I heard this song for the first time today - touched me deeply with it's warm melancholy, calm delivery: I am a nurse in a senior citizen residence. Today was another unusually hot day, hard work. Near the end of late shift, I had a chance to take a quick shower before the shift-change meeting with the night shift. This always takes place in the "protected" (read: closed, locked) section for the most demented geronto-psychiatric care customers. Radio was on in the dining room, where I went to fill my water bottle - and this song played, I noticed how it soothed the three tenants who were present - burdened people most of the time, they just enjoyed the moment, and so did I. Will include it in my own songbook (I play acoustic guitar and sing)!
it is a shame that out of all his songs the one that is by far NOT his best offering (Lady in Red) is the most popular.... if you want to hear the REAL chris De Burgh.. start from his earliest album and listen to them all :)..

Chris is a humanitarian .I don't know him ,but I would love to.He seems to have more Grace,empathy,and an understanding of humankind than any other songwriter I have ever listened to.We played his song " country churchyard" at our wedding almost 31 years ago.
