I was baptized as a baby but did not receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit until after college but then I sought Him and was "sent" to Maui and Oahu & Big Island where I lived 9 months the first time. When I was told by some that I needed a full immersion baptism I prayed to Father God. Standing on the bridge over the lagoon near the Ala Wait Harbor a 🌈 appeared and my head was sprinkled from above and I heard the Words of the baptism and God said I took care of that!
I plan on going there soon, I wish I knew about pastor chuck and Jesus growing up. I am saved and babtized now but to go see where this was going on is going to be amazing and I’m believing for another revolution so others will be saved as well
I am 73 years old and have been a believer since 1968. I pray I'll be able to see a mighty move of God in America before I go home to heaven. We desperately need revival.
Oh My What memories!!! I am 65 now and I look back on these years with incredible memories. Many many of us became life long believers in Jesus. Love Song was the music we all listened to as we grew closer to God. Ill never for get it!
I was saved in 1967 at 12. 5 years later I married. We went cross country searching for answers. We stayed at many Christian communes the summer of 1972. We learned passing out tracts and witnessing. We settled in a church and started raising our first son . When our son was 4 months old Father's Day 1973, my husband of 18 months surrender to be a preacher. He served the LORD for 36 years until he went to Heaven 14 years ago. This widow is still witnessing and passing out tracts and giving away Bibles ( in memory of Walter Couls )
My wife and I just watched the movie, “Jesus Revolution”, and I pretty much wept through the whole film. Absolutely loved it. Depicted beautifully that great awakening in America. I was just a little kid at that time, but learned of the movement later in the 70s when I came to Christ as a teen. Listened to Chuck Girard, Love Song, 2nd Chapter of Acts, and so many more who came out of that great movement of God’s Spirit. My mother listened to Pastor Chuck daily on the radio, which meant my brothers and I did too! The movie stirred my heart deeply. Do that again, Father. Do it again. 🙏🏻
My husband and I just saw it today, I can't even explain how I feel right now. I was only 6 years old when all of this was happening. I wish I could have been a part of all of this love for Jesus. I feel so blessed to hear this music, I hope this Awakening helps and saves so many.

The last time my family vacationed in SoCal, a month before California became a Fascist state, I stopped by this spot. The Holy Spirit came on me, as I recalled what the Lord had done here in the mid-1970s. We need a massive turning to the Lord like what happened during the Jesus Movement. And I prayed for that. The clip of August 11,1973 flying in the sky is a VERY precious date for us. The precious memory of that day we hold secretly in our hearts and only with God. How young we all were, and how young Papa Chuck looks! He used to be so old to us...how time fly's here on earth but is non existent in the Spirit of God! I still see you up there singing while I was sitting down front on the floor. I think I will forever. oh my word... i was baptized there in 1970 at 8 yr old, was very nervous and i remember Pastor Smith asking me if i understood what it all meant and i said yes... my parents took over the management of the Fire Escape coffee house in LA for a couple years and we got to see all of the Maranatha bands many times... still believe it was the best years of my younger life, thank you for all your music and memories

The connection to Hal Lindsey and “The Late Great Planet Earth” book helped me get more serious about my salvation as an 8 year old boy at Summer Christian Camp in 1959…and encouraged my walk of faith at age 22 married with kids. The music from this movement helped too…PTL
I was in elementary school during this time in FL and only heard about "the Jesus people" or the "Jesus freaks." And what I remember seeing and not just hearing about was the "I Am" poster my sister had. I remember reading that poster and thinking "that's really about Jesus." I wanted to study the poster, or go to the scriptures that had each scripture reference but was too afraid to. I thought I shouldn't do that since I was not in church or that lightning might strike me. That was one of many memories I had growing up where I was thinking to myself that Jesus is the Son of God and I don't want to get too far away from knowing that. Earliest memory was playing with water hose at 3 years old and thinking what I heard in Sunday School that day..."God has a Son, everyone believes in Jesus.?" The faith of a child. It wasn't until I was 17 I was baptized after a time of getting into the Word myself, and praying asking God why was I created and what was my purpose in life. For some reason this video reminded me of all that.

I shot a cover story of the Jesus People for Campus Life mag that featured the mass baptisms at Corona Del Mar bay!! Holy Spirit do it again in a new and powerful way!!! Steve H

I have to say I saw a video of David Wilkerson interviewing Jesus people in the 70s and he was very critical what they look like or what they wore! He was it like a later version of another Chuck Smith before Chuck Smith got it! He was acting all religious and uppity like he was better than they were! They were trying to let him know in a nice way you're looking at the outside appearance but you're not looking on the heart! David Wilkerson had a very critical spirit back then and I don't like him even today! That self-righteous Pharisee attitude does not belong! If Jesus comes into your heart it doesn't matter what you look like on the outside it's what you look like on the inside! 🙏🙌💕
I believe you were born in the right era! This is the era of the Second Jesus Revolution! This time it won't stop though. This time we are going and going until we meet Him in the air! We are in the beginnings right now. In my area, the people are hungry for the Truth and Life, and there are church leaders who are tired of dry religion. I was there in 1971. You had to be there to hear Lonnie. It was about loving God and the outpouring of the Spirit. Youre getting to complicated. It was just about loving God in all Three Persons. Loving each other as a Christian agape family in Christ.
I think the difference between people of my generation turning to Jesus back in the 70’s was that there was no Christian nationalism connected to it. No body on those days wanted to replace our democracy with fascism lite. So I don’t buy any comparisons between what happened then to what is happening today in evangelical Christianity.

Jesus is the love! The Holy Spirit being poured out into the hearts of everone. Was so real. No fakeness about it. When we understand how Gods love is unconditional we fall in love with him. We need more of this today. God is love and in Him is no darkness or shadow of turning away from us.🌞💐💕

The guy couldn't teach his way out of a wet paper bag. Knew very little about doctrine, had bad doctrine.
I was there in 1971. You had to be there to hear Lonnie. It was about loving God and the outpouring of the Spirit. Youre getting to complicated. It was just about loving God in all Three Persons. Loving each other as a Christian agape family in Christ.
I think the difference between people of my generation turning to Jesus back in the 70’s was that there was no Christian nationalism connected to it. No body on those days wanted to replace our democracy with fascism lite. So I don’t buy any comparisons between what happened then to what is happening today in evangelical Christianity.
