Measurements:
•Top part of hat (between the ears) = 8cm wide
•Width space of ear holes = 7cm each
•Circumference of hat (below the ears) = 30cm
•Brim of hat = 4cm long
•Length of strings = 25cm each
What you will need:
•Dk yarn in 3 colours (1st Green, 2nd White, 3rd Black)
•4.0mm crochet hook
•Blunt/Sewing needle
•Scissors
Crochet Abbreviations:
•sc = single crochet
•dc = double crochet
•ch = chain
•sl st = slip stitch
•st/sts = stitch/stitches
•inc = increase (2 stitches into the same place)
•(…)x = repeat the instructions in brackets the given number of times
•[…] = total number of stitches between the brackets

Hi! Example the stitch is single crochet (sc) so let’s say next round “increase” you would put two single crochets in each stitch opposed to doing one. Hope that makes sense! 😊

Hello this hat is beautiful! But I wonder, how can i can make it smaller for a cat?
Well you can try doing the pattern in sport/fine yarn with a 3.5mm crochet hook. Im not sure it will then be able to fit a cat, but it might. Practice makes perfect and you will never know until you give it a try. Happy crocheting :)

Ok so there is a few reasons why it could have happened. It could be that you forgot to do the increases in the rounds or because you didn’t crochet the stitches the same tension or you forgot to count the ch 2 as a dc. Hope this helps

On rounf 4 i have 32 stiches finished but when i complete rpund 5 and do the last 5 stiches i have an extra stich but when i do that one it counts to 44 making it right dod i do something wrong ?

after the single dB crochet and the 2 double crochet in round four is it a 2 double crochet in each stitch or is it alternating between 1 double crochet and then 2 double crochet in the next stitch?

By positioning the eyes first and then seeming one eye to hat by going into the hat first then up and through the bottom of the eye then back dow through the hat, Then repeat 🔁

Hello, you can use and kind of yarn. It can be cotton, bamboo, acrylic etc… as long as it DK yarn :)

Each stitch around means you are going to do it into each stitch around and inc stands for increase (2 stitches into the same place) :)

what is the meaning of x7 24 in the head part of the hat im confused please helppp!
x7 means you need to repeat the steps in a total of 7 times over again. [24] means or shows how many stitches there should be at the end of a round. :)

Ok so the [16] has nothing to do with the x7, it just shows you when you have finished the rnd, how many stitches there should be at the end of the round, that’s why it has been place in brackets to show that it isn’t part of anything but just shows how many stitches there should be at the end of a round. The ( dc, inc )x7 shows you are going to repeat the dc, inc 7 times over in total like, dc, inc ( thats the 1st time ) - dc, inc ( 2nd time ) - dc, inc ( 3rd time ) - dc, inc (4th time) - dc, inc (5th time) - dc, inc (6th time) and dc, inc the 7th time. So basically you are going to do 7 double crochets and 7 increases, but just mixed up in dc, inc, dc, inc and so on.

can i use any size of crochet hook?
Crochet hooks sizes that will work with this one is a 3.5mm, 4.0mm and 4.5 mm crochet hook. But i would recommend using the 4.0mm crochet hook because it works the best for Dk yarn, it doesn’t form the stitches too tight and too loosely :)

Hmm it depends on the measurement of the dogs head between the two ears. You can probably add an extra round before adding the the chain space for the ear holes

If the the hats edges doesn’t come out waven then you need to crochet them a bit more loosely 😁
