Honestly taking Penix Jr later on in the draft is so much better then blowing resources for JJ McCarthy. I don't know enough about Maye but believe in Williams, Daniels and can see Penix Jr working w the right team and right pieces around him. Maye has all the psychically capabilities to be Josh Allen 2.0 etc. McCarthy looks like a backup style or maybe a game manager Cousins type at best to me

Passing up a QB because you lack weapons is terrible logic. If you find the right QB, you take him immediately and then fill out the rest. Wrs can be found everywhere. GB rebuilt almost an entire receiving/te room in 1 year.

Jayden, Drake, and JJ are very reliant on their 1st read, Jayden and JJ especially (one defaults to running and the other late on his progressions once the first isn’t there). Drake is the best of those 3 .
Penix falling is a great example of NFL Scouting groupthink. He’s the most composed, accurate, smoothest progressions, great over the middle throws, and deceptive running speed. Once the dust settles, he’ll be on Caleb’s tier as the best QBs in this class.
I don't doubt that, but his health is the big scare with him that will probably cause him to fall.

All I know is Michigan was begging him to throw to the middle and he couldn’t. He is great at the deep ball, helped by world class receivers.

In all honesty I just feel like it doesn’t really matter. Don’t they literally have “The next Best thing” at QB almost every single year? And for the most part, no one ever really knows, and it’s very hard to predict how these guy’s careers will go.
This is just from my perspective. (Someone who hasn’t really watched Football since Brady Retired). Nor do I really have an interest to.

I'm not sure about the CB he has them taking at #11, I'm just not that familiar with him. But I will be very happy if the Vikings fill 2 conditions. 1) Do not try & move up in the draft. 2) Do not draft JJ McCarthy unless the first round is over.
Giants drafting McCarthy only makes sense if they trade next years pick, so you can get him a WR cause RN the giants have a bottom 3 offense rn

It must be excruciating for a team like the Giants. The thought of losing draft capital to move up 2 spots because you are afraid that Minnesota could swoop in if they want to. The Giants should trade out and accumulate more picks. It makes sense for Minnesota to move up to get their guy. The Giants need to rebuild their roster.

As a UM fan I have watched almost every snap JJ has ever taken and I am very appreciative of what he gave to the program. But I can also say as a Giants fan drafting at 4 or 6 will be a big mistake. DJ 2.0

This is how it's gonna go: 1- Caleb to the Bears, 2- Jayden to the Commanders, 3- Drake Maye to the Patriots, 4- Marvin Harrison to the Cards, 5- Malik Naybors to the Chargers, 6- The Giants trade with Minnesota. Minnesota takes Mccarthy at 6. Giants get 11&23. 7-9 I don't know how any of these teams pass on Odunze. 10- The Jets may trade back to 13 with the Raiders plus the Raiders 2nd round pick so the Raiders can get Penix. 11- Giants take best available. 12-Denver may take Nix but they should consider trading back to accumulate more picks. Sean Payton is already off to a disastrous start in Denver. If he misses on a rookie QB he is cooked. Take the capital and build your roster.

If Drake May Falls to the Patriots at #3 pick. We are going to see a three way trade. The Patriots trade down to the 4th pick from the cardinals and receive Minnesota's 2025 1st round pick. The Cardinals get the 11th and 23rd pick from the Vikings for the 3rd pick. Thus the Vikings get their guy at the third pick of the draft.
The cardinals said they require 3 first round picks to trade down. So no way they will trade down for just 11,23

But he really is a mid to late first rounder. I would say, even Will Levis is better than the kid from Michigan, and look where he fell. I don’t believe that I am the only one curious about that. Don’t forget how young Sam was when he came into the league. Now that he is a grown man, with a good quarterback-friendly Head Coach, not unlike Kyle Shanahan. Folks are starting to talk about a Renaissance for Sam. Not that different from what we’ve seen out of Baker Mayfield.

This would be terrible. JJ is definitely not a number for overall. He would get crushed more than DJ has gotten crushed because he was actually bred to be a QB unlike DJ. I could also see DJ shocking the world and playing his best football this coming year. That would be not awesome Because then you have to move on from him next year and there’s no guarantee that JJ will be ready.
I think this is a little bit of a Smokeshow because people know that Schrager has a connection with shame and will think that he got direct Intel. I don’t think that’s the case.
