I ordered my first and only Porsche in July of 2013. I originally ordered the 2.5l , then changed the order to the 3.2L. The Boxster S arrived as a 2014 model in October of 2013. Having owned many BMWs this was definitely a step up . The fit and finish, ride comfort were better than I has wished for. My Boxster is a daily driver with many long trips up the East Coast. It can average over 32 mpg at speeds of 75mph. I change the oil every 8 to 10K and have the oil analyzed every oil change. I am at 82K and getting ready for another oil change which I do myself. The only problems I have had are two. The door panel started to separate at the arm rest after the warranty. My Naples Porsche dealer paid for the replacement of both door panels out of good will. The other problem was a faulty radiator cap which dumped the fluid. Fortunately there was no damage and I replaced the cap and have had no other problems with the car. Of all the cars I have owned this Boxster and the BMW 1998 Z3 are the most reliable.

It's amazing that Porsche was able to keep the weight at 2888 and retain that level of finish including an electric powered top. I'm all about form = function but how great is it when that form is also so refined and finished.

So glad you have produced this cool video. I agree about the X73 is amazing in the 981. I have been upgrading my Cayman with X73 and recently came upon some awesome Pzero Cayman Cup tyres and have fitted on 18” track wheels. Handling is amazing. I am going for first test at a Porsche day soon in February so can’t wait. Your car looks beautiful.

No, it's not. The 981 is faster, corners better, sounds better, has better interior, looks better and is much more practical. The only plus of the Miata is it's price. But overall, the 981 is the best "entry level" sports car.

@@knn3th - I own both. The Miata is more fun in many ways due to its nimble lightness. Yes it’s not as refined and definitely not better in quality or refinement but of course it’s much cheaper to own! Both cars are lots of fun!! They are both roadsters and great cars in their own way. I love driving both the Boxster and the Miata. If I had a budget issue I’d keep my Miata and sell the Boxster and I’d still have a terrific car that’s a load of fun to drive. The Boxster is better on long cruises on trips and provided a much roomier comfortable space with more storage and luxury. It’s a luxury roadster with great performance while the Miata is a great value for enthusiasts on a budget!!
