Anyone else terrified of bugs/spiders/etc but also fascinated about them at the same time?
I want to say that's everyone but i know that's not true.
Daniel Shoemaker I agree; and that's coming from a person who lives in a place that has some of the world's deadliest spiders.

I was always bewildered about how strong the Hercules Beetle is. The ability to lift 850 TIMES YOUR BODY WEIGHT, DAMN! If the average man was that strong, they would be able to lift around 82 tons. Now that is impressive.
It's not true. The number is closer to 100 times their body weight according to studies done.
Nothing close to the horned dung beetle, that thing can lift up to 1141 times its own body weight!

Praying Mantises are my favorite insect. If you ever find one just take a moment to look at it. They are fascinating. They also have quite a personality. Another fascinating insect is the walking stick. Just pick it up and put it in a branch or on a stick and it'll disappear. Makes me laugh every time.

Whenever I encounter a walking stick, I usually let it crawl on me a little. They dont hurt you, and they're pretty cool

The leaf bug as well. Totally harmless but really cool.
BRO GIANT BUG DOESNT MEAN THREAT. Even rhino beetles are harmless. I know that because I have one as a pet
@@CRUSADER_Gaming420 so true. As far as I’m concerned the most harmful bugs are also the tiniest. I’d rather live with any of these any day than a single bedbug.

Glad to know that most giants beetles and butterflies/moths are harmless. I love them!
WatchMojo could you please say the length also in cm for non-citizens from USA?

inches x2= centimeters either do the math or dont complain
@@dyslexicapricot4881 I'm shit at math, I literally can't do almost anything
@@dyslexicapricot4881
1 inch actually equals 2.54 centimeters. If you only do "inches x2 = centimeters" you will have a noticeable amount of error in your conversions.
Yes many beetles are gentle. I have pet beetles too and they are very curious and gentle. The biggest threat is them not letting go of your hand if they think its cozy enough to have a nap
4:14 the guy handling this thing is shaking like crazy, i would be too
im surprisingly okay with most of these. the water bug and wasp can go extinct anytime though... please.
Corey Seet I've had encounters with smaller versions of both and they can die.
But those wasps KILL nasty spiders! Surely that earns them a reprieve?
They don't kill tarantulas, they "implant" them.
Corey Seet Im with you on the Toe Biter, however the Tarantula Hawk is an effective spider hunter which if anything, is going to help me haha.

*Bugs and Giant Spider from King Kong:* aww how cute.
2 cool facts: The Hurculies beetle is the model for the gen 2 pokemon Heracross and the Atlas moth is one of the many bugs to be featured in the popular Nintendo franchise, Animal Crossing.
AlexTheUmbreon5 yeah but heracross is modeled after a normal rhinoceros beetle, while mega heracross is modeled after the Hercules beetle
so when they were talking about the giant water bug and the movie scene popped up that woman really just lied to her child
The Luna moth is also pretty huge. I've only seen one in person once when I lived in Florida and I was amazed by its size. At the time I had no idea what it was I have to look it up lol. I actually thought it was a bird.

Atlas holds the sky, not the Earth..
Miljan Kostadinovic What if Atlas is doing a handstand on the sky and holding up the earth with his legs?
Kenan Šabić Wow, you must have thought that through :D
Miljan Kostadinovic Yeah, that's true, but a Ducthman named Mercator thought he held the Earth on his shoulders...that the common reason given for why "atlases" are called "atlases." (However, there was also a Maritian king called Atlas whom Mercator credied as being the first geographer.)
