ISRO is not knocking, it has broken the door!
Rich Men from Richmond is a song of the times that simply resonates with millions of people like no other song has.
This song is amazing. I find it amazing how these two can spend so much time critizing a #1 song. I would like to know what song they think is a great song currently on the charts?
I guess the better question would be “what song do they like to be number 1” as apparently to them it is more important that the number 1 song is one that they like, as opposed to the best song.
@@Bakara23 they really showed themselves for who they were, unthinking shells of men...
I think from listening to about two or three seconds from these two fine gentlemen that thirst song would rather come from someone like lizzo they would approve of that,😢
Lots of talk to explain that you don’t get it.
They're not even close to getting it!
How about Oliver Anthony is revealing his soul in the words. He is saying what most Americans are feeling. Nothing more nothing less.
its about eating bugs
The lyric isn't anti-welfare. It's a critique of the priorities that the powers-that-be maintain. Issues close to home are smothered by what amounts to gossip news or the resources needed to deal with them is siphoned off by the bureaucracy without solving anything.
Thank you both ! BRICKS TO THE 6 EP OUT NOW !
Truth is always controversial in a world that the powerful and influential have to try to control.

The NYT has really gone off the deep end. If you think this song about the difficulties of working in America is "right wing," then you sirs need to try to live like he does for even a day. Your 7 dollar latte will be pretty hard to drink, let alone afford. Do is a favor, NYT, and start fighting for working men and women again. You've become the paper of the upper class!
no the right wing part is where he takes potshots at people on welfare

So the fall off at the welfare part there is because that part is harder to remember lol. I sing along to his song all the time. I am a single mom with 3 boys, and I get food stamps and have state medical. I take absolutely no offense to how he speaks of welfare in this song. I have never met him, but I have a feeling he isn't singing about me using that statement. I think I can safely assume that. I am a strong believer that we shouldnt have to over-explain every single statement a song makes (or that we make while speaking). I take it at face value as he says it, and I agree with him 100% people shouldn't milk welfare and food stamps shouldn't be used to enable unhealthy behavior.
This is not a republican song This is not democratic song, This song isn't aginst LGBTQ, This song isn't aginst race, This song isn't aginst woke or unwoke culture or any other culture for that fact.

They want us divided.
How can a song attacking Washington from the left be right wing? please explain lol
To these sheltered, "gotta come up with a theory to justify my clearly un-earned position at NYT" types, apparently it's right wing to be from West Virginia... That's all, I think.
He said he's down the middle, Not Right or Left! But he's embracing the right wing audience! The song is very passionate and touching and that's what art is all about!!!
He doesn’t embrace either side. He has said that many times that he doesn’t want to be grouped with either side. It just resonates with the right more because they are more commonly blue collar workers.
So you go right to the welfare line and emphasize that, with all the other pain in the song. Not surprised
Watching two New York Times neckbeards try to dismantle a #1 song that speaks truth into a mere “dog whistle” song is absolutely comical and highlights even further the disconnect between corporate media and the public and why this song is #1.
Knock knock I am Indian 🇮🇳🐄
Knock knock I am also Indian 🇮🇳🐄
I think its because so many love the song and the right seem to really love it. The problem is the extremists on the left hate when the right is humanized.
A religious turn? NO.
The Holy Spirit came across him. He reads Scripture before concerts. The Word of God does not return void.
Just be quiet and let us LISTEN!
No great hit has ever avoided being uncouth. They come from the streets, as it were.
But to those on the outside everything is said in parables so that, they may be ever seeing and never perceiving, and ever hearing but never understanding; otherwise they might turn and be forgiven! Good luck gentlemen.
So these corporations are multinational, and this song resonates with people around the world.
I'm definitely not conservative and I thought it was a good song I listened to it a couple times.... I can enjoy any music when someone's put their heart into it. From the guy on the corner to the guy on the stage

This song is not a country song. It's a protest song. Like Woody Guthrie, Pete Seeger and Bob Dylan. It's folk music and the best folk song in decades.
I consider that the lyrics, specifically what are deemed dogwhistle parts, of Oliver Anthony's song are born out of/influenced by what dominates online conversation, instead of political ideology.
Yeah, but what dominates that online conversation IS political ideology. It's right wing, anti intellectual, reactionary ideology.
Nothing wrong with being elite providing you can do it Without using the backs of your fellow humans as steps.

NYT, Good Grief. Talk about under informed.
Strange how everyone in media wants to criticize Oliver Anthony but it seems to me that many who have an online presence are definitely using his story to get clicks for their own lame channels.
Especially these two absolutely terrible critics.

He chooses God to lead his life and leans on the Bible for his strength and conviction. He sings about the true pain he feels and lives through. People relate to his words, they love his voice and guitar talent is amazing. So simple, pure and beautiful. True artist.
Hello *******s in NYT, next month india is on its way to Sun, hope Sun unleashes some flares on you, hope you survive & make a cartoon, thank you once again for calling us a poor country, we are the 1st one on moons south pole🇮🇳💪🚩
lol. so a right wing politician says the song is not political, and that makes the left over compensate? um...anything a politician does or says is political, and so if a politician comments on it, that right wing politician made the song all that more political by making it a talking point for their political platform.

The idea that this song was pushed to the top by right-wing influencers does not make any sense. Right-wing influencers have tried to push other songs to the top, as well, but none has attracted this volume of attention. If this song has attracted this much attention, it is because of the song itself, not because it was pushed by right-wing influencers. Right-wing influencers may have attracted attentions to the song, but if the song didn’t have any merit in itself, it would never fly to the top of the charts like this. You have gone to a great length to create a complicated narrative, which is really a form of conspiracy theory, to explain why this song went viral. How about a simple explanation: it is a great song and people love it. As simple as that. When you create a narrative, please don’t let your personal feelings influence your narrative. Instead, stick to logic and the truth, even if you personally don't like it.
I must add that I personally do not sympathize with right-wing ideology at all and to refute your theory, I first heard about this song, not from right-wing influencers on social media, but in a Guardian article titled: "The protest song that's taken America by storm hits too many false notes". Then I checked the song and loved it because it is beautiful. And one other thing to give you some context, I was not able to listen to Jason Aldean or Luke Combs or Morgan Wallen songs even once. I played ten seconds from each song and stopped. Oliver Anthony's music is different.
I agree with you. These music critics are the "Alex Jones" of the NYT. I had to turn away in disgust about halfway through their half-baked theory. I first heard the song on the Guardian's website, too.
