I have wondered if it is in the direction the building is likely to fall in an earthquake. I would be bragging day and night if i was an engineer or construction worker and filled a hole that big while laying down all the piping necessary for water and sewage. #5 looked really small by comparison and ended up collapsing again afterwards according to this video. So i am just blown away that no information *at* *all* can be found about the Guatemala sinkhole being filled or the day to day or week to week process that it must have taken.

But what seem clear was the sinkhole started after they deforested the area. It is likely that the tree root system played a part in preventing the sink whole initially. The rest is history.
