.
I love that this makes you happy I can hear it in your voice
Your videos are my absolute favourite, they relax me and at the same time, all you have to say is really interesting, please keep it up.
+Matt Pedro Will do, brother. Peace :)
Really liked the pause for the rain, a nice little touch.
Hey chycho, I can really tell you have an amazing energy and are full of life and love. You could go anywhere in the world and people would be able to sense it. I love meeting people like yourself!
Thanks, Ryan. Life is sweet if you have the right perspective, that's for sure.
Really awesome that you have done another one of these. Really enjoyed it. Thanks.
You just look so happy! Which makes me happy!
Just picked up The Demon #12 from my local Half Price Books for very cheap! I am in love with the art style and character designs. Thank you for the recommendation!
I love your comic book ASMR videos. They are just amazing, the way you discuss them and the fact you are so into the medium. And of course, that incredible ASMR voice you have.
:)
Awesome channel and great videos Chycho, keep up the good work!!
Chris Smith Thanks, Chris, and will do :)
I wish I had your type of energy. I suffer from mental illnesses like depression that makes me not exactly personable. :< Which is why ASMR is very helpful.
kxmode Just remember, it too a lot of hard knocks for me to reach this state. If you want to know what some of those where, do a search for:
"Some advice to those who have lost loved ones" +chycho
Hope it helps :)
Love the videos!!! Keep them up
Thanks chycho, this will be a real treat. I discovered your channel by sheer luck and thank God I did. I really admire the passion, the respect and the precision that you have for the comic world. You're an inspiration.
Do you also read European comics?
Yay a new chycho video :D
damn i love your comic vids and i thought you might have stopped making them. glad to see you did not :)
I am fascinated by the artwork and would like to start a collection of my own. The only thing that makes me hesitant is where should i start. Should i try to purchase full sets or start from no 1? As i don't want to buy comics half way through a story as i won't understand whats going on ha!
BoomBamBoom Superhero serials are, for the most part, endless, but most comics stories have a beginning, middle and end. These days, almost everything ends up collected. Maybe find something that interests you, and buy a trade of of a mini-series or short series? If you can, don't let the fear of "doing it wrong" keep you from checking them out.
Your voice is very relaxing to listen to. You got a sub and like from me :)
flippy355 Thank you, and welcome to my channel :)
For a second I thought Frank Darabont started doing ASMR vids
Wasn't the Tick on that mid 2000's nickelodeon show Kappa Mikey?
Eric Carr First time I heard about Kappa Mikey. Was it a good show?
Actually, after some research I was thinking about the original Tick TV show in the 90’s.
But as on Kappa Mikey, I haven’t seen it in years. I remember it was basically an American anime, but it made fun of Japanese anime. It definitely had more western themes to it.
Hey Chycho, what equipment do you use to record your videos? I am thinking of starting my own channel. I have stuff on RUclips related to my post-earthquake aid work in Nepal, but would like to start a channel doing something similar to you. It seems like a really cool hobby, your channel is pretty damn interesting, sir!
Great idea Stuart. As far as I see it the more people share the better the world becomes. As for what I use to record my videos, I'm really low budget. I have an older HD-camcorder that you could probably get for two to three hundred dollars right now and I record the sound on a really cheap lapel mic that I bought on ebay for like $12-$15 including shipping. I figure I try and produce the best quality I can with the least, motivates me to produce videos that are interesting and informative.
Cool, thanks... I might resort to using my Apple video for the time being. Yesterday got reckless and bought a ton of comics from Amazon China:
Daredevil Omnibus Companion
Watchmen
Superman Red Son
The Complete Maus
Batman Black Mirror
Kingdom Come
Joe Sacco's Palestine
Joe Sacco's Safe Area Gorazde
Ghost World
Persepolis
Punisher - Born
Sin City 1 & 2
Guy Delisle's Pyongyang
That's it for a while I think as I need to save for a teaching course I'm doing and also got aid trips coming up to Nepal at Xmas and New Year. Pretty happy though, gonna be a lot of reading, especially seeing as I now have both the Daredevil Omnibus and Companion.. absolute masterpieces!
That's some serious reading, great buys :)
Yeah, thanks mate. A few of these are getting sent home to UK, so will pick these up in the summer when I go home. Not sure if you have read Pyongyang? It's a really nice account of a guy who travelled to North Korea (I believe with my friend's travel company), and covers many of the oddities a lot of foreigners experience when they visit. Having visited many times, it's something I can identify with. Definitely worth a look.
Thanks for the recommendation, if the opportunity comes up, I'll check it out.
Hey Chycho, I was curious if you've read Seaguy by Grant Morrison. I'd love to see you do a read of the 1st series.
mblehar No I didn't know about Seaguy, I'll put it on my to buy list. I love Morrison. I hopped onto his work during Doom Patrol and Animal Man in the late 80's and have read much of his work.
I actually wrote a little blog post about Doom Patrol I loved it so much. You should find it if you do a search for "The Beauty and Brilliance of Grant Morrison’s 'Doom Patrol', Introducing Mr. Nobody: a Savior, a Monster, an Act of Sacrilege, Dada" :)
chycho.blogspot.ca/2013/10/the-beauty-and-brilliance-of-grant.html
I'll try and get my hands on Seaguy and maybe get a reading in with the next set of Reading Comics vids. Thanks for the recommendation by the way :)
Seaguy really lets Grant Morrison go nuts and get waaaaaay out there. The art is fantastic as well, though I can't recall who the artist was. Hope you enjoy, looking fwd to future vids! Thanks for all the work you do!
Hey chycho, could you make some math videos on 'proving trigonometric identites'? I have an exam coming up with them and it would be great if I could hear about them from you :)
Berkan Yuksel Sure, Berkan, the question is when. I plan on finishing the Trig videos with proving trig identities. When is your exam? I sort of overdid the comic book readings and probably won't get to the trig identities mid June at this rate. If your exam is earlier I may try and push them up... possibly, since I still need to do a couple of other videos before the identities can kick in smoothly. So how much of a rush are you for these?
chycho Hmm it would be late. Don't worry, just keep your videos running smoothly, I'm alright with them, I just have some trouble with the very difficult questions. Thanks anyway :) Looking forward to the videos :)
Berkan Yuksel Okay, will do. Sorry about that. The difficult ones will actually be the last ones I do in the series since I do need to do some build up for them. Hopefully they will come in handy after the fact.
Peace :)
all good, peace
You sir are 115% geek.As to comics this is the most recent comic I read. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aldebaran_(comics)
micosair Why, thank you :)
As for what you're reading, it sounds amazing! Last year I read "Le Transperceneige" (Snowpiercer) after watching the movie. It was fantastic. I'll be adding Aldebaran to my 'to get list'. Thanks for the recommendation.
Just to make people crap their pants, you should abruptly edit in warren ellis ranting loudly at the end of one of your videos.
Robert Chu lol... or Grant Morrison... his Disinfo speech is priceless :)
Haha yes - you should totally use the sustained screech/scream he does at the beginning :D
Robert Chu lol... omg! You are a true comic fan... someone else who's had his scream etched in their mind forever. It was a great speech though...well, a drunken rant really but a brilliant one at that :)
Also, any recommendations? I only like comics, none of that manga stuff. I liked Watchmen, and I would like something more adult themed, with blood, cursing, violence. I prefer a DC character or other universes.
Transmetropolitan by Warren Ellis and Darick Robertson, and of course, Hellblazer. Enjoy :)
Are you Armenian by chance?
Sam Mirzadeh barev :)
Haha I could tell, you look like the lead singer of the band System of a Down who is Armenian as well :) I'm Persian myself.
Sam Mirzadeh haha... yup, Serj. System is awesome, I've seen them a couple of times. We're actually brothers as well, Persian-Armenian here :)
Cool nice talking to you Cycho! :)
Sam Mirzadeh Peace, brother :)
Excuse me sir, but why are you whispering? It is so annoying and I want to hear you. Are you afraid of waking up the wife?
Just keeping it chill, and ASMR.
