when trying to target your quads and vice versa.

    If I dont have access to any machines, do you think it would be safe to do say, a couple heavy sets of neutral stance squats (since I'm strongest in this position), and then knock out a couple lighter sets of wide or narrow stance squats whilst still using barbell on the back? I'm trying to maximize quad stimulation while only having access to a barbell and weights. Thankfully, I like to squat, but I'm worried that squating too much using a barbell on the back is going to strain the heck out of my lower back, which is why I plan on using heel arches soon to keep my back straighter. Any thoughts, Scott?
    P.S. Thank you for all of your uploads and information. You probably haven't seen me around, but I've been watching your content for years. Any time someone asks me for fitness advice, I tell them to go watch your videos.
    Cheers.

    • @ScottHermanFitness
      @ScottHermanFitness  Год назад +1

      yeah thats definitely ok. I've even done that in the past as well.
      as for lower back pain. That's all relative to your fitness level, form and mobility. As long as you are progressing safely, there should be no issues. In the event you feel like your core strength isn't enough to handle the weight you are squatting. At that time go for a weight belt.

    @ankitpradhan4183 7 месяцев назад

    i mean i dont know how can people just do squats and go to leg press.
    if you go from squats to leg press, have you really squatted that good?
    i have done both high volume amd high intensity leg day. I prefer the latter.
    but regardless of those, I could.never go from a heavy ass squat or a high volume squat to a leg press and perform as good.
    I just train for strength now.
    sometimes or even back then I'd do a heavy squat for 5s , and may be do a bulgraian split squat, thats not too heavy but not too light so somewhere 5-8 rep ranges, then may be do some RDLs,
    if I am doing another leg or squat or even have running some day coming in a week, there's no way I'd go through all these.
    I mean people, if you can go through exercises with same intensity, your first exercise was really bad.

      No, he does 3 sets of 8-12 reps using 10kg on leg extensions and leg curls while scrolling his phone, and never going near or to failure. Which is also why he has sticks for legs and will probably be wheel-chaired as soon as his 50th birthday hits. If he lives that long, of course.

They are dangerous and a bad fit for the human body in terms of biomechanics. Most people just injure themselves, since guys are incapable of leaving their egos out of lifting.
