Born in 1948, I have watched Jonathan Winters perform on television most of my life and love him so much. It is wonderful to be able to look back on 75 years of being entertained by really talented people - until recent times, that is.
Jonathan Winters is the best comedian ever!!! I love Johnny Carson!! The best late night host ever!!! Miss all of the greats!!!! 😂😂😂😂.... ❤❤❤❤....
I owned a restaurant in old Town Pasadena back in the late 70s and Jonny and his wife came in often, autographed a wall for us, great guy
I'm watching the 70s TV show "Family" for the first time. Never watched a show that was in Pasadena.
Wow! What a treat!
I’m English but I could listen to Jonathon Winters for hours,a very funny Man.
Johnny Carson without question was and will always be the benchmark for a talk show host.and comedian!! His blank looks at the perfect time and the quick come backs were iconic!!!
You can tell they really like each other. Miss them both.
Johnny enjoyed him as much as us and am grateful that these moments are saved for all time. Thanks!
Q
I do miss these wonderful shows with Johnny Carson. Jonathan Winters always entertaining and Johnny's and Eds laughing is truthful not fake. Great memories
I GREW UP WATCHING THIS GREAT COMIC AND FEEL VERY LUCKEY TO BE ABLE TO ENJOY ALL HIS CHARACTERS WHO SEEMED SO REAL. GREAT GUY !
me to he was so funny . crazy never knew what he was going to say.
He could imitate so many folks in many hilarious sounding voices. I also had the pleasure of watching this guy with my pop. Great laughs and always entertaining in a good clean way.
Why are you yelling. 🙄
I m an artist who Jonathan commissioned art work from . I d finish it and deliver it and we'd talk for a couple hours about art. He loved painting and paintings as well Native Americans portrayed in art.
Wow 🤩
you were so fortunate to know him
Exactly what did you do ?
Wow Iknow that’s Great memories btw luv name my Brother named Brian GodBless ❤️🙏
What artwork?
I'm doing the 2020 Hunker dance. Currently I'm healthy. I have a house full of food and TP and enough Seagram's to float a battleship. I'm binge watching Carson. Johnathan Winters and a few drinks will help me get through this. I'm still here and doing well. Thank you Lord and God bless everyone at this most trying time.
Thank u GodBless ❤️🙏
Update?
Watching some of these this early morning on the West Coast, hunkering down at home during the Coronavirus situation, i just kept thinking I wish someone like this lived next door to me. What a marvelous time we would have had telling stories and cracking up over clever lines here and there. I bet he was a wonderful man to have as a friend. Good times to be sure. Thanks for posting this.
You can tell there's a lot of respect from his peers.
Such a favorite.
Jonny had the best Best on his show, we need that today ,
I Agree never missed episode nightly thing back in day
No one can rise to the level of Johnny Carson - no one. The young kids today have no concept of quality entertainment!
Those greats from the past, they were 2nd to none!!.. Those folks stand the test of time..👌..i long to go back to those wonderful days ....
Yes! They really do stand the test of time. Nobody will watch Colbert or the other nonsense 50 years from now. But Johnny and many of his fantastic guests you can watch and re-watch every now and then. Legends, all of them.
There will never be another of both of them. What great talents , both of them. We loved them.
Johnathan Winters is a comedic genius of the highest order!
I love all the Greats, Winters is the one I watch over and over##
Jonathan....anytime can make ya laugh....when he gets going and cracks Johnny up is the best. So many things, his characters, facial expressions, how he says something, the eyeroll....just too funny!!!
This man is HILARIOUS with his stories...
his wife Shelly was on the Roseanne show.
its sad the youth will never know this great man
I love watching Jonathan Winters. He was so funny.
Bright, witty and unpredictable. Sweet and always makes you wondering, "What's next?" Wish we had more of his ilk today!!
I remember reading about Winters struggling with depression. It's good to hear him talking about taking his grown son fishing. I hope that they kept a good relationship going.
.I no
He just passes a little time with Johnny, Ed and the audience like a favorite funny uncle. No pressure to perform. It's nice seeing Jonathan Winters so relaxed, because you get the feeling that it was a needed break from some very dark times.
Total opposite of Rickles. And Jonathan never insulted.
@@m.e.d.7997
Ditto comic geniuses Laurel and Hardy. Never did what Lettermen etc did
My favorite all-time comedian!
Oh me too , he was th best ,now that I'm older I appreciate him even more , I grew up watching Jonny every night , they just don't.make like they use too .glad I grew up when I did ,
Me too GodBless ❤️🙏
Just sad to see it all disappear on account lazy citizens and lousy politician thieves and liars
~Love to watch Johnny....& Jonathan
one of a kind. he will never be replaced.
Miss Jonathan Winters and Johnny Carson. Both Rest in Peace.
Also Ed, don't forget Ed. He's gone too.
Ed who?
+Bill M Ed as in Ed McMahon. The show's announcer.
never heard of him.
You are kidding me, right? Ed McMahon has basically been the announcer for "The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson" ever since its first airing on October 1, 1962 to Johnny's last show on May 22, 1992. That's three decades and you've never heard of him? I hope you're being sarcastic by saying that.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 the good old days, and he's not foul mouthed or dirty, love all these guys,RIP
Indeed TRUMP is disgusting
Yes ma’am GodBless ❤️🙏
No one did 17 minutes on Carson and had the entire world in his hand. Only Johnny Winters
we'll call you k dean martin and Jonathan winters my favorites on the Carson show. Throw in Don Rickles
I tip my cap,to those all time greats from yesteryear!!..they unleashed lots of good time laughs, for all of us to enjoy!!...thanks for the cherished memories!!⌛
I could literally watch hours of Jonathan just holding up his paintings on screen and delivering the titles. Of course he was a comic genius, but the combination of that part of his improv talent combined with his artistic skill is simply incomparable, well, VERY hard to compare to, to me. I used to study abstract and surrealist art and he never came up at a class session. It was a friend who had one of his published books of his paintings and I looked at them and fell into a trance of just surreal bliss while bursting out laughing. There are others, but there is no other.
Jonathan Winters is a man for all seasons. Such a good sport.
And always funny, amazing!
Always loved Jonathan Winters.
Johnny was the best host and interviewer.. brought out the best in his guests. Laughed easily and meant it.
Well, he needed a good guest, but when he had respect for and rapport with his guests the way he did with, say, Winters or Dangerfield or Rickles, then he was at his best.
@@cwpo1973 I think Johnny was good with almost all guests.
And he loved winters
Loved h8m. He is hilarious. He also lived in Bellbrook, OH where I grew up. The library was also named after him ."Winters Library."
Him.
Love me some Jonathan Winters...❤
Jonathans comedy is one of a kind...the great kind!
Intelligent humor. You can see he was a smart man.
@@m.e.d.7997 His mind was always rolling and thinking ahead of himself, a little like Robin Williams but much less annoying!
@@dalegribble60 Too fast and all over the place, not funny. Jonathan was and I loved his calm delivery.
@@dalegribble60 Johnny C was a fan of Robin Williams though.
@@m.e.d.7997 and Johnathan's facial expressions!
Winters and Rickles on Carson, pure gold.
Spontaneous humor, clever, unexpectedly fresh. Always a great laugh, thank you J.W. and RIP.
òp
ICONS>>>All of em! MAN, i USED TO LAY AWAKE TIL THE WEE HOURS WATCHING JOHNNY...MISS YOU ALL!
Yes those were the good days when comedy was real not vulgar and healthy even today....what a world back then and not a waste.
Oh how I miss those nights
213 dislikes? Who doesn't like Jonathan Winters?
People who watch Kimmels ‘n Bits, Jimmy Fallon and Colbert cheese.
People who have no appreciation for true entertainment. What pass for entertainment today is total liberal garbage!😎
How did you get the number of dislikes?
@@kevinf9822 They used to show the amount of dislikes above, next to the likes. A few years ago, Facebook stopped showing amount of dislikes.
No one is his or her right mind dislikes Jonathan Winters.
'If there are no fish there, then I don't know, probably go to Singapore for a few days.' Classic off the cuff line from Winters that will never stop making me laugh.
Real honest down to earth
One of the best!
You got to see him in the Frank Sinatra roast him and Dean Martin when Jonathan Winters does his term you will be rolling in the aisles absolutely one of the funniest things I've ever seen in my life
Absolutely outstanding show!
I loved the "More To Come" cartoons that indicated the show was back from a commercial break. As to Mr. Carson and Mr. Winters themselves a Talk Show Comedy Mount Rushmore summit meeting and then some!😂B.W.
I wish he had come over to the UK more , his humour would have gone down very well . He had the style of our great comics .
I cannot believe he’s only 48 !!!
Man, everyone looked much older back then.
70s style
Growing up during the Great Depression and World War II would likely do a lot to accelerate the aging process, no matter how good of health you may have had, otherwise. My father was born roughly six months after the Depression began, and my mother was born in what was perhaps the worst year of the Depression. Both went through a lot during their lives, and are hopefully in a far better place now, than the one that we have to live in, here in 2020.
Great to see such genuine warmth between those two and listening to what each other had to say. Unlike so many of today's hosts who have to make the whole show about themselves.
Great paintings!
Man, do I miss these guys, and entertainers of that era.
God i love this guy. he's one of the two best talk show guests ever. charles grodin is the other.
It is impossible to watch Jonathan Winters without laughing.
...or without smiling :-)))
They think I’m the most amazing people to the point and I’m always in their
I agree. I laughed non stop when I watched him. 😀❤️
@@MrMagnusFogg pppppp]
Watching in 2021. Time travel.
My UNCLE would steal a line or two from from this MAN. It was GREAT.
His facial expressions kills me and he knows how to tell a joke! LMAO!
Johnathan was my favorite.
An era gone by. RIP. It truly was a great ride.
Old school Men that is what I remember my Dad like hard worker and a good provider and since of humor 😮
I love the woman cracking up in the audience. I feel like I hear her laugh in other Jonathan Winters appearances.
They dont have comedians like Winters or Carson. I wish comedians would take notice that clean comedy is what wins the People. I miss Winters & Carson.
So enjoyable, as a kid I would sneak and watch Johnny, Jay did a good job
A sweet time in television history. Listening to JW’s stories is like a dream. Some of his paintings were just as bizarre as he could be.
Just talking about life enjoying each other
I can relate to the basement,my father right after dinner would go down to the basement and tinker.
I always enjoy, watching Jonathan Winters I think he is the best entertener
he was the best ever.RIP
Basements are also called "'fraidy holes". Tornadoes.
WOW that is awesome my son's Birthday is 11-11-91 all one's I told him to start to play the lottery
He scared me when i was young.but I cant get enough now.Johnny only laughs that much with a few.Robin Williams was another could bust him up.
A tremendous genius !!! Amen 🙏
I thought Jonathan Winters was from Mt. Ida, Arkansas? At least that was what I was told when I lived there.
I meet him in 1981 in LA area I went to pay for my gas and he was inside shooting the bs with the owner of the station so as I was paying for my gas I asked him for his autograph he was very nice man I asked him where he was from and he said were do you want me to be from ,I still have his autograph from 1981
Joe Zuerlein better put it in a frame
Back when people had class
love it thanks and my birth year
I love his humour !
Almost a half freaking century ago!!!. Yikes!!! Seems like yesterday!!!
At any rate...... Jonathan Winters is A Scorpio like me.... I love this guy his Humour is so stinging
Remember his lines as the naive moving truck driver in the movie "It's a mad mad mad world". "Everybody PAYS taxes!"
THE FUNNIEST MOVIE I EVER SAW.MY SIDES WERE HURTING WHEN I LEFT. WHAT A CAST !
To Phil Silvers: "Why You dirty doublecrosser! You cut Yourself in twice!"😂B.W.
"Isn't it a wonderful day for an attack?" hahahahahahaha!
RIP all
Great comic characters
🐠🐟🐬🐳🐋
This guy made me believe in comedy along with the rest of them but I’m just saying is that night and I love you God bless him wherever he is I know he’s in heaven begging somebo
Winters for president!
So talented and funny miss his type of humor.
Best of all time.
HE AND ROBIN W WILL BE MISSED
Robin was never funny to me. Jonathan Winters, yes.
they were friends you can tell.
I think winters was carsons favorite
He’s hilarious!
A seventeen minute interview. Fallon would give him seven minutes, tops.
Robert S. Craig Ferguson would also give him 17 minutes. Take a look at the interviews with Larry King, Don Rickles and Robin Williams. Amazing hilarious interviews!
Fallon is a Joke !! Leftist scumbag ,he would give him one minute then start his conservative bashing and race baiting
So what’s your point jerk
That's the limit of Fallon's attention span. The very outside limit.
@@bobbydale1938 that he is...
My two favorite things in a man : funny AND sweet !
he was great.
So very good
Great stuff.
The master of comedy.
