    Great videos mate just came across your channel, genuine nice guy , you clearly aren’t a bricklayer, no offence, a little tip , if you can’t work out you bond in those footings, at least stick a wall tie in , you had a straight joint up all three , your only literally a half out of getting it all to bond 👍🏼 good stuff

    Nice to see another job starting. Can I ask you two points. Do you think there’s a big price difference between a block building and a timber one the same size.
    And the wall your building next to the neighbours wall are you planning on leaving it un rendered as so close and if you are wont rain water be able to penetrate or will you treat the block work some how. I only ask as I m planning mine and will be in the same situation against another wall but someone made me question it as I was going to leave it untreated myself. Thanks mate.

      Hi Dean, I would say the big difference will be labour as timber will go up faster although timber prices are real crazy at the moment.
      The wall next to the garage will be done in brick so it won’t need rendering. That’s what the customer wanted. Personally I think it would be fine as rain will hardly touch it especially as the roof will slightly overhang the gap also. I hope that helps.

      @@darrenthebuilder Thankyou mate, I was thinking that you might use bricks. But I suppose the gap is very small so not like it will get too soaked. I appreciate your reply Thankyou love your vids my friend cheers again. Dean.

    Hi Darren great videos as always! Please advise surely dpc level should be at least 150mm above highest ground level?? Thanks brother keep them coming ✌️

    • @darrenthebuilder
      @darrenthebuilder  3 года назад +1

      Thanks Frank
      Yes typical you would. The issue here is keeping the height under the requirement. It’s only the back wall that is 75mm high because of the alley concrete being higher than the garden ground.

    I like you're video's, buy you are obviously not a bricklayer, you're working on the wrong side of the wall, the outside is the face, except for the one end. You have a closer in the wall on one length and on the opposite length, a three quarter, strictly taboo, when it could have been so easily rectified. String line nowhere near taught enough, tell your labourer to fill the spot, before it's empty
    I'm all for bricklayers doing brickwork, would you let a vet operate on your heart, each to it's own.
    Still like your video's, you work well.

      Thanks Mike for your feedback. I had the front /back line explained by another and it’s helped me moving on. Look out for the upcoming video building the brick wall on this job. I’ve improved a lot with the guidance. Peace
