She started giving me more work and letting me read her books while waiting for everyone else to catch up. The next year I got into an advanced program and it was a game changer. As someone who was like this girl I was giving my perspective about school. The older you are the harder it is to get special services which is why the mom would need to go to the school for the help. This isn’t the same. She has behavioral issues like fighting & being disrespectful & slamming doors/punching doors & drinking/smoking, suspended 100xs??? That all stems from other issues beyond not being intellectually challenged. U & I had the same experience we were simply bored bc we were advanced. I didn’t have behavioral issues I needed to be challenged more. Was never suspended, was never defiant, never fault, never punched a wall. There is a reason she is acting out….She’s being defiant. Not debating whether or not she’s intelligent bc I’m sure she IS, I’m simply saying not being challenged enough so u resort to bad behavior doesn’t make sense. Don’t pacify the issue. When I was growing up going to school I was also bored and knew the work and I started acting out. My principal suggested skipping me a few grades but my dad refused so in high school I just started skipping class alot and eventually gave up. Unless you have the condition you dont know how hard it is to move through the world. Many people with ADD ADHD commit suicide, its people with your attidude that hinder us growing, its NOT her that needs to change !!!!!, Luckily I had a teacher who realised the issue, because I would hide in the school bathroom all day because I was bored. He saw I had a gift for maths and music, so didn't force me to any lesson I was bored. Also told my parents to go easy on me about cleaning my room etc. I was far for lazy I would work 2 ten hour shifts at a diner at the weekend in addtion to going to school in the week. It's really hard being a parent that doesn't receive the support to raise a child and just "figure it out". Try to protect our children from disappointment, harm, etc but somehow children feel a way about something that's personally bothering them that can't express it to be understood by us parents and what we try to protect them from ends up actually hurting them in some way... its hard.

I’d also take her to volunteer some times, helping homeless etc. And one last one which is good for you too😊 is to give her a gratitude journal. -Sigh...I had to leave the school system in the USA for manyyyy reasons. If parents knew the backend of how these schools are set up they would do two things
    1) transfer to private school
    2) Look for alternate or homeschooling.
The public schools system in the USA is complete trashhhhh (for the most part). Teachers are underpaid and overworked. Are told to have very strict disciplinary rules (not allowing for any kind of students teachers true relationship), they all go by a *guidelines* that's beyond ridiculous and very few teachers can bypass these rules.
I mentioned private school because I had the pleasure to visit a few and my jaw dropped considerably at the significant difference! From curriculum, to classroom management, students teachers relationship, parents involvement....The list goes on. Yes these schools are pricy however in my opinion if you can afford it why not?... Education is priceless 👌🏾.
-Malaysia sounds like an excellent student 👍🏾. I agree with Karamo that she is more than likely bored...Mom needs to look for an alternative schooling, pick on her interests, and invest into them.
Parents needs to get to know their children better. Learn their interest, get involved, and engaged before saying your child is acting up.

I can see this young girl is very intelligent & beautiful too. I’m no therapist but her anger comes from the father not being there. As well as the Mama’s frustration. Ooh I can totally understand both sides being that I was a single parent for many years. My only child which is my son he was bored too. Often times we as parents don’t allow our children to express themselves but when they do it comes off as being disrespectful. I was raised old school and I wasn’t able to express myself either. But my Son is who taught me how to treat him differently. Which allowed us to have a great relationship he’s grown now and doing well for himself. The Mama is overwhelmed, and frustrated but she shouldn’t take her frustration out on her daughter to be honest she doesn’t mean too they are just all each other have. Ooh how Ikn being a single parent isn’t an easy job. I made it a point to take car rides together so we both could have a clear understanding of each other, we laughed and cried to get through it positively. Something about riding in the car for Us worked wonders..he loved it & still does..😂! Another thing is that I’m an open minded individual nothing he said scared me. My son & his father had to build their relationship. I neva talked bad about his father and my son neva knew when I was upset with his father either. So all of that goes a very long way. I prayed a lot, we communicated a lot.! It takes time, patience and work on both ends.! I’ll be praying for a positive turnaround for both.! 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾💜💛❤️

You make messes in your kids life that you don’t clean up you’ll pay the price. A daughters biggest influence is the example her mother sets.

I understand 💯 where this girl is coming from , I go through the same thing with my mom , y’all never understand our side of the story which builds up this wall of nonchalantness and hatred , causing us to act the way we do , and idk about her but my mom is very toxic behind closed doors y’all don’t know what goes on behind closed doors with this girl your just judging and that’s exactly why we do what we do .

She needs an outlet. She probably has ADHD. She is a pretty girl. I think the mom needs to get her into more activities. They need family therapy also .
