The only friggin’ band I know that actually sounds better in a live performance. This is jawbreaker but I love the live shows on record from Judas Priest, as they sound better then the studio versions! HALFORD is the true king of heavy metal!

wow shit man grew up on this as a kid in the 80's , i sold popcorn and stuff at the old Salt Palace in Salt Lake new all the staff and guards so they would let me into all shows for free and put me right up at stage fell like I am 11 years old again XD love you guys ..
I still have this album on cassette, along with Turbo, Pain Killer, Hell Bent for Leather and Screaming for Vengeance I think. Have to look at my tape collection, have an independent music store who's interested in it cause it's all metal.
I think the label missed a golden opportunity with this album: "Jawbreaker" and "Rock Hard, Ride Free" should have been the singles/videos for this album, and not "Freewheel Burning" and "Love Bites". This may have put Judas Priest into the same MTV rotation as Twisted Sister at the time (and the fame along with it), but it would have been so worth it. This album deserved better attention in 1984.

What a solo, what a riff, what a song, what an album, what a band! Priest were totally reckless in the 70s and 80s. Each album is always an evolution, refinement and improvement, until Painkiller, that represents the pinnacle of the concept of heavy metal music in its purest form. They practically decided when that era began and when it ended.
I have always wondered where the lyrics in this epic song came from ... "Deadly as the viper, peering from its coil" and so on... Until...until I read Rob's autobiography. Then it made clear sense and justified its excellence!
