Thank you for taking my lesson. It feels weird to see myself on RUclips 🤣 but it's a very nice video. I wish you all the best on your future learning journey. - from Saeko Yamaguchi (the first italki teacher in the video)
Haha, what? I've had many lessons with Yamaguchi Sensei. I never even knew she could speak English. We've only ever spoken in Japanese during lessons. LMAO. But yeah, her talent for teaching pitch accent is unparalleled on italki, and I have had many teachers on italki.
We need more chill teachers like Yuuki sensei. Anyways great video and I think practising speaking when learning a new language is very important so I'll give italki a try
As someone moving to Japan this August for work reasons who still has very basic Japanese, I’ve never thought of doing something like corrected reading to improve pitch accent, but it’s a resource I’ll definitely look into while over there! This is one of the most helpful videos on pitch accident I’ve seen, thank you so much for sharing this! ☺️
I used to very discouraged knowing that people like Matt vs Japan and Dogen have studied for several years and still haven't reached a native-level of fluency yet, but I'm more encouraged seeing that you've achieved such a high level of Japanese in just a year! You must have immersed for like 5 hours a day or something!
You and I have had an opposite approach I think. I’ve started with Pimsleur and been doing it for almost 90 days. It’s pure output and of course my comprehension isn’t as well as yours because we’ve been studying in a different way. Gonna start mining after Pimsleur 5 with Migaku. Thanks for showing me the refold community. You’ve given me some advice in there actually
please guide me to learning Japanese . step by step guide & exact resources to get done with the basics / when & how to start sentence mining / learning through immersion
Been really enjoying your videos and finding them helpful as I've been really ramping up my Japanese studies in the last several months as well. Could you please tell me what site/program you're using to organize/track your time shows at around 6:20? I'd really appreciate it!
I wish I was far enough in my learning to use your promo code as I do plan on eventually using italki but I've barely started and only know a handful of words so I couldn't do it but anyway great video as always, can't wait for your next upload
To improve speaking, I think talk to real people is important... But I keep wandering how much we can do by talking to chat GTP in a target language (and ask him to answer has a teacher) I didn't have enough experience to do so in japanese, so if you want to try it and give us your feeling, I will watch it for sure
My dude I'm one of your biggest fans keep up the great work ❤❤ it has been almost a year for me since i started learning Japanese through anki and immersion but the difference is that i supplement it with grammer from the n5 to n2 series on tokini Andy's channel which is great and about a week ago i watched the show bloom into you (wince i heard its your favorite)with jap subs and had almost no problem with understanding it (I really liked how the season ended and I'm satisfied with it not continuing and I think it's great)
I'm currently 7 days into the TMW 30 days guide, and on day 6 the guide asked me to watch an anime episode in Japanese sub. I have to look up 99.99% of the subtitles. At the end, my brain is fried, and I think I remember nothing. Is this normal for first-time immersion? Should I just keep doing that along with learning?
fatigue after one episode is super normal in the beginning. to remedy it, you could try doing less lookups. i think in the beginning its more important to get hours in for getting used to the sound of the language and being able to parse the language at all instead of pure comprehension. lookups become more valuable as you learn more of the language, so imo u should just keep pushing through with whatever starter deck you have and prioritize enjoyment over everything else, gl 👍
@@trantiendung7047 i started sentence mining around 1000 words and i felt that was a good amount of words to comfortably find good sentences. u should pay attention to ur immersion beforehand haha but you'll definitely start feeling more comfortable at 1k

I like this video. Thanks for the content.
Nice video as always i might check out italki since im in a similar situation. Also, what is the page on 4:45, looks pretty cool
Thank you! And the website is anilist
I can hear Touhou music in the background at the start. It sounds like a Bossa Nova cover of Emotional Skyscraper, so probably by Shibayan Records?
Correct ✅ that reminds me tho I need to put the music in the desc I forgot LOL
How many words do you recommend having in anki before to worry less about mining and spaced repetition and spend more with immersion?
Hi, may i ask how to find the website link of コツ in 4:14
The creator did not give you the website, what the heck.
NEW MIKUMINO DROP
if u forgot all ur japanese & had to relearn it, how would u do it?
Whats that drama you shared a clip of with the argument about how to pronounce kabedon lol?
How does your anki look so clean?
Check his sentence mining video. He explains it a lot there. (Also he edits some of anki’s formatting to change the accent colors, etc)
off topic but what’s that website where you track how many anime you’ve seen 😭😭
Anilist
Could you share the deck that you have used? 😅
He use(d) Refold JP1K. However also recommend Core 2k (a free deck). He says this in his first video btw if your wondering

ahh thanks!! And I think you said I should sentence mining around 1000 words? That's when I really need to pay attention to immersion, right?

Nice and informative video mikumino! Btw what do you use to make your profile pic and youtube banner :D?
My profile pic is just from a nakatani drawing of yuu koito I can get the link once I'm on my PC, and my banner is just Photoshop
Is there a way i can contact you?
I'm struggling with an important part of the sentence mining setup, and I don't know who else i can ask for advice.
