If you're interested in learning to draw, it's a very good idea to start off with some very basic fundamentals. Having a more well rounded understanding of form, shape, values, texture etc will help tremendously when practicing along drawing tutorials such as this one. Doing some simple exercises with more simplified objects will also give your hand some confidence. Making smoother, quicker and more confident marks is the key to making a more convincing drawing
Really, really excellent tutorial on trees. Thanks so, so much. Drawing bare. trees has always been one of my favorite things to draw but getting the shadows in the leaves drawn correctly has always stumped me. I am stumped no longer! Many, many thanks.
I recently was blessed to see a weeping willow tree. the wind was blowing on the sunny yet chill of the fall fall day causing the branches to sway and the wind chimes to chime so happy I was able to capture this beautiful yellow and orange swaying weeping willow tree 🥰
I have low/weak imagination so I cant picture things quite well in my mind. But I loved drawing so I just copy drawings or the things around me. Sadly it isnt as fun knowing that I cant do anything without seeing them. I dont even know if I should be proud by my skills or not
Yūjīn'āru Chan even if that’s how you draw, it’s still something to be proud of :) props to you for at least trying and doing your best however you can :)
Art is a beautiful and magical thing. I've been stuck all day, asking myself the same question "What should I draw?". This video inspired me to even start on simple things, not some fancy castles or huge detailed animals. How long did the first tree take to make?
This is like the joys of painting, you see every step and understand it a little bit but you can't get it to look like what instructor has it, and get mad because you're struggling and getting mad at that happy little bush.
Great video! I love this technique, which is really just seeing the tree as a whole, and not attempting to draw a tree leaf by leaf, even just imaginary trees! Something I sometimes find myself doing---but not anymore! Thanks so much.
I have a set of fine art pens, I need to start using them. This looks great fun. As for those giving a thumbs down, what is wrong with you ? If youre not interested in art, then why watch the video ?
Great work! I noticed that you did not use vertical lines to cover dark areas, you used free lines to draw entire tree which looks more realistic. I really like it .
I have watched many drawings and paintings of trees and they're wonderful but they do not and could not explain the principle behind a drawing. This tutorial is what I am looking for. Excellent.
As a student of architecture I can say one thing... Trees are fucking easiest. THEY ARE GREAT! They look cool, and they are easy to draw. Probably my first "I don't know what should be here, so I must put anything to cover it" go to.
Excellent exhibition of art and nature on piece of paper with great and stunning impressions. Great commentary and techniques in action. Love your instructions, and details and The Drawings.
I watched this video yesterday, and tried it today. I’m very happy with the outcome of my drawing. I know I still need more practice but this lesson is very helpful. Thank you very much!
