Rather than saying good or bad. I love the mindset.

Now that the new year celebrations are over I have made my resolutions and the first one on my list is art related. I have decided to improve on my drawing skills including your wonderful pen and ink series. I have gone out and bought a selection of sketchbooks (usually I do my sketches on scrappy bits of computer paper lying around the house) and I have invested in some new ink pens and other equipment. I'm planning to have a separate sketchbook for each subject you teach. I hope I have the willpower to follow my new resolution into 2018 as I am sure this plan is going to improve my artistic skills in leaps and bounds. Do you have your new book available on Kindle yet? Thank you for being so generous with your amazing knowledge and for explaining everything so meticulously and unselfishly with your calm clear voice. You are truly an amazing inspiration to all artists on this planet! Happy New Year to you.

This was one of your first videos I watched when I started learning to draw 9 months ago. It was interesting then, but the unity and variety went right over my head, and I didn't quite grasp the jellyfish form you were explaining. Now I've been returning to trying to draw plant life recently, with a little success but things just out of my reach. Watching this video again, and doing a drawing while I watch it, it's really clicked in my mind and helped me. I understand and can apply what you're saying. Thank you again for all your awesome videos.

This video put a massive smile on my face. I’ve been learning from your books as I’m a manga artist (or gradually working on being able to really call myself that) and it’s been invaluable. I have a scene with my main character soon where I need her to be isolated by a tree and I wanted to see how you do it not just read it and I was blown away. I just love your books, and I love your spirit, be playful, have fun, don’t stress just feel blessed that we have paper and ink and whatever other supplies we love to hand.

You're truly an amazing teacher. With most tutorials, even at the end you think "Wow they make it look so easy but i still suck" but you're tutorials are so clear. You really understand and are able to express how and why you think of things a certain way. I've learned so much in just a couple of videos and I really feel like I've enjoyed this experience of transitioning from just being able to draw stick-figure-like flat drawings to complex drawings that look life like.

Thank you so much Mr. Dunn. I just started drawing a few weeks ago. I am 55 and I have no knowledge of drawing but already looked at some youtube videos to learn a few things. Today was the first time I saw one of your videos because it popped up after I had seen another one from another channel, on how to draw trees. I am following your tutorial and my trees are looking a little bit more real instead of just a flat shaped tree, like I used to do in elementary school. Thank you so much. I also appreciate the way you teach. You explain things very well. I am so excited to do more trees with your tutorial. Thank you.

Hello Alphonso, It's Alicia the draftsman. I finally found what I'm really interested in, "trees". I like the description you give for the branches, "The line of balance". My favorite trees are winter trees. I can draft with tools but I can't draw free hand. I noticed watching different videos that the majority of the artists are left handed, as most artists are, but you are not, so I suppose that I have a chance as I also am right handed. Continue with the wonderful work ,I will continue to watch. Thank you.

The music over the last time lapse is amazing. I felt like I was in a park in Paris riding a unicycle.

    Alphonso,
You are a natural at this. Not just the drawings, but the flow of the lessons too. I actually have a background in broadcast journalism. Do you too, or do you have someone that edits them for you? No, I'm not looking for a job. I was just going to say, (If you don't already do it), watch your videos over and over always taking notes on what would make the tutorial better.
When I worked in radio the station manager use to make me listen to recordings of my show. That way I could hear the mistakes I was making, (trust me, you have to have a very thick skin if you're going to be in the spotlight), and I could work on my weaknesses. I'm saying anything bad about your channel. It ROCKS! Just given some advice.
Good luck with all you're doing,
    Bill

I love this guy! I’ve learned so much from this one man. He really gets into shading and shadows easier for me to understand. I love the way he explaines stroke, shapes and forms as well!! Thanks dude!! You’re the best!

I love trees, and have wanted to draw them for so long. I never had the chance to learn the basics. You have made a dream come true for me. I will order your book immediately. You have made it all come to life so beautifully. I also really appreciated your technique in explaining the finer points. It was so awesome watching your trees come to life. Thank you so much.. I am looking forward to more of your tutorials. Please keep them coming.

I don't know what kind of a magic you hold that I am able to draw things easily the moment I start watching your videos. As an archi student, this was very helpful. Thank you for taking your time to teach us well.😊

Dear Alphonso, one more time a very useful tutorial. . You're a great teacher and you manage to make clear difficult things with simple words It reminds me the sentence of a former french writer (17th century) who said :" Ce qui se conçoit bien s'énonce clairement" That means that when your thoughts are clear, your words also. I've bought your book for Christmas. It's a must have one. Thank you so much !
