It's very much a child's mind trying to explain things.
That First Day of War, is now burned into me.
I loved when he said each piece was $25,000 dollars. At the time Salvatore Dali was drawing on napkins for waitress, and someone asked him what he wanted for the 3 lines on the napkin. Dali said, $25,000, and the admirer said go screw yourself!
So Dali ate the napkin so no one could have it.

This is the most serious I've ever seen Mr Winters. I'm glad to see this vidro, because it ahows a different side to him I've never seen, and he was quite popular at this filming. He was throughout his career of course. He is to me a deep thinking man, who had his heart broke when he was a child several times , but didnt allow it to make him a mean bitter adult man. Mr Winters to me comes across as very kind. When he had that painting of hunters, and him ssying..."look what your doing to them(animals,") it was a revelation abiut his heart really. He was in some respects too good for this world. He is the G.O.A.T

My Dad was on a flight out of LAX back in the 70's, when Jonathan Winters boarded his plane. He didn't go sit in First Class, he walked back to Econo & sat across the row from my Dad. They started talking about working in Hollywood (my Dad worked at CBS when Television was first coming out but Radio was still going strong) so they were laughing about different T.V. & Film stars they both worked with....when Jonathan went into character and he entertained all the passengers for the entire flight! When he could have sat in First Class with sunglasses on to hide his face...he joined the average traveler and had the plane in hysterics! Dad talked about that experience til the day he died. It one of many memories Dad shared with that generation of celebrities that were real and very giving.

🙋‍♀️ *SO VERY HAPPY* you posted this visit. It’s a new on me, and I’m especially digging this batch of paintings vs some of his others. What a genius basically from A-Z; so diverse.
And can you imagine what it was like being married to this man? Plus I’m loving this look he was pulling off with the well-put-together outfit and mustache. Never seen him look better IMO. A man simply can’t go wrong in a black turtleneck.
They broke the mold with you, Jonathan.

I just loved Jonathan since childhood… his talent was just so different remarkable comedy … interesting I never knew he’d been an artist… it makes sense cuz he’d paint pictures with his words too … that’s what stood out to me about Jonathan… I could easily picture the story in great detail.. rarely relied on timing which for most comics is essential.. anyways thanks for uploading.

75-80 on the highway, and he was hammered…and the trooper writes him a ticket. Then again, he is a storyteller…one of the best, most relaxed and entertaining I have ever heard. Then again, again…I’m only 59.

I was laughing so hard I woke my wife up. she started laughing right along when she realized what she was seeing which Honestly has been a really good source of happiness for me ever since I lost my wife so many years ago which infact broke me to pieces so seeing comments like this makes me smile.

Loved Johnny Carson and the "Tonight Show" and now in watching many of these memorable moments on RUclips I keep hearing a female with a prominent loud laugh but not just in this clip -- but MANY. Does this mean there was a "professional" laugher or was she a staff member? (Wonder if anyone else has noticed this?)

To see a gathering of comedic talent in one movie might I suggest watching “It's a Mad Mad Mad World” they're so many talented comedians in this one movie but today's grown-ups may not recognize their names but they can certainly appreciate their talent.
The subtle way Jimmy Durante lets everyone knows he's died is one for the books an that's just the start of the comedy roller coaster.

I can't believe I'm a decade older now than those two then. I grew up watching that generation on TV.
It's also interesting to compare this interview to what you see on late night shows these days. Winters comes out and they actually have a conversation, some of it entertaining, some of it not that much. These days, the host would have one or two points that he's supposed to hit and the guest is prepared to talk about, then they'd go over the guest's newest project, and that would be it.

@@jamesedwards2237 In my humble opinion Craig Ferguson was 2nd best, my O’l lady and I started watching him from 2006 or so all the way until he decided to end his tenure, something that perhaps was best thing to do for him since all those feminists “offended” groups started complaining that he was a creep, I’m certain he sensed all of the above, In reality he’s humor was unique, timing unique, he was best at getting those pretty actresses to open up talk to him and flirt, he was a master class.
My wife prefers Craig over Johnny and I totally understand, he is a charming talented man.

@MonsieurA.D IMHO, your wife is right. And Craig was awesome at saying a few words to get his guests engaged, and then sitting back and just let them go. Genius. His show with his sister proves that the sense of humor runs in the family.
