I've been an EE for 15 years now but don't have specialty in small electronics. This was basically a short masterclass in board level repair work. Thanks for the video!

If you ever get an X-Box One S on your bench for a partial power issue I'd love to see that. That's the one repair that's haunted me without completion thus far. Your videos are fantastic and appreciated.
it will be great if big boss starts doing vids on how to dismantle the phones and tabs it will be very useful for people trying to open up stuff and don't know how
You always make plans for broken trace n it always turn good n working. Detailed information like 20-30 sec for UV light can’t find them any books n these comes from the result experience n it comes to us just like from a sliding pad
I always enjoy your videos and leaning new things from you, but I was surprised that the track replacement wire didn't need tinning before you soldered the chip on. Does it get solder from the chip pads or what?
It's not needed. Wire is not enemaled. Chip is pressed down flat forcing the wire to squeeze between the board and chip. The wire is not going anywhere with solder mask on.
Great job on removing those chips. On switch pcb boards the gold arrow points to pin number one. There was no need to put a red pen dot on. Unless im incorrect.
That's a ridiculous connector to fix, so fragile and breaks so easily, if you don't seat if perfectly first time, all the pins just break, like it's made to break.
Very good, i love your videos. Everyday without a video from you, is a boring day. Great job. Where do you buy your chips and the usb-c or lightning connectors?
I managed to crack 3 joints on the motherboard where the sd socket sits. I'm new to soldering and was wondering if it would be easy to resolder them or something.
Hi i have Lenovo k4 and i have battery issue my battery is give good backup at 100% to 50% but at 50% the battery drop every second and direct stop at 20% what i need to do please reply.
On the part on 2:11 what happens if you accidentally hit one of the three silver Cubs on the side of the as card connector because I tried to replace the micro SD card reader and I hit one
Heqting the area melts the solder underneath the chip. You press it down while heating, then let go when it cools down and -presto- soldered. Altho this is called "reflowing"
Hi, I bought a solder wick on amazon but doesnt seem to work. Any you would recommend? Im trying to replace my ipod 4 30 pin connector. Thanks in advance.
I see no one responded. First step is to add flux and then run a tinned tip over the traces to mix in leaded solder with lead-free. Then, once mixed, press the wick against the pads with the hot iron tip. The solder will suck up into the wick. Do this until the pads are clean. Then, once clean, flux, and re-tin them with leaded solder. Once you've gotten your pads properly tinned with new solder apply flux, place the connector, and solder using hot air or an iron.

@Hussein, Sir, I'm so happy you cut the wire at the end, I was obsessed by its length during the whole video 😂

Good question. I know he has both coated and regular copper wire he uses. Either way there must still be solder remaining on the chip pad?
It's not needed. Wire is not enemaled. Chip is pressed down flat forcing the wire to squeeze between the board and chip. The wire is not going anywhere with solder mask on.
@@NorthridgeFix Ok fair enough. Thanks for the answer.

perfect job as always, are you looking trough the microscope or do you look at the big screen while soldering and working with small smd components?
He uses the screen.
@Northridgefix - do you sell that solder mask + uv light? Would definitely come in handy for doing my repairs (I just did a switch M92T36)
Now I know how to fix my switch. Thank you! Cheers!

Don't sweat the small stuff. Especially if it's microscopic..
Thank you M.r
great job thanks
I know nothing about soldering. Does that liquid you put not damage the other things on the mother board?
It's flux.
It helps evenly distributing heat and insulate to protect the board n components from damage by accident.
On the part on 2:11 what happens if you accidentally hit one of the three silver Cubs on the side of the as card connector because I tried to replace the micro SD card reader and I hit one
