That is an absolute crime to tear that house down - I don't understand what is wrong with people today. Thank you for taking the time to document it and for being someone your age that appreciates the older architecture - the world needs more people your age that understands that!👍
We always hear politicians talk about the environment, more debris in landfill. Waste not want not. Community needs to fight to change laws support preservation.
I thought the same thing myself for such a young man he seemed to appreciate the workmanship and beauty of that awesome house! It truly was a crime to knock it down.😔
This house is absolutely gorgeous. Why anyone would want to demolish such a gem is beyond me. They will most likely replace it with a plain square box. My husband is a jack of all building trades in restoration, most people tear these beautiful homes down, made with excellent materials and craftsmanship, only to rebuild with cheap materials.
yep.. You know it'll be some boring minimalist utilitarian eyesore with no flavor at all. People with money usually have absolutely no sense, or taste for that matter.
I don't understand why all of these wonderful homes/buildings are being torn down. There are too many homeless people or people who would like to have this home to carry on our ancestral or generational past. it's very sad 😢
By far the most beautiful home (in my opinion) you’ve ever shown. Reeks of quality at every turn. I’m so surprised you didn’t come across a vault or safe. I’m not sure we have the craftsman capable of building to this standard any longer, not to mention the cost to rebuild exacting materials. Stunning home very sad to see it go.
This house is a true work of art! Every detail is perfection. Leaded windows and stained glass windows in the same house, and gorgeous carved wood., and even marble surfaces make this one of the most beautiful homes ever.🌹😔
The people that bought this property only to tear down this magnificent 90 year old house that is built 1000 times better than the future replacement are fools.
This was the saddest one for me across all urban adventure channels !!!!! I don't know where this is but CANT believe a home heritage and preservation group did not stop this 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢 great vid but I wish I now hadn't known about this cause I'm super pissed!!!!
I feel silly atm . Ethan, as soon as you showed the front door inside, the craftsmanship actually made my heartbreak and delight as tears roll down my face. I know that sounds dramatic, but shame on these people who have made the choice to tear down a piece of our history, shame shame, shame how could anyone not want to keep it, before we know it, it will be such a extremely rare to see that man actually carved and showed creativity when building before we know it a machine will do it. All a man will need to touch it. Ughhhh‼️🫣🫣🫣😣😡🥺😭
Such a gorgeous home. It’s sickening that nothing isn’t being saved. Beautiful craftsmanship. Seeing the end broke my heart. I just can’t comprehend a home like this was destroyed. We are such a wasteful society. I love that you appreciate these homes and are recording pieces of history.
The right somebody didn’t come in time to save this one. What a crime to demolish this beautiful home!!! Woodwork like this is rarely seen today. Your great video preserves this in time…..thank YOU for that!!!
This one reminds me of a house where I live. A doctor in town had his house built in the 1920s, very similar styling. There were servants quarters in that house upstairs, and also a ballroom on the very top floor. Fortunately, it was saved and is used for weddings and other functions. It's really beautiful. It sits on the top of a hill, overlooking the city. This is in the US. It broke my heart to see the beginning of the demolition of this lovely old home! ☹️ Such a crime, in my opinion! 😡. Another good, but sad video, Ethan. Thanks!
Tudor style architecture has always seemed so unique and fascinating to me, and this one is without a doubt, at the very top of the list of the most incredible, well preserved examples, I've ever seen!! The craftsmanship, materials, and design are absolutely stellar!💫 It's just sickening to think of it being demolished! Thanks for the explore of this wonderful home ! 🤩🤟✌️
It's criminal that this beautiful house is going to be demoed. Crime! Stunning. All that Marble and woodwork. Wasteful. Huge excavator. Holy Moly. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤wah, no demo pictures.
Hey, Ethan, how are you doing? This is Matt from the states. And I'm sitting here watching your latest video about this gigantic. Beautiful home with all this dark molding. This beautiful rooms I don't know. This place is originally done someHey, Ethan, how are you doing? This is Matt from the states. And I'm sitting here watching your latest video about this gigantic. Beautiful home with all this dark molding. This beautiful rooms I don't know. This place is original. It should be a national crime to want a tear down in an absolutely gorgeous house like this. I mean the craftsmanship. The workmanship will never be like this again. The only thing everybody's gonna ever get is some thrown together. A piece of junk that would blow down in a small windstorm. But I have to say thanks to you, Ethan that this stuff is gonna be on film Documented for people to see in the future. Thank God there is people like you that do this but like I said it should be a national crying to tear these houses down. This house is absolutely gorgeous. Keep doing what you're doing me and my wife love watching your channel. And you have a lot of fans out here. That appreciate you documenting these houses , Thanks, Matt and Jennifer from Michigan.
While i dont much care for the outside tudor style, I love the 1930s era homes. Our late 1950s built home, had a regular sized cook top with the recessed "crock pot". My mom made the best spaghetti sauce with it! Absolutely love all the woodwork, I'd live in it, except the basement lol. Thanks for another great video!
That house was beautiful..shame it was torn down. I said wow also. Seeing it demolished . No one can afford homes like this anymore. Times have really changed. I enjoyef the video. Awesome video
You managed to open many people's eyes to a horrible waste, SO MANY PEOPLE would love every piece that could be taken from this home. Great work although many people are angry knowing nothing will be salvaged!
Maybe it was cheaper to tear down than to do the asbestos remediation. It sad to see that Beautiful, Grand old home torn down. Never to have that quality of home built again.😢 Thanks, Ethan for remembering her in her glory...
Given that we are all taxed to oblivion for even existing, the ones demolishing this house and all the useable components should be fined for not removing and reselling or donating everything possible. What a waste. But don't use plastic straws people!
It's happening here in Australia too, so very sad. I agree with every comment, there didn't seem to be anything wrong with this amazing home, maybe the asbestos put buyers off. Unfortunately it's all about money behind every sad act there's us greedy humans' Thankyou Ethan for filming this piece of history before it was gone.
Back in the late sixties my father scavenged wood, cabinets and the most beautiful fireplace with wood mantle and ceramic tile from an old hotel being demolished in Winnipeg. As a child I hated all the wood in the house but loved that fireplace. Now, at 62, I really miss all that unfashionable stuff, especially when I see what passes for houses these days at $ 500,00 a pop.
That house is beyond beautiful! You'd think someone would want to buy it just for the age and craftsmanship. It hurts my to know that this is probably gone as I'm writing this...
Oh, Ethan, I wish you hadn’t gone back to show the destruction. I want to keep this phenomenal home alive in my imagination. The Tudor style is my absolute favorite, and everything about this house was so exquisite. During your tour, I kept thinking how many features were also really practical for the way you would live in a place like this. The grounds were stunning. It broke my heart to see all the trees that had been cut down. I so appreciate all of the masonry - the stone and brickwork - it’s an art and a science. This gorgeous beauty would have lasted until doomsday with just the tiniest bit of care, and I so wish that it had. Thank you for filming it before it was gone. I enjoy your commentary and the way it expresses your personality.
How terribly sad to see that beauty be destroyed. It was is great shape. So sad to see ALL those trees chopped down!!! Why wasn't some of the exquisite flooring. cabinetry/wood cabinets etc SALVAGED!!??
Hey Ethan..whatever was offered for this house wouldn't be enough for me to leave..its beautiful....I'm overwhelmed with sadness😭 its being pulled down ...how dare they have no regard for it....thanks Ethan for sharing ..stay safe well warm and happy 💋
This is the BEST explore you’ve done! I grew up in a home built in that era and the character and details cannot be duplicated. The space inside is vast and unorganized. Rooms just appear and the storage is bigger and better than an actual storage facility. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS ONE. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE wear appropriate gear to protect yourself. I’ll be watching this one over and over for a long time to come.
Why is nothing being salvaged..there are business's that do nothing but buy this gorgous stuff and resell it out of their warehouses..there are a couple of these places in Massachusetts that just cater to ppl restoring their homes..gorgeous stuff...the sickness of greed.
That was one beautiful house!! Loved all the nooks and crannies, the woodwork . Looked great for its age and certainly didn’t deserve the wrecking ball!! So sad the beginning of demolition!! Thanks Noah!! 💖🥲💖🙁💖💖💖
the stain glass windows are just beautiful, the craftmanship in the woodwork is amazing, EVERYTHING is INCREDIBLE!! This has been my fav explore ever!! I think the "plaid" room was like a sewing/craft room. I should have counted the rooms, bathrooms, bedrooms and fireplaces. It so sad to see it being torn down... Thanks so much for sharing.... p.s. my son-in-law and grandson work at CAT in Lafayette, Indiana
@26:50 - When this magazine came out, I was 10 or 11. We were just about to move to Honolulu with the military. On this page, you see a Ford Fairmont. When my family moved back to the continental US in late 82, my old man bought the Mercury version of this car called the Zephyr. 1979 model but used. They gave that car to me in 1985ish while I was in HS. I was a year younger than all the people in HS so that made me kinda cool. She ran good, that car.
This home was built for endurance and longevity and it’s also I would consider a should’ve been a restoration home. I don’t understand these contractors thinking process. I guess it’s all about the money the quality of this home is outstanding. It’s just a shame. Very nice thank you for sharing.❤️🫶🏻🤠
Such a shame! There are so few houses like this. It shocks me that someone interested in historic preservation wouldn't buy this. Instead it gets bought and demolished like any old thing. People really have more money than sense.

The woodwork is just beyond amazing, the craftsmanship of the Bannister this house is utterly gorgeous, I'd buy it and keep, and maybe make a bed and breakfast out of it, it's too beautiful to tear down.
I live in the UK where there are no shortage of grand homes like this and where park was possible many have been given protected status and can't t be bulldozed. It would be a crime to destroy a perfectly good building like this. OK, many people would rather have a more modern home, but this place could serve another purpose. Canada is a big country, it cannot be a question of not t having space to build?
Lot of resale value in hardware, doors and leaded windows in this house!! Kitchen looks like a 70's redo... the ovens in particular!! Very nice home and a shame that it is getting demolished....
Great find! I loved the tour through this 1932-built mansion. You noticed and remarked on every single interesting thing as you always do. Cinematography was fabulous too! Assume the complete tear-down and the lack of saving much, was due to the asbestos thing?
Alls I can say is Wow what a Beautiful house such a Classic there is nothing I can say about this house but Wow great job with this one Ethan I love it.. Thank you for sharing❤
One of your best Ethan Thank you. The kitchen i wonder if they saved the marble counter tops? If anything they really should save those outer doors and windows to sell second hand. Beautiful explore.
Oh how I wish I hadn’t seen the day after! It feels like a death occurred. I hope someone saved the stained glass windows…even the ones in the garage doors!
Canada doesn't have a historical society? Tearing that house down is a shame! It's gorgeous!
Yes we do.
So much larger then it looks...massive size estate ...set almost parkland like...pool too...wow...so easy to get lost in there...
Hey Lynda, I couldn't agree more.

Exactly, why , it is such a shame
I think Canada needs huge ugly chesp apartments for our yearly Millions of illegals. FJT
I don't understand why all of these wonderful homes/buildings are being torn down. There are too many homeless people or people who would like to have this home to carry on our ancestral or generational past. it's very sad 😢
RIGHT!
In 1932, that house and grounds would have been exquisite.
No one saved the trim, light fixtures, floors, doors, and windows?!? Such a travesty!
I agree I would have been in there ripping all those light fixtures out.
It's criminal to take this down, all the craftsmanship and history. It's just sad.

To have a house built with this much real wood work will cost millions and they’re just gonna destroy the whole thing! What a shame
I totally agree!! What a waste of a beautiful home, makes me so sad!!!!
And the windows!!!!😪😪
This house is a true work of art! Every detail is perfection. Leaded windows and stained glass windows in the same house, and gorgeous carved wood., and even marble surfaces make this one of the most beautiful homes ever.🌹😔

You're the generation to stop waste while helping the climate. Destruction of these homes has to stop 🛑.
Agree
Heart wrenching that someone didn’t come in and save that woodwork and windows, floors and such. 😢
Agree
You should always wear a mask just to be safe
Exactly
Such a gorgeous home. It’s sickening that nothing isn’t being saved. Beautiful craftsmanship. Seeing the end broke my heart. I just can’t comprehend a home like this was destroyed. We are such a wasteful society. I love that you appreciate these homes and are recording pieces of history.

I believe that originally, they had servants. Not just a nanny. But possibly a cook and a housekeeper. Possibly a maid. Even a gardener.
3rd floor
That's probably why storage doors were locked in the basement. Can't trust the hired help. Smh
Why is someone not saving those beautiful stained glass!!???
The most beautiful house EVER. Thank you Ethan. Great find.
All that beautiful stained glass, woodwork and marble just all gone to waste. So heartbreaking 😢😢
How the wealthy lived in the early mid-20th century! So elegant, stately and refined!
Just beautiful!!! Not enough words to describe it!!! So so sad that it can't be saved!! Gorgeous, even now!!!
Great find and video!!! Loved it!
The house thanks you Ethan for appreciating it one more time. 😊

What a spectacular old house! Shame on whoever decided to destroy it!!
The black bathroom downstairs was remodeled, not original…

So sad, seeing history being destroyed. It was a beauty for sure!
Agreed, they should have turned it into museum, they could have made money with tours, I'd pay!!!
Sad to see this one disappear . Glad you got your steps in ! 🙂
Oh Ethan...i could cry. What a gorgeous house to be demolished...they dont make strong structured houses like that anymore. Thanks for showing it !
It’s so sad to see this go because you’ll never get some thing like this again it was beautiful but it’s going to be gone

That place is awesome 😎👍 I love how they left all that wood stained and I wish I had a freezer like that
Note to self Ethan: grip gloves and a reliable face mask against mold and asbestos.
Pipe down Chicken Little.
A good respirator would protect you.

Such a shame to see this beauty go. These modern builds don't hold a candle to these old homes!
The saddest part of all this for me is the destruction of so many beautiful trees.😧
HORRIBLE HORRIBLE WASTE FOR SUCH A WELL CONSTRUCTED HOME...

Ethan, great find and thanks for that nice virtual tour!
Ethan, the faces in the brick are called "gargoyles". They usually have them in old churches and castles. It's a kind of grotesquely carved figure.
1978 seems like yesterday.
I love the exterior look of this home
Ethan - Great find, enjoyed the tour. Thank you!

Awesome Tudor. They dont build em like that anymore. The lead glass windows. all the dark wood is beautiful, but too much

Truly a grand home...
We believed in good security back then! Yale is an excellent key company.
Yes it is. I use a lot of the keypad locks and Yale is the superior one. Easiest to install and use.
Such a shame! There are so few houses like this. It shocks me that someone interested in historic preservation wouldn't buy this. Instead it gets bought and demolished like any old thing. People really have more money than sense.
That's absolutely beautiful, after all these years being closed up so long, they don't build em like this anymore, such beautiful craftsmanship.
An excellent adventure Ethan. Thank you.
Beautiful place to bad it being torn down 😢
It's an absolute travesty that this incredible home is being torn down! And why would they not salvage the stained glass windows, the fireplaces, the flooring, the French doors in that front room. Just tragic. Thanks for sharing Ethan!
Enjoyed the video!! Thank you!!
Thank You Ethan for documenting this gorgeous and grand piece of history❣️
Thanks for the video I enjoyed watching
Behind the stairs art deco area is a vestibule for clergy. Yes, the plaster was so white, I never forgot that. The Owner in the 70's had the perfect settings in every room. They had traditionally hosted The Church and other various dignitaries.
This house should be a museum ❤😂!?.
One of my favorite videos ever on any channel, like a movie, thank you Ethan, this explore goes beyond!!!
Yes older homes often have a smaller electrical panel on the second floor as well the main one in the basement...
Incredible find...thank you ethan...
Thank you for doing this video
The woodwork is just beyond amazing, the craftsmanship of the Bannister this house is utterly gorgeous, I'd buy it and keep, and maybe make a bed and breakfast out of it, it's too beautiful to tear down.

What a beautiful, gorgeous, stunning home. Thank you so much for the tour.
Absolutely beautiful! Thank you for taking us with you for this exploration!
Great find! I loved the tour through this 1932-built mansion. You noticed and remarked on every single interesting thing as you always do. Cinematography was fabulous too! Assume the complete tear-down and the lack of saving much, was due to the asbestos thing?
Lovely Home Ethan❤
Such a beautiful home it’s too bad it’s being knocked down, what a shame.
Amazing video Ethan, love the house. What a shame it had to go. Just beautiful....🧡🏘
Awesome video😊
Wow great explore! What a beautiful home. I appreciate how you take your time and show us the details.
Good taste in a fine vehicle Ethan!
Great find Ethan ❤
Alls I can say is Wow what a Beautiful house such a Classic there is nothing I can say about this house but Wow great job with this one Ethan I love it.. Thank you for sharing❤
One of your best Ethan Thank you. The kitchen i wonder if they saved the marble counter tops? If anything they really should save those outer doors and windows to sell second hand. Beautiful explore.
This home should have been put on the historic register and protected.
