Brokaw appeared on Dave's first CBS show. There was a kerfuffle if David could bring some of his bits (stupid pet tricks etc) to CBS. NBC claimed that such material were its intellectual property. Brokaw came on stage and said he was repossessing NBC's intellectual property and took Dave's cue cards. It was very funny.

Brokaw is my favorite news anchor. Watched him doing the news a few thousand times. Read two of his books. But now I keep thinking of The Simpsons as I listen to his voice. LOL.

This situation is where I started my career as a Marine. I was a Recon shooter and was picked up by a agency to go into El Salvador. This is some of the side stuff from the Iran Contra business that the then Vice President Bush, who had been the director of the CIA knew first hand, but then lied to congress about not knowing any of the details. Honduras, El Salvador and Nicaragua and Panama was were SOC teams were trained for jungle warfare. It paid off but much of this stuff was classified and off the record.
