I have a 2022 Tiffin RW. I love it... I am a 78 yr. old widow. My husband and I had several Class C's and a Class A since the mid 70's. I missed having one so bought my RV several years after he had passed away. You will realize the quality of the Tiffin. Have had very few minor issues with mine. Things have changed in the RV world in the quality, they all have issues, but Tiffin is a quality product. BTW, mine is the same color as yours and just love it... Hope you have many great memories in your Wayfarer and safe travels.
Thank you so much for posting your heartwarming story. We are so sorry for your loss, but we are glad you are still enjoying your RV life. We love our Tiffin so far, especially the color. We wish you happy travels!
Rose's excitement was infectious and palpable. I loved her enthusiasm, and I am happy for both of you. I wish you many more safe, happy, fun-filled adventures in your beautiful Wayfarer. 🙏🏾❤️👍🏾
Congrats guys 🎉! Add to your check list lol, the very first thing upon backing up into a site, (i pre measured my sewer hose extended to the max), now when i back up i whip out the measuring tape from glove box, n do a quick measure to make sure i don't have to drag out the extension! Next add to your list quick connects for water hose. I have quick connects on external water filter, water regulator, water splitter (aka Y adapters) n hose (G hose! Light weight easy to drain when disconnecting!). I screw in water splitter directly to shore post (use a brass one) if threads go, it's easy to replace. I use a water hose saver n screw it directly to camper the rest is all quick connected together. Takes 30 seconds to hook up water lol! I love your humour n mistakes your so 'real' 👍🏼. 🍻
@SpykersB we can always count on you to make some really great observations and comments. We will definitely do a more in-depth set-up video in the future as we better learn the Wayfarer's operating systems. That's a great idea for the water quick connects. We are going to try to make that work for us. Dan says he doesn't ever make "mistakes," it just takes him twice as long to do some things because he is half fast. Thanks, as always for the post.
Congratulations on your purchase. We just purchased the Tiffin Wayfarer 2024 RLW in March it's really loving it so far. We have about 4,000 mi on it. Had one problem with the Mercedes engine light coming on telling us the fuel filter need to be cleaned. Took it to a Mercedes dealer and a wire had burned out shorting out the warning system causing the light to stay on all the time. Tiffin took care of it for us. I'm glad the Wayfarer comes with a macerator toilet so we don't have to worry about using tank treatments. One thing I found helpful is to go to the options on the dash where you can have the DEF level indicator at the bottom of the screen all the time. So far we've used 5 gallons of DEF.
We are glad you're liking your Wayfarer. It seems that there is always at least one thing that goes wrong with a new RV right off the lot. We were a little surprised your issue was a Mercedes problem and not a Tiffin problem. We have had great success with our Mercedes in the past. Maybe we have been lucky. We too found the setting for the DEF to be helpful as you did. We have learned that it is usually far less expensive to fill our DEF at the pump at truck stops rather than purchasing the box even at Wal Mart. Thanks for sharing your experience.
@@halffasttravelers2702 actually it was a Tiffin problem according to Mercedes. Tiffin placed a wire in the wrong place and it wore the wires insulation off causing the Mercedes computer to display a false clean fuel filter message. Tiffin did reimburse us for cost though. The only other problem we had was water was leaking in behind the shower wall inside an interior floor on our first trip out. The dealer had to order a whole new shower faucet and shower miser.
You mentioned the black dash and seats. I live in southern New Mexico. The sun here is brutal! I put polarized tint on my truck windows, esp the windshield. Makes a HUGE difference in amount of heat that comes in. I can leave a tube of lip balm in my truck and it won’t melt. Something to investigate if you’re worried about the black surfaces. Enjoy your new RV. ❤
Now that’s an interesting idea, but FL doesn’t allow tinted windshields. We have already purchased tan seat covers and we are liking them so far. Thanks for posting this information.
@@halffasttravelers2702 I'm in FL and looking into this for our C. I think you can do the film that's not tinted on the windshield, but it blocks UV. Need to find out the cost
We love our RW by far the best for us. So much space the best entertainment and layout even after two years comparing to RV shows still the best in every category. Truly with all the room and specs top class. Pros: biggest bathroom (class A size toilet & shower) leveling jacks, full slide creates so much room two separate TV areas Murphy bed room and theater room recliners ! A real plus when the Misses needs to get to bed while I recline late at night 😊Understand it well treat it good and you will be rewarded with the best experience ever! Recommend replacing the t-stat with ‘Easy Touch’ install ‘Tire Minder’ TPM or other brand
First time ever that I really enjoyed the entire presentation of your RV. We also went from a B to a small C like yours. We love the space. Enjoy in good health.
@@halffasttravelers2702 we had a lot of bumps with ours. Generator that didn’t work, steps that stopped working, Murphy bed that broke while camping, multiple visits to the RV dealership (Miami to Dover). Luckily we found a good RV mechanic that came to our house. So that was about a 6 month headache, but now (🙏🙏) now everything is ok. I hope to meet you all soon. Keep making your videos enjoyable. Don’t get stuffy and boring like some other videos.
Thanks for sharing this information. It provides more evidence to the claim that almost every new RV is going to come with some quality & reliability concerns. Many of our viewers have commented that they would rather buy a year-old RV than a new one, and we are beginning to see the wisdom in that. We'll try to keep the "stuffy" out of our videos.
Great video, genuine and fun to watch. It popped up on RUclips probably because we have the 2024 RLW, 6cyl turbo. Enjoy it, we had some “goofy” issues but Tiffin and LazyDays made things right. It’s a beautiful coach and awesome ride, have fun with it and keep those smiles. I subscribed!
Awesome! Thank you! We're glad you like your unit and were able to work through the issues. We've had a few of our own, as you will see in upcoming videos. Thanks for subscribing.
@@SilverBullet9999 we also bought our Tiffin Wayfarer 2024 RLW from Lazy Days. They've been great helping us with no high pressure sales people. We had a few problems right away. The water from the shower was leaking in between the walls dripping down on the floor behind the drawers. The city water connection where the hose connects leaks . The strap that holds the Murphy bed up broke off and they're still trying to get the part for it. But other than that everything works great and we've been very happy with it.
We are glad you had a good sales experience. Sales people get a bad rap, but there are so many good ones out there. Sorry to hear about your issues, we will keep an eye out in those areas to ensure we don't have the same problems. Thanks for sharing your experience.
A heads-up regarding the in-line water filter: I run water through it BEFORE hooking it to the motorhome because there is always some "charcoal debris" that needs to get out of the filter; better to put that in the grass than in your water lines.
Yes, thanks for pointing out this important step with a new water filter. Dan should have discussed this and the fact that he was using a filter that we had already been using in our previous RV. Excellent post!
Congrats guys! One thing I would recommend is to axe the music during setup. I’d say most people prefer the ASMR associated with just watching and listening to you speak or work. Congrats again!
Two of the happiest RV'ers I've come across in a long time. Loved your video. Congratulations, best of luck with the Wayfarer and happy camping. You just got a new sub.
Thanks so much! It does seem like some folks are a little jaded and disappointed with the current state of the RV industry. We try to remember why we started RVing in the first place; the joy of exploration and freedom that RVing brings. Thanks for your comment.
@@halffasttravelers2702 I know right? I mean just the name of your channel cracks me up. I was even telling my husband about it. Really clever and funny which makes me think, so are the two of you. Don't get me wrong, the RV manufacturing process is in dire need of improvement, but that's a separate story. Have SO much fun and I hope to see you on the road sometime. I'll mix the cocktails. 😉
Now that's a great idea for increasing the storage in the Wayfarer. Unfortunately, we could never live without our bedroom TV. Maybe if the front TV was a little larger. It's good to hear you haven't felt the need to make any other changes. Hopefully we will have as much success with the Wayfarer as you have. Thanks for the post.
Excellent video I purchased a 2022 Thor Gemini 23TW 2.5 years ago and I remember my first setup it took me over an hour to get setup. Now it takes me less than 5 minutes and I just recently added leveling jacks to my RV and that was a game changer. Not sure why they didn’t come with leveling jacks to start off with but now I have them. I also just purchased quick connects for my water hose. I haven’t added the quick connects to the water hose and other water accessories yet, so hope to take care of that this weekend.
Thanks for providing this information, we are getting better at the whole process as well. We loved the Gemini, and it made our "top 4" list at the RV Supershow. We are glad you are enjoying it. Let us know how you like the quick-connects. We are thinking of adding those as well. Thanks again.
I personally find connecting the water filter at the source spigot is easier and won’t strain the inlet in the coach with the angle, regardless the extension you have there… A 90 degree elbow with a shut off valve is a bonus at the inlet too, regardless the filter placement. Both circumstances will provide easier closing of the door, further reducing the strain on the inlet.
We got in the habit of doing this with our Patriot Class B. The door had to stay open either way so we preferred to keep the long hose out of the "clean side" of the hook-up. We haven't had an issue with the door on the Wayfarer, but we will probably take your suggestion and get a 90 degree elbow for the coach side. Thanks.
It is a bit of work, but remember, that was our first go at the set up for the new RV. We have gotten much better now that we have a "system" in place. It's all part of the experience. Cheers!
Thank you!!! Dan has been telling Rose to do this for years. She can be very stubborn sometimes. Thanks for caring, and maybe this post will help her see the light.
congratulations guys. Love your new RV. New to your channel and subbed. Moved to Florida last Aug and vlogging every day :) Can't wait to follow your adventures.
So happy for you. Congratulations on a great choice. We own a 2023 Vienna and were back and forth between the Wayfarer and the Renegade. It was so close and at the end of the day, it came down to pricing and 2 years ago the Vienna was priced better. Both you can't go wrong with either rig. Happy wife, happy life....
Yes, we loved the Renegades as well, and for us it came down to cargo capacity. This is the same reason we would not have bought the 2023 Wayfarer. The increase in cargo helped our decision. Rose agrees with you: Happy Wife, Happy Life!
Congratulations and good video. The only criticism is the music. It was extremely distracting. Your commentary is interesting enough without the need for the background noise.
We have had mixed reactions on that. We had some long discussions and demonstrations in this video, and we were trying to keep the flow moving along. We will be using the music only sparingly i the future. Thanks for the constructive criticism.
This small C offers the best experience IMO glad I didn’t wait two years for something smaller, would not have worked out. Still after all the RV shows it is still by far the best choice for us. Looking for many years of leak proof exterior, and no issues with dried up vinyl graphics.
I’m sure that you have solved the problem with the seats getting hot with the summer sun and high temps. I’m in Arizona I have the same issue with cars I’ve owned. I just bought a Mazda CX90 with black leather seats. After a couple hours sitting in the driveway the seats were so hot that had I been wearing shorts I would have burned my legs. I bought a pair of grey sheepskin seat covers from Amazon, problem solved. The seats are not hot but comfortable no matter how long they have been in the sun.
We seriously came very close to purchasing a new Coachman beyond class b. But being very tall I was very uncomfortable in the drivers seat So glad that we found the 2024 Tiffin Wayfarer. The Mercedes seats are very comfortable with plenty of legroom for 6 footers.
Love all the bells and whistles....I wish you well with a Mercedes.... dealing with their shops on your journeys Was my major concern...I ended up with a Chevy Duramax and have enjoyed the ease of finding places to work with when needed. Happy trails Y'all....Looking forward to following along.
Congrats on your new rig. We also purchased a new class b Leasure travel van Unity CB. The new engine is a 2 stage turbo not a twin turbo 😊. Safe travels 👍
Thanks for the info! We weren't aware of the turbo setup, we just knew it was a double, and we assumed twin. We hope you enjoy your Unity, Leisure makes a high quality product.
Great set up. We just got a white 2 door rubicon to tow behind our Vienna One of the things i didn’t like about the wayfarer is the sewer right next to the water. Yeah we had to bring 80,000.00 cash to get out of our holiday rambler vacationer but saying that we love being back in a class C Mercedes 😊way better drive.
Thanks for sharing! We are coming to absolutely love our Rubicon. Every time we get ducked, it brings a smile to our faces. We totally agree on the sewer issue and the fabulous Mercedes handling and performance.
Thanks for a wonderful enlightening video. My husband and I are thinking about downsizing from our Tiffin Phaeton and I have been considering the Wayfarer and other comparable RVs. What really sold you on the Wayfarer besides the floor plan? Why did you choose to sell your American Patriot van? How long are your RV trips typically? My husband doesn’t think we could manage 1-2 month trips in something so small. I’m interested in your perspective. Do you plan on utilizing the cab over bunk for a guest or storage? We usually take a grandkid or two every year for a week. I am most appreciative of any information you can share. Thanks so much and I hope you enjoy your beautiful new RV and Jeep. Safe travels!
Thanks for the compliment. We'll try to answer all your questions, but if you check out our previous video and our "Hunt for the Perfect RV" video we go over the reasons why we chose the Wayfarer. It was mostly due to the floor plan and the need for more space than our class B. We take several short trips throughout the year, but we do take longer "road trips" which last between six and eight weeks. So far, we have found the Wayfarer to have plenty of space for us on the long trips, but only time will tell. We use the overhead bunk for storage, but will use it if our daughter and granddaughter travel with us. On that trip we will have to come up with a creative storage system. However, we still haven't filled all the space under the couch. We urge you to check out those other videos and comment with as many questions as you can come up with. Thanks for your post.
Yes, the 2D Rubicon is listed as 4,200lbs. This is right at our limit for towing, so we carry very little in the toad, and just the bare minimums in the RV. This keeps our GCWR within the limits. We always recommend that you take the setup to the scales and get the exact weight just to be sure.
Great Rig! Have a 2008 Itasca Navion 24J --bought new and happy with the MB sprinter. I ordered it with shades trim fit with side and windshield windows enclosed in the window frame. I'm amazed that Tiffin doesn't include this de facto...2008 vs 2024... You would think such a nice rig would feature "now basic" requirements. Thx for sharing and happy trails!
Thanks for sharing that information. We guess they don't make them like they used to. We are happy with our after-market shades, but we are still looking for a shade for the side door. Glad you are enjoying your Navion.
Congrats on your Wayfarer! I'm curious to hear how your flat towing goes. We have a Wayfarer, just getting started in the RV life. We have discussed getting a tow vehicle, but wonder what it does to fuel mileage and going up and down hills. The tiny wheels on the Wayfarer don't leave a lot of room for brake pads. Looking forward to seeing your future video on flat towing the Rubicon.
We have not had any issues yet, and we have been on some very steep hills in the past few weeks as you will see in our upcoming videos. We're getting about 13 MPG towing the Jeep even with the hills. Just a word of caution, the added weight makes the transmission braking in low gears virtually meaningless. We go very slowly downhill as a precaution. We like your recommendation about doing a flat tow vehicle, and we will get right on that. Thanks.
You look so happy. Congrats. However, how did you end up with an absorption refrigerator? Would have gotten a compression or a residential. Second, I never "hook up" to "city water." I fill the tank as I need water and put the hose away until next time. That way, I eliminate city water pushing a leak in the RV and maybe I'm not there... At least turn it off when leaving the RV. That wet bay looks awkward with all those angles required for hoses. I never leave the sewer hooked up either. When a dump is needed, I bring out the hose. All this makes for a fast getaway if needed. All I have to pull is the electric hookup. This routine came in handy as a monsoon approached the campground in Arizona one morning. I was out of there and up onto the higher-ground freeway within five minutes. Also, if an RV next to you goes up in flames (it happened to us twice so far), you must move away fast since campground parking is almost always too close to other RVs. Oh, almost forgot--Our absorption refrigerator set the coach on fire.
We were told when we bought the Wayfarer that we had a "two-way refrigerator" that could run off propane and electric, but we later found out that was not the case. We actually have a Norcold 12V compressor refrigerator. It's interesting that you don't use the city water, and we do that if we are only in transit for one night. Otherwise, we find it more convenient considering our water use to do the full hook-up. OMG, that is terrible about the fires and the storm. What experiences those must have been. We are glad you are OK, and still enjoying the RV life. Thanks for sharing your stories.
@@halffasttravelers2702 Hi again. If there are fins in the refrigerator, that is an absorption refrigerator. Your outside vent behind the refrigerator is the type used for an absorption refrigerator. I do use city water, I just don't leave it hooked up. If not left hooked up, you can run the hoses (even sewer) straight in and then unhook and put down when finished. The fittings inside your particularly tight wet bay will be subjected to tight bends and will fail if subjected to that stress for long periods. Just wanted you to know. Knowledge usually is good...
We believe the Wayfarer had an absorption refrigerator prior to this model year and that may be why the vent looks the way it does. Our fridge is a Norcold model N8DCSSR compressor refrigerator. We hear you on the fittings issue and we intend to add a 90 degree fitting to see if that works for us. If not, we’ll move the filter to the land side and grab a new hose. We do appreciate all the tips and info. Thank you.
@@halffasttravelers2702the OCCC being relatively low for these class C RVs, did you find that other floor plans offered more or less capacity? I am wondering about the twin bed option, if you considered that?
That's a great question. We have started adding the OCCC to all our RV reviews because the information is virtually impossible to find online. We can't remember if there was a difference between the Twin-Bed and other configurations, but we suspect there is. We don't have the numbers in front of us as we are on the road, but the info might be found in one of our videos. If we can find one that has both listed, we'll post the information. Thanks for your reply.
Congrats ! I’m interested in your thoughts on the power and fuel economy while towing. I have a lot of hills in my area and plan to tow, wondering how the 4cyl does. Thanks
We definitely know the Jeep is back there, especially on the hills. We have been on some very steep mountain roads over the past few weeks, and we haven't had any issues or concerns. One word of caution, the transmission braking doesn't do much. Whether or not it was due to the 4 cylinder or the extra weight of the toad remains to be seen.
We got them on Amazon. They are made by Pigenius. We have discovered that the suction cups are subject to melting if you store them in a hot place for too long, but they still work, just not as well as they did when new. Fortunately, the suction cups are very cheap to replace.
Now that we have the Toad, we don't know what we ever did without it. The towing process has gone smoothly, and the hook/unhook process isn't all that inconvenient. We haven't had any problems pulling, but we definitely know it's there. As far as the Jeep goes, Dan wasn't really a big Jeep fan. He has since been converted. We love it!
We set a minimum limit on the OCCC for any unit we would consider buying at 1000 lbs. Our new Wayfarer has an OCCC of 1040 lbs. Do we wish it was higher? Yes, but we are good with that number for the amount of stuff we travel with.
@@halffasttravelers2702 Thank you! I have been looking at these and that number was a concern. I have a Grand Cherokee as well and want to tow. its curb weight is 4200, and I see u guys have the 2d wrangler right at 4200. So I am interested in how that works for you. Great video and thanks for your hard work!!!
We haven't had any problem towing the Jeep, but we definitely know it is there especially on hills. It does put a crimp in our MPG. We hope you find the right RV for you and your needs. Good luck.
It seems to be pretty standard to have them in the same compartment, but I think it would make us feel better if the sewer outlet was pointed in the opposite direction. Great observation.
Congratulations! I’m new to your channel & I thoroughly enjoyed watching. I can’t wait to hear your feedback on the Murphy bed . I would love to purchase a TIFFIN one day and the WAYFARER seems perfect for me because I would be a solo traveler. But I wasn’t sure how I would feel having to pull my bed up and down daily. Also, you mentioned driving 65-70 mph and not feeling completely stable due to non aerodynamic. Do you have a remedy for that? Thanks and again I really appreciate your video!
We love the Murphy bed. The set-up and tear-down is a breeze. We do have one complaint, and that is the bed length. It seems our feet hang over the edge even after we move as far up as we can. It's really not that big a deal. It just takes some getting used to. Depending upon your height this may or may not be an issue for you. As far as the speed goes, any Class C is going to suffer handling effects on windy days or at higher speeds. This is something most drivers adapt to, and we have not felt unsafe at any time driving at highway speeds since shooting that "first impressions" video. Thanks for subscribing.
@@halffasttravelers2702 we have a 25t 2016 Winnebago View with only 23K miles. The squirrelly driving is the worst part of our trips. It seems to have gotten worse with the new tires we put on after the original ones wore out (mostly the rubber cracked from heat as opposed to tread wear). The tires were $1800 for set of 6 so not ready to put another set on due to cost, but that may be better than buying another RV because of the road handling causing us to not want long trips.
So sorry to hear about the handling issues, and we agree that the tires may be the cause of it all. Proper tire inflation is always extremely important, but tire type is also. Just curious if you have taken the RV to the scales to check the axle weights. If you're over your GVWR or GAWR, that could be the culprit as well. We hope you are able to get it all figured out. Thanks for posting your experience.
We hope so too. We are always apprehensive about purchasing a vehicle with a "new" motor. You never know what you're going to get. Fingers crossed. Thanks for posting.
even though you have experience with other RVs...but did you have an independent rv inspector go thorugh the Tiffen rv before driving off the dealers lot ?
Unfortunately, we were in a time crunch with the start of our trip, so we skipped this important step. We are counting on the fact that we bought it new with a full warranty to protect us. If we had bought a used unit, we would never have skipped the inspection. Thanks for reminding our viewers about the inspections.
Hi I just saw this video after watching the one where you first saw it at the show. Congrats on getting it. It’s beautiful! I’m researching smaller RVs and hoping to avoid towing. Do you think it’s possible to get around in the Tiffin without a toad. I know you got the jeep, so probably means you need a toad. I’m asking in case you did that as preference versus a must have. Thanks.
Thank you so much!! When we had our van we didn't have a toad, because we figured we could just pick up and go whenever we wanted to. We ended up not ever leaving the RV park, because it was a hassle to uproot everything whenever we wanted to drive to the store or explore. Unless you are going to be staying places that offer Uber or are very close to stores and other amenities, you should probably do a toad. We can't imagine doing the trip we are on now without one. The good news is, we have found towing the very small Jeep very easy as compared to hauling around a large trailer. The Jeep tracks behind the RV very well. We had not ever towed a vehicle behind an RV before, and we can honestly say, we wish we would have had a toad on last year's trip, even in the Class B. We hope this helps.
@@halffasttravelers2702 i think your slide is a schwintek? If not ignore this lol but if so whoever is in charge of putting out n bring in the slide, drill into your head do not stop the motors half way at any point going in n out. Always hold button down till fully in or fully out. If u don't u risk the chance of one motor lagging n then going off sync making one side not fully extending or retracting. I had 3 of those slides in one rv once, frankly it is not a great slide mechanism especially for a heavy big slide as yours. 🍻
Thanks for the information. We will definitely remember this helpful tip. We have been concerned about slides after seeing so many folks having issues with them. We hope we will not be numbered among those "victims."
We've been getting between 12 and 13 mpg, and we're averaging about 65 mph on the highway. We are also pulling a 4,200 lb. jeep behind us. It seems like the 4 cylinder is more fuel efficient, but it's tough to get a good comparison.
@@halffasttravelers2702 we have the Tiffin Wayfarer RLW motorhome and same engine but without pulling anything behind us. On interstate speeds of 65 miles per hour we're getting an average of 16 miles per gallon
Wow, that's more than we got with our Class B Van with the 6 cylinder diesel motor. Thanks for showing us how much difference the Jeep makes to our MPG. We appreciate it.
We thought about the elbow, but are not sure it would work lengthwise with the lower opening. We may add one if it will fit. Thanks for the suggestion.
We've heard that as well, but we also heard that Thor has allowed Tiffin to retain at least some of its autonomy. We are hoping the latter is true. Fingers crossed.
How was the buying experience with LaMesa, given your you tube channel, which may influence preferential treatment, what surprises were thrown your way,by that I mean, bait and switch added fees extended warranty sales pitch etc etc. I have met Bob,seems legit nice guy,but I don’t want my dream purchase shattered by surprises. Enjoy you coach.
We can only speak for ourselves, but we have had overall good experiences with La Mesa even before we started our channel. We don’t feel like we were given special treatment although they might have been on their best behavior knowing we recording everything. If you are preparing to make a purchase there we would love to hear about your experience. Knowledge is power. Thanks.
@@halffasttravelers2702 thanks,I will follow up as the process progresses.Bob has been most helpful to this point, just waiting to sell my condo then it’s on to traveling at my leisure. Be safe out there
Haha. We are hanging over about 5 inches, and you would think it wouldn't be an issue. Luckily, we already have plans to store the RV off-site so we'll be OK either way. Thanks for the post.
Lowest OCCC of all!!. I thought you guys did a video about cargo capacity weight?. We love the Wayfarer but l lost the love when I found out I could only bring 650# worth of life.
Our Wayfarer has over 1000 lbs of cargo capacity. The newer models are much improved. We believe the new 4 cylinder Mercedes engine to be the reason. Lighter engine with improved hp and torque. We would never have considered the older models with the lower CCC. Thanks for helping us keep everyone aware of the cargo capacity issues. If enough people complain they might have to start advertising the numbers on their web sites. We aren’t holding our breath though.
@@halffasttravelers2702 This is why I subscribed to your channel... honest and responsive. I can live with 1000 # 's . Seems allot of the newest Sprinters are moving up in OCCC. Now I just have to wait (AGAIN) for the price to come down. Totally agree and wish there was some central source for OCCC #'s by brand and year. Many thanks!
We have a 2024 Wayfarer RLW it has an OCCC of 1120. It’s just the two of us and it’s fine. We sold our Mercedes Class B, had a 6cyl turbo and we hunted down this Wayfater as we wanted the same motor before the euro 4cyl twin turbos took over. Hey to each his own :). We also don’t like slides, RLW no slides :), this fit the build perfectly. There’s no perfect floor plan, choose what suits your individual needs and have fun with it.
It seems like the deletion of the slide more than makes up for the heavier engine. We really liked the 6 cyl. but so far we are happy with the 4 cyl. performance. We'll let you know about the reliability in time. Thanks for the reply.
Our 2024 Tiffin Wayfair RLW with the Mercedes 4 cylinder has 1200 capacity but we do not have the slide out. That's great that you got a thousand pounds cargo capacity with a slide out The previous models were around 600
We were on the fence about the slide out, but we traded the extra weight and mechanical systems for more space. Hopefully, we won't regret it. Thanks for the comment.
Hate to spoil your excitement but I owned a tiffin wayfarer and after one trip decided to sell it. Tiffin wayfarer has a major flaw, it is over weight with hardly any useful load. It also in any wind it is not stable and to the point the vehicle safety feature will activate. It is also noisy while driving, it needs more insulation in the cockpit. Towing a vehicle is terrible, the tow vehicle will pull you around.
We definitely would not have bought any of the previous model years due to the low OCCC. However, now that the cargo capacity is over 1000 we went ahead with the purchase. We have found the towing to be fine so far, and we were driving in the Blue Ridge mountains recently. We agree that the Crosswind Assist in the Mercedes Sprinter is totally broken. We had it activate all the time in our Class B, and to say it was aggravating would be an understatement. Surprisingly, we have not had it activate as yet in the Wayfarer, but we feel it is only a matter of time. They really need to adjust the sensitivity. Thanks for your post.
You make a great point. Many covers come with stitched sides specifically designed to break away if the air bag deploys, but there's no guarantee the covers you order will have them. Now we've got to double check ours. Thanks.
There again there is no room if you’re a couple it would work but not for anything else. I hate a bed you have to put up and down and I wouldn’t want an induction cook top. I’m looking for a camper and I haven’t seen one yet.
We like to keep the long hose on the "dirty" side of the filter to prevent any buildup of gook from when we store it out of the coach. It's just a matter of preference as long as there is enough space for the filter to keep it from putting stress on the RV inlet. We are still perfecting our set-up, and will probably be adding some "quick-connects" at the recommendation of some of our viewers. We can see how you would think the filter is backwards, but unless you add some really weird connections, it is impossible to connect the filter backwards. Thanks for your post.
@@halffasttravelers2702 Not the flat tow, but Jeep in general since Fiat took over. With their designs replacing the old, I'm hearing more and more issues with them from the suspension to the engine. There is a saying, FIAT = Fix It Again Tomorrow.
@@halffasttravelers2702 Don't mean to be an old stick in the mud but I can remember back in the 70s FIAT being unreliable and sadly, they haven't improved. Jeep so far hasn't been too bad, but it's starting. But now the old designs are nearing end of patent and Fiat is stepping in.
We too are not so happy with the changes Fiat has made since the "Stellantis debacle." We have heard "Fix It Again Tony" before, "tomorrow" is a new one we will definitely use.
We hear this quite a bit. Unfortunately, Thor seems to own everything right now. We were told that they are allowing Tiffin to operate as they did prior to the "merger." We only hope this is the case.
Thank you so much. She was extremely happy and we are loving life right now.
Now that makes more sense. Thanks for clarifying and posting this information.
It doesn’t matter who’s it was, the point is what you paid for that , nothing that small should be an issue in a coach like that. Quality control !
@@kimdagnillo8246settle down little one it’s not perfect world 😊peace love ❤️
Congratulations on your new Rv! Enjoy!
Thank you! Will do!
Thanks for the information. We will look into it.
You mentioned many of the reasons we chose the RW in the first place. Thanks for the suggestions on the upgrades, we will definitely look into that.
First time ever that I really enjoyed the entire presentation of your RV. We also went from a B to a small C like yours. We love the space. Enjoy in good health.
Thanks. Despite the difficulties we are having on our first trip, we are still enjoying the experience.

Awesome!
Congratulations on your new RV. You live and learn, enjoy that journey. THANK YOU for sharing.
Thank you! Will do!
That looks like the perfect choice!! Thanks for sharing all of your adventures and keeping them interesting!!
Thanks, we are so happy you're enjoying the videos.
Congrats guys! One thing I would recommend is to axe the music during setup. I’d say most people prefer the ASMR associated with just watching and listening to you speak or work. Congrats again!
Thanks, we were giving the music a try, but we'll probably just use it during our travel videos. Thanks for the constructive criticism.

Congrats! We have a 2021 RW. We took out the bedroom TV and put in cabinet doors for more storage. That’s about the only change. Safe travels!
I have a Thor Gemini as well. Can you please provide a link to the leveling jacks you purchased? TY!!
I personally find connecting the water filter at the source spigot is easier and won’t strain the inlet in the coach with the angle, regardless the extension you have there…
A 90 degree elbow with a shut off valve is a bonus at the inlet too, regardless the filter placement.
Thanks.
I thoroughly enjoyed watching this video…great job and congrats! 🎉
Yay! Thank you!
Wow. Thats a lot of work just to set up. Beautiful coach but too much work for me. Enjoy!!
It is a bit of work, but remember, that was our first go at the set up for the new RV. We have gotten much better now that we have a "system" in place. It's all part of the experience. Cheers!

congratulations guys.

Congrats! That Wayfarer is a sharp looking "small C" - only a bit bigger than your van but a lot more liveability!
We couldn't have said it better ourselves. Thanks.
This small C offers the best experience IMO glad I didn’t wait two years for something smaller, would not have worked out. Still after all the RV shows it is still by far the best choice for us. Looking for many years of leak proof exterior, and no issues with dried up vinyl graphics.
Congrats on your upgrade.
Thanks, George!
Love your new Wayfarer congratulations! Seems like alot of steps to get set up...Enjoy! ❤❤❤
Yes, but we are getting better at it all the time. The first few times are always a little stressful. We don't want to break anything. Thank you.
Absolutely! Beige seat covers were one of our first purchases. They work like a charm. Thanks.
We seriously came very close to purchasing a new Coachman beyond class b. But being very tall I was very uncomfortable in the drivers seat So glad that we found the 2024 Tiffin Wayfarer. The Mercedes seats are very comfortable with plenty of legroom for 6 footers.
We have to agree, the driving position and seats are two of the things Dan likes best about the Mercedes chassis. Thanks for posting your experience.
Congrats on the Rubicon!😁 Loving it!
Thanks, we were skeptical about Jeep products based upon reliability reviews, but there is no question that they are fun to drive.

I hope that 4cyl turbo holds up. Pushing that little engine to its limits.
It is definitely pushing the limits but we’ve been pretty happy with it so far.

Congratulations! Well done!
Thank you so much 😀
In one of your post you told the weight of your keep toad .would you share that again . Thank you
Yes, the 2D Rubicon is listed as 4,200lbs. This is right at our limit for towing, so we carry very little in the toad, and just the bare minimums in the RV. This keeps our GCWR within the limits. We always recommend that you take the setup to the scales and get the exact weight just to be sure.
Hook your sewer hose to the dump first and then to the coach. This way if you have liquid in the line it runs into the dump and not on the ground.
That’s good advice. We started doing that after watching some videos on the topic. Thanks for posting.
Quick connects for the fresh water hose.
We didn't even consider these until we started reading the comments. They are on the list. Thanks.
Both are extremely nice . Wow!
Thank you so much!
Thanks.
@@halffasttravelers2702 That is good to hear. I'm going to start looking into the flat tow. Thanks for the reply. Happy travels!
Congrats on your new rig. Shall we start the countdown to the first total breakdown and six month warranty waiting game?
Well we don’t want to, but we guess we will. We’re trying to stay optimistic.
Thank you.
Hello, great video thank you! Whst is the Occc on this new model?
Our CCC is 1,040 lbs. Not the best, but it works for us.
@@halffasttravelers2702sounds good to me too!
Where did you get the front window covers
We got them on Amazon. They are made by Pigenius. We have discovered that the suction cups are subject to melting if you store them in a hot place for too long, but they still work, just not as well as they did when new. Fortunately, the suction cups are very cheap to replace.
Maybe a tad of topic but how are you enjoying the jeep and how is the Mercedes doing pulling it? We think we want a
Jeep toad
Now that we have the Toad, we don't know what we ever did without it. The towing process has gone smoothly, and the hook/unhook process isn't all that inconvenient. We haven't had any problems pulling, but we definitely know it's there. As far as the Jeep goes, Dan wasn't really a big Jeep fan. He has since been converted. We love it!
How do you feel about the OCCC load rating on the unit?
Good luck.
Why they build the freshwater inlet so close to the sewer outlet?
Congratulations!💯🏆😁🌈🥂
Thanks so much!
I think 4cyl twin turbos over 6cyl single will be a problem down the road long term. I hope I'm wrong.
@@halffasttravelers2702thank you for answering. Appreciate it. I see your point about unhooking.
Congratulations awesome
Thank you!!
Congrats! Very nice but the biggest downside is no bed without the slide out.
Yes it is! We are hoping not to have any slide-out issues. Fingers crossed.
Any warranty work go to Red Bay. They know there stuff 😊.
Yes, we have been in touch with a representative/tech there recently. He was absolutely awesome. Thanks for the post.
Wondering what the mpg is on this new Mercedes?
So did you trade in your van or keep it
Yes we did. Check out our video where we reveal the RV we purchased.
Put the clear elbow in and u have enough hose.
We thought about the elbow, but are not sure it would work lengthwise with the lower opening. We may add one if it will fit. Thanks for the suggestion.
Did you have a 3rd party inspection prior to purchase?
We didn't for a number of reasons, but we do recommend them especially for pre-owned purchases.
@@halffasttravelers2702 Hmmm Not sure that was wise, as we hear Tiffin quality has suffered after the buyout.
Be safe out there
You Too!
9:39 Hope you have no "Karens/HOA" in neighborhood, they will be upset that you are blocking part of the sidewalk. 😂😂😂😂😂
❤️❤️👍👍
Thanks for the support.
Keeps everything indoors so it won’t show leaks until you drive it away
Now that's an interesting perspective, and more true than you know. Keep watching.
Yeah, no real bed without a slide out. Not sure it is the way I would go.
Towing a vehicle is terrible,
the tow vehicle will pull you around.
If the seats are a good quality leather they will not get hot, I've had black seats for 10 years in Florida and they've never gotten hot.
We were hoping that Mercedes would use good leather, but they get hot after only a few minutes in the Florida sun.
I just can't give up the convenience of a tow vehicle
We have to agree with you. Now that we have the toad, we don't know how we ever got along without it.
Oh wow. I hope u don’t have any horrible build issues.
Us too. Fingers crossed. LOL
Wow! Congratulations! Love Hugs and Prayers in Jesus Holy Name!🐏✝️💜🕊️🎗️🐎🦄🦁🧸🌈
Thanks for the well wishes and blessings. We always need those.
I hope you had an Inspection done before you left the lot!!! 🙏🏽🙏🏽
We did not for a number of reasons, but we do recommend inspections highly, especially when purchasing a pre-owned RV. Thanks for posting this.
If those seats have side airbags, be sure not to cover them with seat covers.
It's not an easy task finding the perfect RV, but eventually you'll find something that will work for you. Good luck.
Looks like your water filter is the wrong way and also you might want to hook it up to the spigot instead go inside the coach.
Nice RV. Good luck with the Fiat tow vehicle
Thanks, but you sound skeptical about the "flat tow." Have you had a bad experience?
That's nice. Sounds like you keep saying, "Half A$$ Travelers. " 😂😂😂😂
Well, we try our best to be very careful with the pronunciation. Hope it gives you a chuckle though.
😊😊
Thanks for the smiles.
Congrats but I would never buy another rv own by Thor
We hear this quite a bit. Unfortunately, Thor seems to own everything right now. We were told that they are allowing Tiffin to operate as they did prior to the "merger." We only hope this is the case.
Too much work.😌
lol. We know exactly what you mean.
Enjoy meeting all of the new mechanics during your travels that will be fixing your piece of junk Jeep 😅
Ha ha. Dan continues to be skeptical of the reliability as well but it is really fun to drive.
So you buy an RV which is a big scam then you get a jeep which is the worst thing ever made 🙈🙈🙈I have the Brooklyn bridge for sale if y want
Now that is some funny stuff. Thanks for the laugh.
what's with the glasses.
South Florida sun is a killer. Gotta protect those retinas.
Please get rid of the background Music...ots irritating when I'm trying to o listen to you.
Your wish is our command. We'll only be using the music for transitions, and travel montages. Thanks for your input.
I don't really trust people that i can't look in the eyes. most of the times there lying .
You might have a hard time with that in Florida as most people wear sunglasses here.
Camping world !!!!! Hell no
LOL, it was the closest place to get the essentials.
