RV air conditioners gone wild!

  • 2022 Jayco Pinnacle, air conditioner/ electrical system gone wild! ZONE 1 AND 3 somehow are using eachothers circuits to run the fans, I know it sounds crazy but the proof is in the pudding as they say.

      @@MRRVTECH I can just about promise you it will turn out to be something simple. We tend to want to panic when we run across something strange like you are dealing with. Remember the basics and hang in there….you will find it.

    Check the neutral make sure is well connected and is not an alternator is a generator

    The fan in the running AC is spinning the fan in the off unit (free wheeling) which is creating a charge. Like an alternator.

      Great theory I can try to prove....haven't seen an AC motor create a current without voltage though

      @@MRRVTECHhe is right in that electric motors use current to operate, but also produce a current (a back electro magnetic force, ie EMF…). These units are connected someway. Is it possible that they share a same neutral wire?..

      Yes they share a neutral buss bar in the breaker box.

      A better method of reading current is in line. Those clamp on meters can be flaky sometimes.
