I've always wondered how the camera crew are able to shoot at such macro levels so precisely at the exact moments. Simply mind-blowing. Surely gives us a great POV of how hard lives of other creatures are in this world and how much granted we take our lives
Some of it's shot in a studio
A lot of the time, (though not all) they recreate their natural environments in terrariums, so they can better film and re-create scenarios to film.
most of the time its all staged and its not even a joke, they simply use artificial ambients and put the bugs and small insects and animals close so they can interact.
Different is with big animals, in that case they wait for hours until eventually a huge lion will eat a small deer for the joy of everyone

The best part. "I'm a Bombardier Beetle. No really see" *walks* - lizard said probably
"All kinds of insects have developed chemical weapons"
This sentence has a much deeper meaning than you think.
Humanity felt personaly attacked by that sentence
Code red, code red, it's fake deep yet again. It could work, but we're by definition not insects, and insects that actually share some similarities (like living in organised packs) are quite rare. If this is a metaphor to how we're pathetic (comparison to insects usually means to convey the message that someone is pathetic and primitive), then it also fails, quite spectacularly as well. Insects are fascinating, with such small size they managed to exist for millions of years, many of them managed to become incredibly complex as well. We are fascinating too, if we abstract from our own perspective (what I mean by that: we are used to our own technological and cultural advancements, as such we view it as common and even boring, that is why we must try to look at it from a different perspective), we will see that humanity is quite interesting. We've managed to achieve incredible things, like reshaping mountains, creating fantastic art pieces (which don't hold any real value outside of our own culture, but are still impressive by how much work is put into them), and progressed from using whatever lies on the ground, to creating humongous structures, but at what cost? If we look from another side, humans are destructive and vicious beings, capable of destroying everything in their path; we don't need to hunt, but we're still hunting animals, just for sadistic pleasure, we don't need to cut down forests, but instead of trying to find a better alternative, we destroy them out of greed, we don't need to pollute everything around us including ourselves, but out of our laziness we refuse to do anything else. Humanity is a two-faced coin, we're both creative and destructive, helpful and cruel, productive and lazy, that's another reason why we're fascinating. And here You are saying "wow, how deep" to a phrase about chemical warfare used by insects, instead of trying to become someone who will change the world enough to make this phrase completely unusable if applied to humanity, You embrace all horrible aspects of Your species, because it's way easier than doing anything.
