Thanks for the video. I have some suggestions for you when showcasing a new product idea, please include a link in the summary and, at minimum, text describing the manufacturer, model number, and product name. Secondly, a follow-up video showing the next cleaning of the new filter and your feedback if you are satisfied and why.
That's Alot of Dirt/Dust. Alternatively, you can install the Filter at the Intake Port. That way It Filters Everything at the Source and Nothing even Makes it in to the Unit. That's what I did, My Core is Super Protected and Clean.
I live in Houston also and am thinking of installing either an ERV or Dehumidifier. Which would you choose if you had only one? Is your AC two-stage? Thanks a lot!
The ERV and dehumidifier do two different things. If you are having problems with ventilation and high humidity, then you will need both. I do think I remember seeing a single unit that is a dehumidifier and a fresh air ventilator. I don’t remember the brand, but that might be something you could look into. We have very high humidity in Georgia so a dehumidifier is absolutely necessary, especially in a spray foamed house. I would not choose to do the ERV again. Instead, I would have just installed fresh air returns on each of my HVAC units. It would’ve been a lot cheaper and I think it would bring in more fresh air than this ERV does.
My ERV does not remove humidity from my house. I have a dehumidifier in my house that removes humidity. At least with my experience, the ERV has nothing to do with my humidity level.

if I disable my ERV, will I have more 'humidity' in my house?
