    Love that green colour ! I have been riding Honda’s for 30 happy years. They are so reliable I am willing to have a quad with less horse power they have never broke down and made me walk back to the hunting camp which is good because I go back in the bush 25 to 30 kilometres from camp

    to be honest i own a honda foreman 500es nd bought it brand new and NOT ONE TIME its never been taken to the shop due to problems other than tire changes and oil changes and my 2011 can am 800r outlander only has 300 miles on it and the fuel pump went out costing me 355 bucks but i still love my can am because it will haul ass lol

      I was just talking about this! It’s it too much to ask for a Honda that’s powerful and jacked up?? I mean seriously look at the aftermarket for Honda...it’s not even close. I can’t even lift my Rancher more than 2 inches without leaning my tires sideways

      I've been wondering why they haven't myself. I don't know if it's a "we don't want to focus on that" thing or what. But they got into the sport side by side game, so why not the mudding game?!

      @@NavigateOffroad exactly, if not mud ready then at least give us an option to get a 1000 cc atv so the consumer can accessorize it. I mean they are a big enough company and have enough assets to make one. The market is changing and if they don't change they will lose out

    I used to own a 2007 Honda Forman and I loved it. Problem was I "outgrew" it after a couple years and wanted something with more power and a back seat for one of my kids to ride with. Honda didnt have anything to fit my needs so I went with Can Am and never looked back. Comparing my 07 to the new 2020 and it doesn't seem like there has been a whole lot of change with the Foreman aside from the efi and a newer body style. I'm sure I'm only one of many customers Honda has lost due to not evolving they're ATV line up and keeping up with the competition. It's too bad because they are tough machines. Maybe the new Talon is a sign of things to come from Honda and they will blow us all away with new stuff in the next couple of years or maybe I'm just dreaming.

    • @NavigateOffroad
      @NavigateOffroad  5 лет назад

      Thanks for sharing that, Micky. My guess is there are many others out there with a similar story. I agree, it's too bad because Honda really does make a durable machine.

    My 2020 rubicon deluxe goes through anything and everything just like the can am 1000's and all the rest. You want to do 110 buy a dirt bike. 90% of the time you are just crawling anyways , I don't know about you but I prefer reliability when i am way out in the bush hunting late season or ice fishing in the winter.

    I like the green machine a lot. Not sure why in all these years they haven't at least done a touch up on the Rincon. I agree. Yamaha has done a better job. I still think there is some room for improvement there too though 😆. They have done just enough over the years to not be Honda. With that said though, personally (currently) I would probably buy a Yamaha over a Honda.

Hopefully they give it a new generation soon! It would be awesome if they redone the motor as a snappy parallel twin thatd be awesome and keep weight low, using the 600 silverwing engine possibly using its cvt?

    I have a KQ and an AC. I HATE steel racks. My AC has composite, they look great, are rubberized, which is better than steel and flatter so things like bags of mulch sit much nicer on. Also the speedlock II system is fantastic. I swap between extensions and a trunk for a long day run in seconds. What can I do with my KQ steel racks? Not much because I have to ubolt the trunk to it. And the steels paint rubbed off after one time on a run with a gas can

    Chris, I have the plastic over steel racks on my A/C Alterra. I absolutely abhor these racks. Mounting points don't exist leaving you with factory accessories as your only option. Am looking at the CFMoto 600 right now. Honda should change their name to 'Yawnda'. I'm getting sleeeeeepy.

    • @NavigateOffroad
      @NavigateOffroad  5 лет назад

      Haha, that's funny Tim. That brings up a good point about the racks though. Plastics are definitely harder to to strap and mount things to versus metal racks.

    Another entertaining episode. I think they bare a striking resemblance to the sportsman line up ...especially from the front. I prefer the looks of the plastic racks to the steel. However, as for strength and durability steel all the way. Especially if loading into a tight space or trailer. I can grab the rear rack on my CForce 400....& move the quad around by way of the rack. Can't do that with the wife's Sportsman. Thanks by the way for the CFMOTO props in this episode. My Cf400 has been an animal of a quad. As for Honda ATV's for this year. Subtle improvements are all the really good quads need. Honda makes a strong machine....if I could afford one....I"d probably own one.

    • @NavigateOffroad
      @NavigateOffroad  5 лет назад

      All well said, Jimmy! I think we pretty much see eye to eye 😆. I agree they are definitely strong machines. Would still like to see a little inovation at some point though! Even if it involves introducing a new machine. Maybe keep the lineup now for what it's k own, and add a new machine that is its own beast. I'm sure that's a big money issue for them though.
      Thanks for the compliment. Glad the episode was entertaining.

    Honda makes ATV's to work. The Rubicon is a good trail quad but it's lacking in power compared to the competition. Quality wise they are the best and it seems like they have decided to go after the UTV market. I have a Rubicon and when I upgrade, it will be to a SxS. I'm ecstatic that I can buy a competitive Honda sport SxS, it doesn't bother me that their ATV line up is stale.

      @NavigateOffroad  5 лет назад

      Good input, Kasky. It's great for you being that you want a SXS next, but I believe over 50% of the market is still ATVs, so it does seem like Honda is pretty much leaving them hanging.

    • @thebourbonnook
      @thebourbonnook 5 лет назад +1

      @@NavigateOffroad I can't say I 100% agree that Honda is leaving anyone hanging. They are still competitive machines for people who want to trail ride. When a trail has a speed limit of 30 mph, a Rubicon 500 is just as fast as a Renegade 1000. Both are capable and comfortable. Don't get me wrong, I would love to see an updated Rincon with new plastics, DCT and power steering. They are perfectly capable of making a 500cc engine that’s just as powerful as the Polaris 570. Power of a Grizzly 700 easy. They just won’t do it 🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️. I really don’t get it. The only reason I would buy a honda is for someone else to ride lol fleet use or as a backup and it would be foot shift, probably the 2wd recon. The DCT has been junk in my experience. 2 out of three DCT Hondas have had to have the cases split to repair a fiddly broken part that stopped the ATVs shifting. Both at about 3000 miles. Not to mention how laggy the DCT is. I dont recommend honda ATVs to anyone anymore. They are the same price as Cant-Am and Popos but with half or less power and suspension. What a joke. Honda ATV development ceased in 1988. The only reason they dont break as many parts is because they make 29hp on the most powerful model.

    id love to have a honda foreman with about 40 to 50 hp since im a big guy. i weigh about 260 pounds and ive owned lots of hondas and there great machines but they need more power for us big guys to ride up hills or just cruise at a decent speed without twisting the guts out of it so for now i have a sportsman 570 and its plenty powerful for my needs but i wish it had gears like a honda thats all its missing for me and what i want. Just my thoughts on the subject. To each his own

    HONDA NEEDS A REAL AFTERMARKET. I can’t find any real lift kits for my 2009 Rancher 420 IRS

      Really? Wow. I agree their aftermarket setup isn't that great. But I am surprised to hear you haven't been able to find a single lift kit. Crazy.

    Honda's overpriced underpowered... i had a 2014 foreman 500 esps paid 8400... nothing but issues... bought a 2018 grizzly 708 major difference!

      Then you bought the bigfoot version. You hear they exist, but no one has proof.

      Is the Grizzly a lot faster than the Foreman? Also is there enough room for two people on the Grizzly? Thanks
