Crochet Dolphin Tutorial - Crochet Applique Tutorial

In my crochet tutorial today I'll be showing you how to make this crochet dolphin applique.

For this pattern you will need crochet cotton or wool, I used Scheepjes Catona crochet cotton colours (074) Mercury and (106) Snow White. A crochet hook, I used a 2.5mm hook. Scissors. Darning needle to weave in ends. Sewing thread and needle to stitch the dolphin together. Black cotton to embroider on eye marking if desired.
The finished size will be 15cm x 10cm (6” x 4”) for the larger dolphin, using 8 ply crochet cotton. The medium dolphin will be 9cm x 8cm (3.5” x 3”) when using 4 ply crochet cotton. The small dolphin will be 8.5cm x 6cm (3.25” x 2.25”) when using 2 ply crochet cotton.

Row 27 of the dolphin says slip stitch into the second stitch, but the video says slip stitch into the first two stitches. I went ahead and did what the video said. Just want to let you know! Love your patterns so much!!!!

Hi Lacy, I’ glad you love the patterns. it doesn’t make any difference if you slip stitch into the first 2 stitches or just into the second stitch, either way is fine. Both turn out the same. Occasionally when filming a video it will be a bit different from the written pattern.
